Ormeau 4wd track cleanup
Sorry about no sound. The guy who took the vid on his phone has a broken sound card. Out with the Suzuki Sweep Up crew to help clean up the 4wd tracks up the back of Ormeau which is in the hinterland between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, S.E. Queensland. Unimog dragged two wrecks with no wheels a long way out from their resting places. We took 5 tons of rubbish out. That steep hill I dragged the white wreck up was a place where I had to return and winch Suzukis up it was so steep. Mog hardly felt it. Was in low range Working Group gear set and 3rd gear. The normal gears are generally too high in rough country.

Was up the back of Ormeau between Brisbane and the Gold coast with a friend. Staked a tyre but still managed to make progress up to a flat spot where we changed it out. Lucky these wheels are run flats and bead locks.
Sendfest 8 Highline

Sendfest is a get together of like minded eople in a unique geological feature in the cave on the eastern side of Mt. Coolum on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. The weekend is full of hard climbers sending their projects and lots of rope jiggery pokery including aid climbing and slackline/highline walking and tricks. May even set the portaledge up on the wall.

More footage on the fund raising abseil and zip line event down in Sydney for the Sir David Martin Foundation. We were privileged to be able to use the Investa Building in Market Street. We launched the participants from off the roof at 135 metres up. 34 floors or thereabouts. Great gig.

Best zip line ever. Twin track lines, twin belay ropes with two belayers. And then we were delivered a bloke with a prosthetic leg who was absolutely stoked that he could do this. It's what we do though. I love being part of activities where anyone no matter their life difficulties can participate. This was a charity event for the Sir David Martin Foundation raising money for youth at risk.

Group of us took our Unimogs up to Fraser Island for Australia Day long weekend. Played around at Ngkarla Rocks. Fun times. Recovered a heap of vehicles that would not let their tyres down or who simply didn't yet have the driving skills overcome the soft fluffy sand on the bypass track at Ngkarla Rocks.

Lui and I went exploring and found detached pillars in the jungle. 30 metres high at least. Climbing routes possibilities too.
Counterbalance Leader rescue

This was a simulated counterbalance leader rescue. Victim was actually conscious but played along brilliantly. The scenario is that the trad climbing leader is more than half a rope length out. Yes, we went there a couple of years ago. I was there with my Mog and I think a few other Mogs as well as the 8x8 MAN.

searched in here for tow and wrecker and got nothing.... soooooo..... what was with the tow truck backing up to the the 8x8 ?
It was for a posed fun photo. Interestingly a few months after this trip that tow truck combined with another Unimog was used in a recovery on the other side of the island where they had to pull the 8x8 out of the mud. Huge effort to recover.

This is wreckless. There is no reason the person being rescued needs to be neglected to this extend during a lower. Their face should have been protected at the very least. Please consider improvising a chest harness to oriented them better on a lower.
Where did the 8x8 get converted to right-hand drive? Was it necessary to get it registered in Australia?

This is most likely due to the frame rate of the camera recording and isn’t actually a strobe mechanism

@@RowynDaily Pretty sure it is RHD. Not sure if it is a converted job or original equipment i/e non military civvy version. Definitely from the US and definitely OSHKOSH.
