Not that the video is not useful, or at least not totaly useless, in the sense that it does shows how to get to the faulty sensor - but what is NOT shown explained is the "WHY". This is just part swapping presumably by the virtue of anecdotal information and tales of other peoples "lights" and therefore a gamble on a pretty costly replacement. I my self have a BMW X3 E83 with all manner of lights and horrible driveability and after replacing everything obvious that was at fault - mainly the rear axle ABS tone rings as they had rusted and expanded and gnawed at the ABS sensors - it stil drove horrible after repairs, only now with slightly diffrent ligts. I did have access to both a big-box-store BMW code scanner with live data reading capability and also a laptop with Delphi - and with those I could clearly see an issue with the sensor: even when drviving 100km/h it showed my cars as stationary or driving IN REVERSE! Looked at all the live data and saw that while the lateral sensor did show plausible signals, the longtitudal signal was at eiter 0,0 or -0,2 m/s2 while drving at a fairly brisk speed. So while no error codes related to the sensor in it self as it does work - kinda - I could deduce that it was at fault as the force of 0,0 m/s2 is not plausible while actually moving :) I am now waiting on delivery of a new sensor and I am more than 99,9999% certain that this will fix my problem as 2+2=4. Most of the time :D

So in the front in the passage area inside the car , you remove that part and there are cables that open the trunk. Why this information was not online ???? That is what the expert from BMW did and the trunk opened even when there was no battery and the trunk was locked in this 328i 2010 bmw. I wish someone would have mention this method .

I don't understand why they can't tell you the exact fluid to put in as they do with the engine oil change. I guess they want you to waste more fluids filling it up just to start the car and let the fluid come out to let you know its full...

Great video! Very helpful indeed! I've got a 2011 X3 28i - so very similar - but I note a few extra tips: - I didn't take any screws out of the wing piece at the top, but it is useful to remove the two lower rear screws to give a bit of space inside the wing - watch out for those pesky strainers for the two bottom pumps (front and rear screen washers) - that was our only problem. The pumps are way low in any crud that accumulates over the years - and give the tank a good flush! - The strainers are fine nylon mesh units and integral to the two black rubber grommet seals that the pumps' noses slide into. So, pull those out as well, and wash in warm soapy water; agitating with an artist's brush. - Last snag for getting the tank back in, especially if you've not attacked things from above, like Andy did - make sure you feed the side indicator feed cable around the correct side of the tank, before replacing all your pipe and cabling connections. - don't forget the water level sensor! Cheers from NZ! Rich

I watched many other videos and this is the ONLY one that helped me fix my issue. The reason is that most, if not all, other videos talk about a dead battery so if you jump start the car, you're good to go. But in my case, the battery was not dead, I was just poking around to reset a service alarm that wouldn't go away. I read somewhere that is you disconnect the battery, all alarms will go away. Then the trunk closed while the terminals were disconnected. In this case, if you try and jump start the car, you get nothing, the car will not not be responsive, so the only way to open the trunk is to get access to the emergency release handle. To make things worse for me : my tools and ratchet wrench have also been locked inside the trunk, but that's another story, it only happens to me ! The only difference in my case compared to your video (and I think this is important) is that I did not have to remove the plastic cover. I was able to pull the hooks on both sides without dismounting the plastic cover. It is hard to do, but the plastic cover is not at all in your way to do that. Also, instead of the garden tool, I made a hook from a metal plant support that many gardeners use to support vegetable plants like tomatoes. I think another option that would work is to ask a small child to slide into the trunk. I was almost able to do it myself, but I was a little too big and I'm sure a small size child can do it, if the child is not afraid of the trunk's darkness and is not claustrophobic. Thank you again for posting this, it really saved me a ton of money. I'm thinking about a 4-digit number, if I include towing cost and BMW service costs ! BTW : how would BMW service fix this issue, assuming you tow the car? do they have special tools to fix this? I'm just curious.
