Hey folks I thought I would do a small demonstration about the Aeon Redline Mira 9s Speed vs Power.
The test shows that engraving at high speeds doesn't compromise the quality of the engraving with some slight tweaks to the power.

Mistakes were made that ruined this project, I forgot to turn on the air assist which stops a build up of debris on the nozzle of the laser the build up blocks the laser path creating the lines you see in the end piece. The actual speed and the x3 almost looked like the same speed, that thing is fast! 😃 Making test pieces is the best way to learn any technique and good for both future reference and consistent work. So why do I always forget to do that? 🫣

Stonking!! And loads of wee fiddly bits too! How much clean up is there on the cut pieces before assembly?
I’ve been using a camera mounted above my laser for a few years now, at first it is spot on but over time seems to drift. So I either re do the camera set up or adjust the overlay image. Not a clue how this happens as everything is fixed in place. The camera is mounted on a bracket fixed to the roof and the 600*400 bed size 80w laser is off it’s wheels and on its feet. Well worth having a camera though, and great video mate.
That is a bizarre one. I've no idea why it would do that. It's definitely a handy addition to the machine tho

Very cool! A few questions: Can you use the camera feature like that and time an image? If you engrave multiple slate coasters at once, how do you account for the varied thickness of the slate coasters?
Tile, not time
@@herbveitenhans3285 I'm not entirely sure what you mean by tile? But if I am doing multiple of the same items I create a jig. Which I'll be showing in a video soon. For different heights of slate I just try to find one that's in the middle for height and focus for that. Unless it's high detail then I'd do them individually

Yeah it could definitely if I allowed it to burn it. But it is possible to use the laser to engrave cloth material and denims

It looks like an older, probably well loved, heirloom with the lines. Or is it just me with my only ecpirience being with mirrors painted on the front? If I had a laser like that I'd probably need a long checklist because I'm a champion of forgetting things...
Hi, thanks for sharing. One mistake I made was to not check the focal length before engraving. I have a laser engraver that you have to set the focal length manually. I messed up a few materials before realizing that was the problem. 😅🤦♀️

So sorry I missed the Premier but I got side tracked making pie. I really enjoyed watching the whole process of you putting this together. The first part is like pure witchcraft to me! This machine looks absolutely brilliant and I honestly would be happy to watch you make absolutely anything on it 😀

That's a very nice way to collect favourite things into one piece! Sadly my only expirience of the Highlands were a very rushed tour 15 years ago called Highlands in a day out of Edinburgh. It was a great tour, I just wished I could have had hours insted of minutes at each location we stopped.
Ah sounds like you need another visit. You could easily spend days all over the Highlands and still not see everything
