When I do everything my plane won't follow the waypoints or the flight plan when I take off and fly
Make sure you have activated and closed your flight plan on the FMS like in the video, and the airplane will follow the waypoints if you have LNAV engaged and FMS1 as the source
I can't move when I go full throttle and release the park brake
Make sure you have removed the chocks and that the red gust lock handle is down

I haven't flown the G550 in a while, but from what I've seen the airplane keeps getting better with every update. The most recent update introduced a new custom ND and reduced FMS load times. Definitely worth the purchase IMO.
how to set A/T hold?
There's a hidden A/T Hold clickspot on the glareshield or you can use the physical buttons on the throttles

Hey guys I hope you can help me. I can't get the damn thing to pressurize. All engine bleeds are on, isolation is off. I have 38 shown on my engine bleed. If I turn on the APU mid flight and the APU bleed it'll decrease a little bit but then sky rocket back up. I'm thinking it's a weird glitch...
Hi, couple of things you can check. 1. Are both the air conditioning packs on? Below the bleed air and isolation valve controls. 2. Make sure the ram air switch is off (dark). Between the packs switches. 3. Make sure the cabin controller switches show “flight” on the left one, nothing on the middle one and “auto” on the right one. 4. If the E-Inverter switch to the right side of the electrical control switches is not in auto it will cause problems with the pressurisation system. Apart from that, I’m not sure. Maybe a glitch.

I can't get my flight controls to move, where is the gust lock, apparently I have to remove that?
Around time stamp 0:36 you can see the side of the gust lock in between the throttles and the flaps. Its a big red T handle on the right side of the lower pedestal. It should be pushed in to disengage the lock.

Why do the LOC and GS indications on the FMA disappear when you disconnect the autopilot? Should LOC/GS not be kept in even when flying manually, so that the flight directors can actually display something meaningful?
Yes, it should stay. The g550 does some weird stuff, and this is one of them. I’ll talk to the dev.
@@finthepilot4678 Thanks. That seems to be a major bug and essentially prevents hand-flying an ILS with flight director guidance. Can approach mode at least be reactivated without turning on the autopilot again?

It's a clickspot over the mode control panel. Click the top left screw of the MCP. The Bottom left screw is the TOGA clickspot.

Hi, nice video. Have you tried using FLCH during climb? Our FMS is setup that it has a V-target of V2+10 until 1500ft, passing 1500ft transitions to 165KIAS and then at 3000ft to 250KIAS. So, we engage FLCH and AP passing 1500ft, and then choose Manual Speed between 180KIAS-210KIAS depending on our weight. Once we are clear of constraints or received all possible initial directs after departure, we accelerate to 250KIAS until FL100 and then usually revert back to Autospeed. From there on, our FMS is scheduled with CLB speeds of 270KIAS/M0.75. During the whole phase we usually keep FLCH, as it provides us with max climb performance unlike VNAV. I tested V1 before, but wasn’t really convinced by the power profile and the MCP. Would be nice to get a feedback from you as you seem to fly it regularely in xplane. Thanks!
I have a problem where yoke is frozen and dont work and the same with throttle, the only thing working is the rudder
Make sure the control lock is removed. It is a red lever just to the right of the throttles.

Excellent video...started using the 550 very recently and you've helped a lot. I cant engage VNAV...missed something in the FMS? I know I have to close off the plan with destination airport but do I also need to programme the arrival as well. I dont usually do the latter until later and when I get arrival instructions from the controller? Thanks
How do you get the MFD waypoints and magenta line to be much more legible and not super small
That was fixed with the X-Plane 12 version, it’s still small on xp11.

I love this airplane !! I have experienced some problem ... especially in the FMS that sometimes make the SIM stuck for few second.. hope the Developper can solve this issue. Also .. the texture need to be better.. I feel everytime I use this addon to be back 10 years ago ...
It can definitely be a bit disruptive, but it works. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
I downloaded the new 2.09 and I tryed it for XP11: the FMC anytime you change a point ( like direct to a fix ) got stuck for at least 2/ 3 second ... MY GOD !! I do not know if this issue does not happen while using XP12 instead..
Unfortunately, it's a known issue. Hopefully will be fixed soon.

Probably because your flight plan isn't "closed" To fix this, insert your arrival airport into the last line on your legs page. For example, after your STAR and approach it should say via.to and then a blank space, just put your destination airport after the last waypoint and that should solve your problem.
How about G500/600 ? It would be cool if you did some work on those models…

I have been trying to use the 'DIRECT" on FMC , do you press DIRECT first then way point or waypoint first then DIRECT button ? I tried both and plane wont intercept even with LNAV activated... Thanks
It should be DIRECT, then using the LSKs (left soft keys) to select the waypoint you want to go to
Why is the auto throttle touch pad on a panel screw..? Are there other hidden touch pad areas..? A big thanks for your videos..! I have my answer, just need to find spots on the throttles.
The developer did that because the real buttons to apply TOGA or engage the autothrottle are on the throttle and it's easier to access when it's on the panel.

Great video! When starting engines there’s no need to turn off any packs unless the APU air is less than 40 psi. When turning the start master on, it turns off the right pack automatically and when starting an engine, the other pack turns off. Saves you some time. Also, the engine bleeds on the G550 (while engines are off and on) can always stay on, unlike the GV and older models.

Hey do you ever have problems with the autopilot in this? A lot of the time when I start from cold and dark lvl change/vnav/selected speed won't work at all. When I start with the engines already started in XP I don't have this issue though, was wondering if anyone else had the same in the G550

It’s nice what you are doing, however, you are doing a lot of extra things that is automated. And yes, I fly the real 550. You arm the emergency power first to make sure it works. Once you turn the batteries on, you turn the emergency power back to off. (After apu start, you arm them and leave them armed) APU start requires the left main fuel pump. You can do the right, but you would have to open the cross flow. So nobody does this. APU generator is always selected on. We never touch that button. So as soon as the Apu is at 100%, the generator comes automatically online. After that, you turn on the Apu bleed air. (After 90 seconds) For engine start, you turn on the two main fuel pumps. Not all 4. Then you press the start button, this will take care of the isolation valve and the packs. So no, you don’t do any of those manually. It’s all automatic. You ALWAYS start the right engine first. This is the only time you can see that the PTU works for your hydraulics. After both engines are up and running, start master off first. This will again set the packs and isolation valve back to where it’s supposed to be. At this point you turn on the two remaining fuel pumps and you stop the APU. You do not deselect the APU generator. Only thing you deselect is the APU bleed air. Bleed air will automatically go to engines. You are also allowed to take off with APU running for bleed air, to improve runway performance. At 1500 feet AGL, the bleeds will automatically switch to the engines, at which point you shut down the APU. Why did I write all this? Because the 550 is a lot more automated than was shown in your video. Still loved the video though. Nice job.
First off, I absolutely agree with your statement. Unfortunately, this model doesn't have the fidelity of simulation to accurately represent the intricacies that you have described. I meant for this video to be a user friendly tutorial on how to get the airplane started, not an in depth fully realistic startup procedure. Thanks for the additions!

Way to go Fin, crystal clear instructions. Starting is easy for me, but there seems to be many who have problems getting it to go. I have this memorized but still have a checklist popped up. I did learn about one thing from this: the warn inhibit. I have switches on my yoke to clear the warning and caution. I can reclaim them and use the inhibit now.

Im having an issue with this aircraft . The PFD speed tape and altimeter isnt moving,and also I cant click the TOGA button on my throttles.
Make sure that you have your pins and covers removed via the efb. as for the toga button, make sure you have your autothrottle armed and your clicking the back left button on the throttle.
I am having an issue where the irs would never align even though it is set to instant on the tablet. Any help?

For me the APU never says ready but idk
Make sure you have a main fuel pump on, I usually use the left. Once that’s on, make sure the master switch says on and then wait for the ready light.
