Starter spins but doesn't turn engine - 2000 Ford F-150 Truck
This video shows that a starter can have the Bendix engaged and spin the pinion, but not turn the flywheel.
I though it was amazing that it should work given I removed the starter to test it. I energized the solenoid and the gear pops out. I had even applied a battery jump pack to the truck to see if it was low voltage. Still just spun. A new starter solved the issue!

Acura TLX - Emission Fault Code P0328 - Knock Sensor Replacement

Sorry - No audio, I just wanted to get this video out there, and I don't have editing time for sounds / audio. Really there is not much to say. 2015 Acura TLX SH-AWD (V6) had an active fault code as well as stored of the same type. Fault code appeared randomly on the dash board while driving, then some days it was clear. The car was scanned and fault codes were viewed - P0328. Because of the sp...

2013 Toyota Sienna Spark Plugs access
มุมมอง 61K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This video was taken at different times of replacing the spark plugs on a newer Toyota Sienna 2013. I tried my best to have smooth editing. Just wanted to keep a simple video to see what it takes to get at the plugs and keep it short as possible. This should be the same for the new model Sienna's as well, but I can't confirm it. I did use iridium type plugs as these are the OEM type material. T...

2004 Acura RSX intermediate shaft separated from CV axle
Thank you!!!!
holy moly. after hammering and prying and nothing happen, i try this method and it pops out instantly extremely easily. thank you for your wisdom
may i know what symptoms did you experience when this code appeared? my acura rdx 2016 showed this code and I feel like low acceleration and low mpg. Is that expected?
Use a slide hammer
👍👍👍👍👍🌹
Do you know if you used an OEM sensor? I have the same code and am about to do the swap but don’t know if it is worth it to go for OEM or save a little money with duralast/encore
@@bigsaint914 I did not use Acura OEM part, been working fine this whole time.
@@oznol1 thanks for the response. For anyone else wondering, I did this repair last weekend and went ahead and changed both knock sensors while I had it apart. Picked them up from NAPA and it has been running great ever since, no codes
never change spark plugs this hard before
Genius!
Amazing trick and I’ve got a tip for you guys too. I had poor access and didn’t want to remove this from the car. So I got some duct tape and taped my 300mm 1/2” extension onto the socket and hit with a hammer. All done in 2 minutes without any disassembly!! Honda civic mk8 done in 1 min
Thank you so much for the trick. I almost gave up.
Omg. Lifesaver
I just tried this now, under the car, there wasn't much room to swing, but once it started moving it went well.
Worked like a charm for me on my 08 TSX.
Thank you your video helps me ❤
Fkn life saver ! Thanks for the tip
Man, I hope not to see that code!
YOUR AMAZING!!!! been at this for 2 days and this worked in 5 mins Thank you very much!!!
I was starting to wonder if I had the wrong half-shaft. I am used to tapping b series axles out. this k swap I am doing I had to do some work to get them on, then back off. I guess this is just how they are.
3/8" spark plug socket ?? I don't think such a socket exists. Did you mean 5/8"!
How long did this take you?
Maybe a few hours.
I'm glad you did it in Great lighting out of the car because all anyone really needs to know is you can do this in the car if there's enough space but whatever you do don't do what some of these Hillbillies do grabbing it too hard you'll screw that bearing up big time and I'm personally going to try and do this with it in the vehicle I have an '05 Honda Element and I bet these parts are pretty much the same
I have basically the same problem, 2015 V6 Honda Crosstour. My battery died and I replaced the battery (clears codes and emission parameters), two days later the engine light came and and I verified code p0328 bank 1 sensor. After two days the engine light went off. However the P0328 was not active, but still stored as a permanent code. weeks later the engine light came on again because of P0328 and again the engine check light would extinguish about a day later. Finally decided to go ahead and replace both knock sensors being they are the same age. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the comment, our TLX also cleared the code by itself over time, only to be active again days later. I believe I may have witnessed this code tripping when I got a slight hesitation on acceleration from the engine, the code popped up again instantly! Not a bad idea to 'knock' both bank sensors out at the same time when you are that far into it. Good Luck!
Around where I live, it costs almost $500 to get this job done at a shop. So…thanks!
where did you buy the sensor from? how much?
About seventy dollars from rock auto site.
How many gaskets are there to replace when doing this?
@@TheCarlejoseph I was able to re-use them.
@@oznol1 thanks
I’m having the same issue on my POS EP3. But it’s still in the car
So pretty! Was this early November by chance?
Late November
Oh no! The stealrerships mechanics secret is revealed!!
bro..... just hold the halfshaft and axle assembly in the air, and smack the axle in the same manner that you did when you finished removing it its all about the shock you give it with the hammer gravity will do the rest,.... its how ive been doing it for nearly 20 years
Great video and easy way to remove it! I am looking at uprated axles right now and they don't come with an intermediate shaft. I had always thought the shaft was with the cv axle regardless, but now that I know that isn't the case, this way of removing it will help immensely!
Best trick been beating my axle for about 2 hours and this worked in minutes 😭😭
Thank you so much for the good explanation.👍
2012 honda accord. i can literally almost fully seperate the intermediate shaft from the cv axle ( itleast 80%) by hand. Is this dangerous? i plan to get it fixed soon but just noticed the problem now.
If everything is installed properly, it should not just slide out by itself. If you have the intermediate shaft and cv axle both pulled off the vehicle and you can separate by hand, then no beating necessary, just replace and re-install. there is nothing holding them together from a new install, once all installed, they should not just slip apart. Hope this helps.
@@oznol1 I can slide it out by my hand with the car jacked up while the axle nut is still on. I believe they stay together while under load of the car but if theres nothing holding them together why is it an issue if i can separate them 80% by hand?
@@DiamondScuff In the video, the end of the spline shaft has a groove for a retaining clip. This clip holds the two shafts together, it should be like a click lock when they are pushed in together. Over time, the splines seize up and trying to pull them apart is very difficult. If you can separate by hand, that is fine, just make sure when you make your repair, they hold together somewhat on their own.
@@oznol1 The retaining clip just prevents them from fully coming apart correct? But the retaining clip doesnt engange im assuming till trying to fully take it off? Like as soon as i attach the axle to the intermediate shaft it wont click till i assume its fully seated? Then when disconnecting im assuming ill only have to battle the retaining clip when im just about 95% having the cv axle off? Or should the retaining clip engage while they are fully seated or anytime i try to seperate it? Meaning i shouldnt be able to seperate them easily by hand? Sorry i havnt dealt with axles/intermediate shafts before.
@@DiamondScuff My understanding is that it would act like if the CV axle went straight into the transmission, like on the other side. It won't click / lock into place until fully seated. When removing, once the click lock is overcome, it should slide 95% rest of the way out. My memory on other set-ups is when trying to pull a CV axle from the side of the transmission case, there is no play axially, you must jerk at it and the boot of the CV axle until you can release that clip. Then the axle can slide right out, easy because the transmission fluid usually prevents seizing. Now for intermediate shafts to CV axles, I imagine without trans fluid, overtime dirt and grime would cause a more stubborn remove of the 2 pieces. That is all this video shows, an easier attempt to remove the two pieces.
Fantastic tip sir thanks 👍👍👍
I have been looking for a video like this for the longest thank you so much I'm going to do this right now I'm having the same problem
thats was perfect! after hours or trying got it out in 10 mins
awesome! thanks! out of 20 or more videos on YT, yours is the most elegant and hassle free method.
Great video, I will have my mechanic do this job, no thanks. I don’t have the time or patience if I drop bolts and all that is involved. I have large hands and butterfingers, this is not for me.
Someone who can't clean an engine bay over 100k miles is not who I'd get maintenance advice from. I hope that's not your car, the rust was unbelievable too.
❤ 🍻
No. Short and complete
You’re a fucking life saver dude. Beat on it and pried at it for 2 hours. Watched your video and got it off in literally 5 minutes 🤣🤣.
this technique certainly has made progess for me removing the cv axel however im doing the removal from under the vehicle a bit more tricky & had to remove heat shield
Wuuuuw
Awesome. cheers.
Gonna use this socket trick, I have an Ep3 and it’s soooo hard to get a good spot to pry
Same technique for a CRV or Element. What brand of replacement axle did you use and what was the problem with your old, OEM axle?
BRO THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN...YOU DONT EVEN KNOW IVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS BULSHIT OUT FOR 4+hours
This is how you make a video. Never got off topic. Nice job!
I don't understand what this is?
Thanks! This helped me get my cv axle removed
