Nothing in the Abrahamic mythology cults should be taught as realty. No more excuses! Do we believe in zues anymore?
LOL this whole discussion is dumb.
I agree with what you're saying, but one correction. Military spending accounts for about 13% of the Federal Budget. Social Security, Medicare, and other health-related programs account for about 50%. Military spending is still too high
We need to be the change we want to see in others. It’s tough as Christian since 1976. So much has changed. These two men were just who I needed to hear.
Any way u got long lost brothers? U look and sound so much like my cousins husband
Anyone else notice that most churches are empty now or theyre filled with the DEI such professors promoted to overthrow America? The youtube channel "christcuck pastors" reveals such.
There's a side of me that would not be anti christian nationalism if it was my denomination, the ELCA, or denominations like it (UMC, PCUSA, ECUSA) doing it. Maybe this sounds hypocritical but these denominations understand that God is inclusive and America as a Christian Nation in this sense would be a good thing.
Great interview! I listened to Matthew’s work on “Charismatic Revival Fury” and, as a former member of a NAR church, was fascinated by how thoroughly he has given an explanation to so much of what troubled me as a former NAR church member, and what concerns me about the conflation between church and politics in America. Thank you for all of your work Matthew!
Thank you for having this discussion!! Christians have to start taking Christian Nationalism seriously or they may not have a church any longer.
crucial info on the church support of the Nazi movement. I wrote a paper on this my first year of college.
Yes! So true about love! If it’s conditional it’s not love! If it’s to gain a win it’s not love! If there’s an agenda besides just hoping they feel and receive your love, it’s not really love. But once we love unconditionally as Jesus loves us regardless of any outcome or result, then that’s true love. And only then can it possibly be received and received love does effect change.
Keep doing these! We need truth! Thank you for doing God’s work.
Lol
The problem with the word "violence" in Matt 11:12 is that the phrase "take it by force" is used in the KJV - which is now over 400 years old, written in archaic English where words have changed meanings since, and is essentially the language of Shakespeare, even older than that of Samuel Pepys. Our understanding of textual criticism, our knowledge of ancient scriptures have improved since then, and better translations are now available. That phrase is more accurately translated "raiding it", such as in the NIV. So it is evident that Jesus was not advocating violence to "take" the Kingdom of Heaven. His entire life was contrary to that sort of concept. He was actually bemoaning that violent people were trying to raid the Kingdom to grab what they could. What He meant I have no idea, because this verse appears to be out of context with what He is saying about the relationship between John the Baptist and Himself. But it is obviously NOT a suggestion from Jesus that people should try to take control of, or to "rescue" the Kingdom of God by force. It is an aberrant reading of this passage that seems to follow a very American concept, probably driven by archaic language from 400 years ago which you seem to be reluctant to accept is archaic. As a British Canadian Christian myself, this sort of argument seems to be coming from what I used to call the "lunatic fringe" of the American Church. Fringe no longer, it seems, but sheer lunacy still.
How many more people must be sacrificed on the altar of diversity....multiculturalism.
7:15… you call the electrician. Funny story: after a professional electrician installed a gen switch at my meter, I couldn’t get my generator to power my house. I had to look at it, and fix it myself with the help of the interwebz. Ya see, even though my expertise was orders of magnitude below his, he didn’t care enough to do it right. The same applies with our medical decisions regarding our own health. People, doctors included, respond to incentives and self-serving motives. Those who are slow to learn this, are gonna have a rough time in life. And they probably will vote for Democrats.
This was painful to watch actually (I quit halfway through sorry). First, it seems like a huge error to conflate the equal rights struggles in society at large with local church dynamics because they are totally different. Second, I don't see that Paul or any of the Apostles taught racial diversity or equal outcomes as church doctrine? Paul cites our diversity and unity in Christ as believers but doesn't expect this to be the standard for setting national diversity laws as you guys seem to imply? You shouldn't impose a political context on Paul's words! When he writes of the "manifold wisdom of God," he isn't making a statement about diversity at all and he most certainly isn't advocating multiculturalism as a political statement or legal doctrine. It's one thing for Local pastors to be concerned with partiality in the church, or social disparities in general, but it's quite another thing for Christians pastors and activists to try to resolve racial tensions in society based on what is clearly an EQUITY CRISIS FALLACY! The nations of history have been predominantly ethnic nations, correct? Prospect nations are the exception to the rule, and they tend not to last very long correct? I believe ethnic nations are God's order and design. Do you believe ethnic nations mirror the Kingdom of God?, or just racially diverse ones? Do you believe families disfigure or mar the Kingdom of God if they are not racially diverse? Do you believe Native Americans or any other native peoples should be forced to intermarry because God expects it? Most nations are still ethnic nations that by necessity discriminate against foreigners! They must do this to maintain their cultural and ethnic hegemony against the threat of total dissolution. This explains why ethnic church's self segregate and why it is painful and immoral to deny them this natural impulse. Is there also a gender equity crisis in your thinking? Lots of Christians believe Paul attacked the idea of gender and race but all this does is impose modern political ideas on his writings. If we aren't careful we can argue ourselves in a complete circle.
Who stands to gain from these segregations? What exactly are the segregations you are referring to? Can you be specific?
I see people searching for a comfortable Jesus. They aren't interested in taking up their cross, and following Jesus, they're looking for personal attention and glory. Religious institutions and congregations have become religious social clubs.
Thank you both for putting into words what my heart has grieved over the last 8 years and what has happened to the Church. The Church is fractured and It has been revealing how many Christians have allowed their politics to guide their theology. I pastored in Texas for 6 years during this period and have since left for more parachurch ministry because of how disheartening this revelation has been. Thank you both for sharing your experience and validating what many of us in the church have observed.
Thank you for sharing this!
You vannot denounce nationalist Christians while being a Christian. Its the act of a coward
Yea, that’s pretty accurate. Nationalism is a form of advocation for a nation, which is fundamentally defined by racial and more specifically, ethnic distinction and commonality.
True, and I don’t even believe in science or the bible
Your father is a genius..
MAGA IS NOT A CULT BUT SIMPLY A WAY TO GALVANIZE PEOPLE TO VOTE TO ACHIEVE A POLITICAL END BECAUSE THE ALTERNATIVE IS TO SUPPORT RIGHTS FOR ABORTION CULT,LGBTQt cult, war cult,DEI CULT,AND OTHER HATEFULL CULTIC MOVEMENT THAT IS AGAINIST GOD. ANY PASTOR SUPPORTING LIBERALISM AND CAN NOT SPEAK IN TONGUES IS AN ASPOSTATE. SOCIAL JUSTICE IN THE WAY IT IS BEING PROMOTED IS GOING TO LEAD TO THE DEATH OF THE GOSPEL AND ALL CHRISTIANS BECAUSE CHRISTIANITY IS BEING BLAMED FOR ALL INJUSTICES IN THE WORLD.
Salt is also an irritant. Can't be a good Christian without irritating!
She is Absolutely right!
This is the cope of ignorance
Such a good message you are doing great work
Just because you know what is true and you express that and that puts you solidly on one end or in one Camp of the argument doesn't make you an extremist it just makes you correct about your assertion
Exactly God bless us all
Excellent show, thank you both for the work you do!
nihilist fake pastor spouts pure hate

The guy responding is not very smart.
The only misinformation is spread by the religious fanatics.
These guys are the religious left.
I seem to be getting a lot of these morons who pretend to know about faith. I wonder who funds these Clowns. The scientific community has no credibility since Covid.
Caleb, great interview. Elizabeth sure knows her stuff. Have you considered building an army of former / recovering CN's to assist you in your ministry?
I remember those initiatives. They were designed to get the churches dependent on government money, and when it worked they demanded the church believe and perform same sex weddings or lose the funding. Whose faith were those initiatives based on?
It is a perfect definition that sound political. And that is causing hostile behavior against those who fight against exploitation.
Is the Woke movement an ideologically driver an agenda?
YHWH is going to punish you
100% right, I grew up in that environment, a friend of mine who we grew up together in the 70s and now in mid 60s said to me Jack we are the lost generation, everybody used us, but nobody cared about us, and still don't care, they ruined lives....
patriotic debt? never heard that term ever before in my life
This is such a weird definition. Have you engaged with anyone in conversation that is educated and uses this title to see where the push back is? Have you read anything from Christians who defend this view?
Totally false.
👍
I already have a book written about getting away from facts, and an alternative of break down and psychological questioning, but nobody cares. They only want to argue, and then complain about christians provoking them and then christians never listening and just arguing fallacies.
You live here because your ancestors came from across the ocean, just like the people you hate and discriminate against. This country is for anyone who wants to come and make a life for themselves. You are selling hatred and ignorance.
