My goal with this channel is to share my knowledge of the Sur-Ron / Segway bikes as well as sharing rides and showing what this awesome bike can do!
I grew up on 2 wheels and am still as excited as ever to hit a trail. I have both a Mtn. Bike and Dirt Bike background
These bikes have the full capability to compete with gassers in the woods and any tight tracks, and I can tell you from experience, gassers do not like being beat in the woods on their 300's, by a scrawny looking electric bike!
I am much faster with less effort than I ever was on my KTM 300!
These are the future in tight single track!
Please subscribe,
Thanks,
Steve Schwerma

GoPro9 crashed, replaced with DJI Osmo Action 4. First ride using it. Great ride on Surron Ultra Bee
This video is my first time using the Action 4. There is also footage that I didn't get (forgot to turn on) and uploaded footage from a GoPro Hero 12 that Todd was riding with. I was riding with the settings on superwide, 4k at 50 fps. All other settings were on auto. I really like the long battery life as I only used 2 batteries on this ride as well as the clip on camara mount.
Please let me know what you think of the footage with this camara.
There is also footage of a bull elk running out in front of me towards the end of the video.

Great day of riding on some new trails with some good riders. I wasn't sure how the Ultra would do on the super steep hill climbs, but It surprised me once again as it did better than the rider for sure. We ended up going 19 miles and I surprisingly still had 42% of battery left! Skip took a few tumbles on the hill climb and hurt his knee pretty bad and may be out for the season. Hoping he heal...

We met up with Josh and his Stark Varg and rode some trails here in North Idaho. We ran into another Stark (Matt Spears) and a light Bee. What are the odds, as I have never seen another electric bike on the trails since I have had my Ultra.

Skip and I met up with a father and son (Jet and Gunner) out of Montana for a ride. Both are very capable riders and we had a great ride! We nicknamed Gunner the "Switchback Kid" as he was nailing all the switchbacks of which some were pretty technical.

Another great ride with Blind Lemon Pie on our local trails 10 minutes from each of our houses. I also installed a steering damper which I think really helped with deflection on the rocky and rooty hill climbs. I also installed an EnduroWorx sprocket guard which I am really happy to install as I have had a chain come off hitting a rock.

2 Hour enduro race on Surron Ultra Bee In North Idaho at Mountain Mafia Ranch
มุมมอง 1.1K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was my first race in 15 years and I got my butt kicked, but I did finish. There was a lot of broken bikes, egos and riders who did not finish. The first lap sucked for a lot of riders, including me as there was no pre-run and a lot of freshly cut trail. The Ultra performed flawlessly and the Kenda Equilibrium rear tire worked incredibly well! I was super surprised at the range after 2 hour...

Great last trail and solo ride in 32 degree weather. I ran into all conditions during the ride. I couldn't believe the traction with a season old tires with over 400 miles on them. I think the cold affected my range as it wasn't quite as good as usual. GoPro did not like the cold at all as only 1/2 the footage worked.

What are you typically running for tire pressure?
10 in both tires
These lasted my wife 1 ride. She fell in the dirt and the impact to the bars bent these super easily. Very unsatisfied
That sucks! I rode with mine the whole season with multiple crashes and have had no issue. I would get hold of Warp 9 and see if they will replace.
@schreddersworld1050 yeah at first I thought she bent her bars but then I went to swap and realized the thin sides where the hinge is, tweaked on the side she dumped.
“They git harder?” … and Supertrack 🤙🏼
Good talking with you and just got off the phone with the skipper You guys rip up those are some pretty awesome trails you have in your neck of the woods I think the audio is great and your narration and voice excellent However, it seems the video is too fishy. I’m not sure what I like. The old style better but maybe after a few beers.
Video looks amazing, especially for 50 frames a minute ha ha
What setup is on Todd's Husky? Sounds like a rekluse and I thought I saw two levers? Clake?
Rekluse, Ox-Brake left hand rear brake and a Mako360 bar damper.
Love my SXS handguards. I need to make it over your way eventually. If you are headed into western Montana any time to ride, let me know.
That would be nice! 🤠
Will do and visa versa.
Like those trails!! 45:00 engage front hub drive and crawl mode.
i can hit 60 mph on my stock ultra bee 2024 model with the new upgraded motor
I have a 13 size on my boots, do you think that pedal is too short? Also, do you know if it will work with a Torp Controller?
I am pretty sure there is an extension for the foot brake. not sure if it will work with a Torp.
Id love to come ride with you guys, im in Spokane. Have a build lite bee😊

I'm thinking about going to Salt Lake City on Oct 5th for that Sirius suspension demo that charged cycle is having, probably long drive for you though, hope Skip is OK!
That should be fun and informative. Let me know what you think.
Another fun ride in the woods Schredder. Mikes wheelie up that steep section was nutty! Three weeks on crutches for me...
Matt Spears is a legend!
Very considerate of you to let Skips air filter go first.
I thought so too. LOL!
Subscribed! Need some rain on that trail! Hard to tell how steep some of that single track is but seems like it based on the performance. My Ultra Bee is a single-track beast compared to my 250lb KTM, how did the UB do compared to those larger bikes? Those trails look fun! If you have time, check out my channel for more Surron Ultra Bee single track action.
I owned a KTM 200 and 300 and rode the exact same trails. To me the UB is far superior in every way except suspension and range which is really not an issue on the rides I do. I will be buying the Sirris suspension this winter, then the bike should be even more incredible.
Thanks for subscribing, I will definitely check out your channel and subscribe as well.
@@schreddersworld1050 Just watched Electric Cycle Rider on the Sirris suspension - that is the one single most upgrade I want but dang the cost is crazy. For now, I am waiting for the Warp 9 Flex Bar Mount which will give me a tad bit of absorption but also open up my cockpit better so I am not crouching as much when I stand. Cheap quick upgrade that could help. I'm like you though, range and power is fine, I am usually tired before the battery is depleted. The Sirris or other fork/shock is a solid way to go IMO.
@@gctrails The flex mount is awesome except for a little creeking noise after a few rides from the hinges. It made a huge difference though as far as impact and jarring. I know the suspension is a lot, but I think it is worth for a serious rider.
You thinking about getting the Sirris Suspension??
Yes! Definitely! I plan on getting it and installing during the winter break. I can't wait!
WOW, don't know how I missed this video. That's some gnarly climbing, even looking steep on camera. Great job!!
Thanks Jet! Definitely a challenging hill in those conditions for sure!
At a setting of .9 with a 21F and 18R I've found that the speedo/odo is about 10% optimistic.
Those trails were sure a blast. Gunner rips!
Thanks for all the great footage and memories from that day. It was awesome to meet both Schredder and Skip. That was an epic day, a fun challenging ride, great temperatures and we got to meet two great riding buddies with lots of skills. Gunner and I will certainly be coming back to Idaho, and yes your Ultra Bee rips, I want one for myself.
Those trails are so fun! I was just visiting for the Fourth of July and was Fortunate enough to find that little gem. Great Riding!
How much performance was lost with the added weight? Do you still like the bike set up this was as compared to stock?
I am sure that I lost some power with the added weight, but it still has all the power that I need for single track. I never rode the bike with the stock wheels and tires, so I can't compare. I am sure they are a great improvement though. As far as the handlebars, risers and damper, it feels way better than stock. Hope this helps.
I just ordered a 54 tooth and a chain but then I got carried away and bought a Torp 1000 controller. $2300 in Australia! My Ultra Bee had a 18 rear wheel so I just need a 21 inch front and some tires. Maybe some of those bar mounts and dropped pegs and I've got a perfect bike! I'll fix my hernia and cataracts and sell all the petrol bikes for a fresh restart:) Thanks for the inspiration:)
Nice! I don't think you will be disappointed. Heal fast and happy riding! Glad to help!
Now that you have a few miles on the chain conversion, have you noticed any effect on range good or bad? Im starting to get some noise from the belt but will finish the season before i install the conversion. Thanks!
I think the range is a bit better, but not by much. I definitely have peace of mind though.
@@schreddersworld1050 yes, the belt is starting to make me nervous with >300 mi now.
So you lost a bunch of top end, my bikes hit 63mph stock flat road
I may have lost top end speed but gained a lot of bottom end torque. That is important for the type of riding I do in which I hardly ever hit 40 mph.
@@schreddersworld1050 I hit 40 plus on single track on mine
@@Nnnn-h4n Nice!
Nice ride, thanks. I am 63 years old, waiting for my second ride on my Ultra Bee this weekend. I am hoping to test some of the tight PA woods single track that I used to do pretty well on with the Light Bee. it will be a good comparison. I also post some Surron youtube videos. Watching your ride videos is a great alternative to television!
I rode a light bee for 3 years and love the Ultrabee way more. So good in the tight and technical single track. I'll check out your vids. Thanks for watching mine!
I'm so jealous of all the riding spots you have over there! I need to make a trip over from Montana sometime this summer.
We are very lucky for sure! Absolutely! Let me know and we'll go ride.
Another great ride Schredder. You were on it! I think your new steering damper calmed the front end down.
Definitely a fun ride! I think so too. I felt much more control in the rocky and rooty stuff. 😎
I just put on 21/19 and a Torp TC1000 controller on my Bee. I might go and check out that trail this week.
Do you use traction control at all when riding trails like that?
@@jasonclark4949 I've never tried it.
Can that bike be programmed for variable Regen with a thumb throttle?
I am not sure. I have never seen anyone do it.
@@schreddersworld1050 I use variable Regen on my bikes and have seen it on Sur Ron but it depends if the controller supports variable Regen.
@@rufusirvin5279 I just use the standard 1-5 on the bike display. I pretty much keep it the same depending on what terrain I am riding. I have the stock controller.
as soon as i get my bike i would love to come ride with you and some of the guys you ride with. spokane here
Sounds good, let me know when you're ready to rip.
You can email me at schredder@peoplepc.com when you're ready to ride and I will pass along my phone number.
Hi Schredder, Like you, I'm a senior rider who's moved to the ultra bee from combustion bikes. Also I'm dealing with elbow tendinitis which was my primary motivation to go electric. My clutch hand has definitely had enough abuse. I put some higher bars on my bee, I'm right at 6 foot, (maybe a little too high as the front wheel gets pretty light) and was considering some cushion like your trying. Can those flex mounts be used without the riser blocks? Could go back to the lower stock bars and use the additional riser but prefer the bend on aftermarket bars. Anyway just wondering how that cushion is working out longer term? Thanks for the updates on your modification. The bee sure makes riding fun again!
Yeah, the achilles heel of the Ultra Bee is that short wheelbase, great in the tight switchbacks, not so much on the rougher terrain & when pointed uphill. Updated suspension will help some & make the bike more comfortable overall, but that 53.5" wheelbase will always be an issue going up when it's loose & rough. Great trails you've got right out the door - youre lucky.
There is definitely give and takes to the short wheelbase. Rough terrain is not a problem in general. Mainly steep, rocky hill climbs are the problem. I did put a steering damper on yesterday and rode some technical trails today. I think it helps a lot with the deflecting problems that I was having with the techy hill climbs. I do plan on upgrading the suspension next winter. Yes, we are very lucky for sure to have quality trails so close to home.
Ive been singing the praises of a damper for the UB since day one ! Those should've been standard equipment from the factory - completely changes the bike for the better. Mine had some air in the system when new & had a 'dead' spot in the middle - it's easy to swap out the crappy oil for some 5wt fork oil & put the cap on without getting air in. @@schreddersworld1050
@@sidluxurious7816 I agree! It works great and seriously helps the deflection problems.
Imagine how easy it would be with AWD. The torque and traction is incredible and hard to beat. Nice trails you have there they look well used. Here in Yukon all we have are old mining roads, some forestry roads and trapper trails that are very seldom used so a lot more bushwacking involved.
Great Job! Are you using the stock battery?
Thanks! Yes
when in doubt throttle out!
Where did you buy the spare battery? And how much?
On one of the Surron Ultra Bee Facebook groups. $1500 + $100 for shipping
Ok well I pulled the trigger and got one. I am in Hayden so maybe we’ll run into each other on the trail. What size rear sprocket do you run? Did you notice a difference in your range?
Congrats! Sure, it would be fun to ride with another Ultra rider. A 53 tooth is way better on range if you are doing tight single track trails. I changed to a 54 for better pop for going over logs and roots, but the range goes down a little bit.
@@schreddersworld1050 Well I want to ride Canfield quite a bit with it. Would you suggest 52, 53 or 54? I am going to order a larger one this week and give it a whirl
@@jasonclark4949 I would go with a 54 for trails like Canfield.
@@schreddersworld1050 I went with a 54T, heavier rear spring, roller chain, and I just bought the TC1000 controller (not yet installed). I have 19/21 tire/wheel combo coming and I put bar risers on it. I think I am almost ready to go rip some trails. You riding anytime soon?
@@jasonclark4949 Cool! I'm stoked for you! Let me know when you're ready. My email is schredder@peoplepc.com
Would you get it again having a light bee or are they too similar? I’d like one but they are awfully close to ktm 150 money once you do a few upgrades.
I would get an Ultra Bee all over again for sure. I love this bike! The Light Bee was a bit too small for me and underpowered compared to the Ultra which will climb any hill I want.
I am in Hayden Idaho and have been thinking about one of these. Do you run it in Daily mode or Sport mode most of the time when you do your range tests?
I have been running it in sport mode since last year.
I have found that there is little difference in range between D and S modes.
