That is not the rear seat. Its a cowel. The rear seat it comes with is very big actually. It replaces that cowel if u desire.

laptimer is shit - it should take the reading from gps, not you have to tick the button manually... navigation- shit as-well- whats a point to have nav on on my phone to have it on dash- i just than can use my phones nav (not bmw crap directions only).

I recently got one my2023 and it is a beast. Coming from a cross plane crank on the MT-10, I love the v4 sound of the Aprilia more. The QS only works on higher than 3k rpm - it even turns orange to tell you it is not working below that.

those valve cover gaskets probably need to be replaced, otherwise that lower front cylinder will leak. Also they need heavier battery and starter cables, but other than that, these are very strong reliable machines!

Alloy or carbon wheel its an expensive mistake to crack one… the alloy ones are forged and nearly as costly….. all academic because your insurance should take care of this.

Unless you are going on Track I think this bike is fairly pointless in Britain.

Would you take the M1000R Comp over the 2023 Streetfighter V4S? So similar in spec, tech and price. I love the V4 engine, single sided swing arm and some other bits of the Ducati. However this has so many upgraded extra with all the carbon for the same price as a new Streetfighter. I've sat on the V4S and an S1000R (didn't have the M in stock), however I cannot test ride them, my left leg doesn't work very well and my bikes require an electronic shift controller.

Does the linked sat nav allow for use of offline maps or is it online-only and thus uses up your phone's data plan?

If any of you guys have a problem with the dash no longer illuminating you can take apart the dash and try moving the pins around. The clip allows the el panel to vibrate and it wear’s through.

These will never be worth that much for the simple reason that the maintenance costs are fixed costs, as the 848 and 899 depreciate they'll always push the price of this down.

Best school is beginner's racing school, learn to handle bike properly, wheelies become simple once you get to know bikes limits and yours. With skills everything is easier faster and safer. Just kn9w class i took yrs ago was best learning experience ever, and i had ridden yrs before taking it. Was best investment i ever made

Awesome vid! Been looking at picking up one of these used. I used to look at the posters and article of these in magazines when I was a teenager and now being able to pick them up in great shape for under $10k is too tempting. Surprised there is so little content available on TH-cam regarding these bikes.

My 999s is simply the best bike I've ever owned - and that's coming from all of these which I've owned in the last 3 years: Ducati monster 1100evo / Ducati 1098 / Ducati 1198 / 2013 Ducati 1199s Panigale / 2006 Honda CBR1000RR / 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R / 2014 Yamaha R1 / 2013 Aprilia Rsv4 / 2004 Yamaha R1 / 2007 Kawasaki ZX-14 999s is just beyond anything I could have ever hoped for. P.s. I fitted a cheapy gear position indicator and it works 100%, plus I use the 'choke' (not actually a choke but it opens the throttle a little for cold starts) regularly while riding as a brilliant cruise control.

Always been a dream bike of mine since I was a kid, now as a 6ft 4 bloke I doubt I’ll fit on one 😭 how tall are you just for reference? And what’s it like comfort wise, it would only be a weekend toy for the odd hour or two blast

I’m new to the world of bikes, always admired from afar but always been a classic car guy. I must admit I’m really drawn to the 749, not sure whether it’s the right bike for a 53yr old ‘newbie’ but I’m just soooo tempted, should I do it?!

Can you fold the mirrors? I have a 2022 S1000RR and track days I just fold them in - great for commuting also. Not sure the bar ends fold?
