Hi! Thank you, Thank you! This is soooooo true in healthcare/bedside nursing. What you have said is so true! I’m not a new grad, I do travel nurse and let me tell you it’s such a prejudice against travel/agency nursing. Everything you said has happened to me. And everyday I struggle with going to work. It wasn’t just by accident I came across your video, it was for a reason. Thank you!

Well said young woman. Sad that many nurses are feeling this way. I am rwtired after 46 years service, saw this creeping in a few decades ago, its immoral. Bless you for speaking up and mainly, for caring. Bless you and yours.

Unfortunately only a nurse can understand. It’s PTSD. It’s debilitating. And going for a Masters degree and administrative nursing is not better.

I would give kudos to u for deciding a new path. But it is more so from itemizing all these things u experienced as an RN. There are truth to this regardless of which state u worked at. Just think about those immigrant nurses working here in US to start their life as an RN. I was once in that shoe. I am a nurse for 23 yrs now in Acute care setting. I am not saying "I know it all" even. I always think that learning is dynamic. What u r saying is really legit. I see nurses n the mgt. side doing these to nurses even with experienced RNs. My body has taken a toll on me and I am making steps of leaving Acute Care field soon. I love this job but on the contrary, m starting to lose my affection to it. Seldom u get appreciated by patients n their family or even the mgt. I am losing my confidence bc I work slow due to medical condition n surgery. I too am scared if no 1 will hire me bc I am in my 50's already. This is what I am dealing with these days😢 Again, just want to congratulate u for being strong n u chose ur own path.❤

Young lady I want to thank you for making this video. I experienced all of this and more. It caused me a lot of trauma and loss. I am seeing more and more nurses coming out to expose this culture. It’s good because it lets nurses know this is about them, it’s the system. We need to spend some time and energy figuring out what we can do to create a system that works for us and supports us. The hospitals can not work without us. Individually we are weak. Together nurses can demand changes.

Ashley, you have hit all the right points about Nursing. It is not what it used to be. It has become toxic in certain areas especially Bedside Nursing. You do get overworked, disrespected, unfairness, and emotionally abused. It does make you have a lot of anxiety. The workload sometimes can cause you to not get your bathroom breaks, Lunch break in a timely fashion. Then you have the Nurses in their groups who get preferential treatment. So, they get the easier assignments which now gives them time to go sit at the Nurses Station to chitchat while you are struggling with your heavy assignment. It does not phase them one bit to go give you a hand so that you can catch up. It’s as if they get pleasure in seeing you struggle and drown in your work. I am happy for you that you were able to get out of Bedside Nursing and that you found something better to relieve your anxiety and stress!

The government needs to make this type of treatment and short staffing illegal in the health industry. It is only going to gets worse. Remember you have options where you want to work as a nurse. Toxic work environment can result to potential danger to your license. Your license first before any nursing job. Always follow your intuition. I am so proud of you. You made the right decision.❤ RN for 27 years.

I quit 6 months in. Got a “soft girl nursing” job then went right back to bedside … ER . Because even in soft girl jobs, when an emergency hits and you don’t do the right thing ur still liable. Be careful with ur nursing liscence guys . Nursing never was and will never be easy. But I would like to hear from u guys what soft nursing jobs do you do? Did you leave the field ? Put me on ❤ Edit: to piggyback off you I was also a CNA and a PCA . Yes the stress from being now a leader it’s very tough. I use to just do my job go home and tell the nurse everything so she can figure it out. Now I have to be the one to prioritize. And it takes time. Everyone will bully you. I really hope u give it a second chance. I’m going to watch to see if you have any updates. What are you doing now ?

I wanna send this vid to all the toxic managers, secretaries, supervisors, nurses n pcts out there that made my nurse experience hell. U are not alone n this same experience is ALOT of our stories. I'm 53 an LPN. I absolutely hate the house politics IE... don't tell any visitors or patients family we are short staffed. Please do your charting and med pass and admissions and................... Patients having their SNACKS taken away by the facility due to BUDGET CUTS ( MANAGEMENT BONUSES.) Meals for the patients are SH*T. Nurses are gaslit. We have to eat crap from families of patients rude , bullying and absolutely insane entitlement. I voice my opinions I don't care who likes it or not. I moved to 7p to 7am. To keep from having to look and deal with management. I stay tired and feel unhealthy some days. I have to pray , ask God to forgive me for my shortcomings. I have to pray not to reach out and hurt someone for being an a$$. This job is the worst mistake I ever made. NOW, with that said I have made connections and have met some incredible patients. I still don't think that's a fair exchange due to my health. My last job admissions wanted to dump a critical patient on me when I had too many acute patients to deal with safely and professionally . I ask for help. I didn't get it. I told the DON take the keys I'm not losing my FUC(&% LICENSE. Now I'm at another job working 3rd. The aggravation has lessoned but I feel so tired. You are spot ON. ITS A BUSINESS WITH OUT COMPASSION TOWARDS STAFF AND PATIENTS. Buying my time until 62.

I just watched your video and it was like listening to my experience as an RN at a specialty hospital. I toughed it for 4 years and kept stringing myself along, saying it will get better with this new Supervisor or it will get better with this new manager, but it never did. I gave my all and more to support the team and my patients and was always chosen to be the preceptor for all the new hires because of my patient, thorough work ethic. I never wanted anyone to feel alone or unsupported while they were working with me. I also worked nights. I was approached to be a supervisor, took the job for 19 days and resigned to go back to the floor. The politics, culture and environment were “all about the money honey!” I finally reached my limit and resigned from that job. I’ve been home for 2 years caring for my sick husband. I need to get back into the workforce and have been really feeling guilty about not going back to nursing. Your video has helped me make a decision today and I thank you for sharing your experience. It’s been very inspiring to know that I’m not alone in my feelings and that there’s light at the end of the tunnel 😊 Thanks again!

WHAT is up with nursing for real? I recently heard a theory that states, (and I’m paraphrasing here) All the people who were school bullies somehow end up being nurses and, the more I hear these stories, the more I believe it. This stuff is absolutely insane and that nurse with the blood transfusion was straight up petty. I’m sorry you even encountered a nurse like that, some people don’t shouldn’t to be in this field and it’s so sad because, nurses like that are pushing away the nurses who actually love it. Been an LPN for 5 years, going for my RN and then the bedside will NEVER see my face again. Great video, new sub ❤
