This is why i play 4x4 tic tac toe with mis amigos
so if every move that the first player makes will end in a draw, and the first player knows this then isn't there 0 games of tic-tac-toe? as the first player doesn't care about drawing?
Idk if this happens to everyone but yeah when i played this game when i was younger i always noticed that this game is hella more biased to the player who plays first intuitively and also that if both players are good, it always ends in draw
I knew this when i started playing this game when i was a kid, i saw that all the games were essentially the same especially when both players are good, always ends in draw
bro putting x in the corner is better than in the middle
3:38 pp
The only way to win is not to play.
5:09 why would X play a side move instead of an corner move? theres no logical reason why to play a side move as you can potentially set up a fork when you always play an corner move on your 2nd move as X
The only way to win is not to play.
I just wasted 7 minutes of my life
3:43 that's not a small mistake, that kind of breaks the video. I have a math degree and I'm a terrible coder but you if you make a mistake like that you can't just skip that. That's so essential to calculating how many games there are you totally botched it. I'm only at that point in the video and I haven't seen the rest but it doesn't look like you're going to fix it.
If the middle is prohibited, the corners are still too powerful.
it took me like 20 minutes when i was like 8th grade to figure out corner move is the best starting move
Ok so in the part were u played the 3 games so 6:23 the top 2 games are the same. Optimal 2nd move for X would be opposite corner of his 1st move this is because if O goes in a corner he looses but if he goes on a side he draws.
have you heard of tic-tac-toe to the power of 2? its tictactoe inside tictactoe squares, the player who starts can choose a square on the main tic tac toe board, then once he places his shape on the small tictac toe, then the second player can place his shape on a different main square that is represented by the square that the first player placed his shape on, example: there is 81 total squares, each 9 (making a tic tac toe square) are separated, when for example in the larger tic tac toe i choose the middle square, and place X on the left middle square, the next player will have to place o anywhere in the left middle square of the larger board and so on, if one player wins one of the smaller squares, that square will become his shape, capture 3 squares in a row, though you have to think forward, like what your oponent will do if you send him on a specific place, IF you win a square by placing your shape on the square that would send the oponent to the square that you just won, you can instead choose where you want to send him. some may call this super tic tac toe, but i changed the rules a bit and i call it tic-tac-toe to the power of 2.
the music is unsettling
Your making me emotional over a fucking rickroll
starting with an angle is better than the center because you get more chances to make a fork
Should’ve added a MATLAB jump scare disclaimer
DUDE have you ever heared of ''Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe'' - Totalforget ?
6:22-6:26 the opposite side the X was on, on it’s third move, it could take, which ALMOST corners O, because unless O goes for a side piece, it is not going to be able to win… I might be wrong here, though…. But it’s what I use on my cousin all the time in order to win.
Acutally there is only two ways to play tic tac toe, first move goes in center, second goes either in corner, then its draw, or the second goes in side middle, then the first player wins q:
the day I realized that tic tac toe was hella deterministic of a game, I stopped playing entirely.
i'd join a discord
Why do the games sound so funny
Can't we fix it? 6:36
i thought i was O 3:49
Your sons are lucky to have someone as thoughtful, vulnerable yet secure as yourself as their father. In a world that's keen on stepping backwards and being pervaded by the worst personalities for boys / young men to emulate, it's especially important for us to set a better example for those in our lives, who look up to us.
I loved it when you called it a terrible game lol
When you are math , cs and music triple major
I just want to say that I've been really heartened by the survey responses I've gotten from you all! Apparently the people who watch my channel are really lovely. Here's the link in case you want to fill it out too: cumulonimbus.marcevanstein.com/index.php/apps/forms/dncb9imRynscapyD
how many people actually filled in the form so far?
Like 35? A lot more than I was expecting to be honest, and quite thoughtfully.
could you create a Discord comunity?
Sure seems like I should!
after 30s here's my thought: it's a fourier serie that converges to a rick roll. Bingo !
I expected a rickroll I feel disapointed
You didn't hear it?!!?!?? 3:25
Ho you voted on?
Lovely thank you for giving me a goood morning
Your channel is great, but I don't understand what are the scary things you talk about. The world has never looked as bright as today. Maybe get rid of some propaganda, stop watching bs! TRUMP 2024
I try to avoid both left-wing propaganda and right-wing propaganda, because both are bad for the information environment, but it is genuinely hard for me to fathom how a second Trump term can feel bright to anyone. That said, this is not the conversation I want to have here, on this video. This video is for people who are (I think very reasonably) scared and dispirited. If you actually want to have a real conversation about this, fill out the survey I linked to and include your e-mail. Because I truly want to understand what your background is, and media you are consuming, so that you feel the way you do.
im a trans girl, i love music from algorithms and i love ur channel <3
You know, this seems to be a demographic! I'm on Mastodon, and there's a pretty sizable trans creative coding community there (especially on certain instances). What I'm learning from some of the survey responses, is that this demographic is more present in my YT audience than I realized!
hi im also one of those :3
Find reasons to live again. Find reasons to care & survive. Even if it's just out of pure spite, wanting to outlive the next 4 years. And take time to cross things off your bucket list. Make good food. Enjoy things as if you might not make it through the next 4 years. Also btw I'm nonbinary! Glad to be in the channel minority lol.
Hey, the gender of 1.4% of my audience is "User-specified", so there must be a few others like you! But yeah, I tend to agree; being sad and scared is totally understandable, but it's not especially helpful. Some very bad people have risen to power in a political sense, but let's not let them have power over us emotionally too.
Feel this a lot, feeling little reason to keep “surviving” at all .. I’ve made it this far already but like just why .. atleast before there was some sense of general improvement overall..
So bautiful Video! I'm not from the USA but still feal what you mean. What ever you decide for the comunity I'll follow. (This is part what I look for on the Internet.)
It's felt pretty acute for those of us in the USA over the last week or so, but I wasn't necessarily making this just for Americans!
I think it would be really hard to build a community out of a majority of any audience on TH-cam, most viewers are here for dopamine with some occasional introspection at the end in comments. That said, a subset of people interested in non TH-cam content and or sharing their common interests related to the channel would likely enjoy a discord server. I really appreciate this video and your voting videos, I also learned a lot dispite the outcome not going as desired. Thanks for providing a place for our brains to be distracted and comforted, your content is mesmerizing :)
No I think an IRC site where you can just join and chat would be better or something like matrix discord isnt really targetted at this audience
@tomikun8057 I'm not sure what kind of community can be built on IRC sites as I have never used one. I guess I don't fit your idea of community here, sad times.
Thank you for this! I have really enjoyed all of your content since I found you through the music with circles videos. It inspired a much needed project idea for a foundations of computer science class I'm in. I wanted to share it incase it was something you might be interested in making a video from. I'm designing an algorithm/method to create melodies from strands of DNA. I've found a bunch of papers with interesting ideas that connect patterns in biology to musical concepts for composition. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your inspiring creativity! And on a separate note, creating a discord server could be a good way to build a community.
0:30 i am at fear and uncertainty of whether i am gonna get rickrolled or not
Ron Howard: "He was"
The add saved me from the potential rickroll, now should i risk it and watch the video
Yes you should
This is a lovely little video. Thank you
I'm always looking for cool online interactive tools like all the new things desmos can do and microtonal syths. There could be discord or subreddit to share these kinds of creations.
Lovely video
There is no final end state. The wheel keeps turning. The game goes on, and you only lose when you stop playing. Don't do anything stupid.
This reminds me of something ive read in a book. Life is a game. One that never ends. Without a true 'ending' to the game, there is no winning it. When people try to 'win' said game, they make decisions that are shortsighted. Or just plain foolish. So, that inadvertently causes them to lose the game. The closest 'win' condition there is, is by keep playing the game even when others have lost.
I volunteer with a non-profit that offers free appliance repair clinics. Just people getting together helping each other in our local community. That really helped this weekend to just do good things and talk to people who were feeling the same feelings I was.
