Thank you! I don't watch OK state but I've been trying to understand what's going on with Ollie this year.

back again looking at the LB's. #12 is active, atleast he's got that going for him. But he fails to add meaningful value. Very rarely does he manage to beat a block and he doesn't understand angles. Doesn't help he has little chemistry with #8. And boy I'm tagging him as slow after this. He will get destroyed in space. See the coverage rep against the TE. Maybe he can develop, like I said the other game he isn't being shown coverage tehcniques. Not coached right. Solid in run game.

Anyways, came initially for LB #8. Man is hella long. And strong, easily working some oline men. Often lined up at edge - he can set it but he can't rush for shit. No acceleration whatsoever. He has some longspeed I think, strides are massive due to his size. As a run LB I want him on my team I think. He isn't getting proper coaching (the whole defense has some weird structural mistakes or cornerbacks playing wrong technique), so he looks lost in coverage when he has to read the QB. if he has an assignment he's okay.. maybe.. but that ain't cutting it in the NFL. Also was pleasantly surprised by the corners untill the end when they were getting beat left and right. Esp #2, had fine start as slot.

Usually I check these things beforehand but th LB at the start next to Barton #8 is wearing #12. Could that be Karene Reid or is it someone else?

I am beyond underwhelmed by the Boose State offensive line in the run game. He is getting met at or behind the kine damn enar every single play. Penn State's D kine, especially zane durant, coziah izzard and D'von J thomas are gonna feast up the middle.

Mbow is a perfect fit for Green Bay

Man, as a fan of OU, I’ll never know what 2024 might’ve been if they just got a hire right, or injuries didn’t pile up. The offense was COMPLETELY gone this year it’s a damn shame because when I watch a lot of their games from this year, the first thing I notice is when this defense has a chance to get going, it was going and it never stopped. It’s a damn shame the other side of the ball couldn’t keep up. Brents gotta have a great year next year. All things considered this defense played more than damn well enough to win this game.

I came here to watch Burden because I wasn’t impressed watching tape of another game. Then I suddenly watch 11 for Alabama, just being everywhere for the first 3 quarters. Very impressive for him.

Abdul Carter: I mean this guy’s gotta be the freakiest of the freaks in this draft right? Obviously rough at times on this tape for him but in terms of sheer talent, I think he’s without peer in this class. First of all, this dude is faster than Parsons. Straight up. And he has every bit of the bend and change of direction that Parsons has. The get off is…insane. The ability to dip and turn the corner and immediately flatten…insane. The fluidity, the twitchiness, the ability to move and change direction in space…insane. Obviously the size isn’t ideal but he does play bigger than his size with the amount of force he’s able to generate with his speed and leverage, especially when he has a runway and is rushing from the 9 or off the ball. He’s definitely lean and fits that speed rusher archetype in terms of body type, but this is a violent football player who does have the capacity to put big guys flat on their asses. Now obviously the discipline and awareness in the run game in terms of gap integrity is far from ideal at this point. The hand usage is fairly rudimentary. He doesn’t really have much in the way of counters at this point. Most of the time he rushes without a plan. Etc, etc. He was also on his backside way too much in this game. But the bottom line is this guy is absolutely ridiculous - way too freaky athletically and way too naturally talented as a football player to get out of the top 5 probably and certainly he won’t fall below 10. The GM who has him outside of the top 10 either has no clue what they’re looking at OR has some sort of non-football related concern.

Hooo boy…that was a NASTY spin move @ 11:24. Pretty impressive to make Will Campbell completely whiff like that. And then coming back and just roasting Emory Jones inside from the 4i with the little jab step and head fake combo @ 12:09. And then again working against Jones @ 13:31, working half a man, controlling the outside hand and then ripping through and flattening enough to capture the edge and make the play. He doesn’t have crazy bend. He’s not Abdul Carter in that sense. But he has enough that when combined with his other traits I do think he can be a real problem at the next level. Obviously needs to refine his hand usage and develop counters beyond the spin move but very talented.

@ 5:46, this is a beautiful run stop. Great job reading this; starts getting upfield in a hurry but quickly recognizes what’s happening with the pulling guard coming across and then perfectly times up the outside fake and explodes back inside with the club move and blows this thing up in the backfield - you love the display of athleticism but also football instincts and awareness here. I don’t know if this has been kind of a steady progress thing that’s been happening throughout the season or if the coaches were just really emphasizing the run game to him this week but he was so much more aware and gap sound vs the run here than what I saw in games against Mizzou and Notre Dame. Other than the bad one late where he got a little overeager when he got eyes on the back and tried to beat the blocker inside and gave up edge, Scourton was really good against the run here. Watching those Mizzou and Notre Dame tapes I had serious concerns about him in the run game both in terms of being aware and seeing it on time but also in terms of overall interest level, as at times I got the feeling watching those games that he was almost playing with blinders on and had a single-minded notion that the job of an edge rusher is simply about the pursuit of the quarterback. It’s really good to see the improvement there.

now that i rewatch this, honestly Nuss wasnt that bad. definitely some really bad decisions but there was a lot more good than i originally thought

what a good game from Allar man. his pocket presence is really really good and i love the fact he wasnt trying to do too much. didnt put the ball in harms way and wasnt afraid to find his check-downs if/when nothing was there. his WRs didnt help him at all but he still managed to throw his guys open a few times too which is awesome. teams are gonna like him

Ohio state lost this game due to two things. 1. Denzel Burke was horrendous. One of the worst performances I’ve ever seen. 2. The pass rush was nonexistent. Burke must have had a rough week of practice after this game.

James Pearce is such a weird eval. I dont think he has any business being in a 4 point stance ever, but when lined up wider, his pass rush is awesome.

That 4th quarter drive was the definition of Dominance on the Line, and that last play was the perfect way to cap it off.
