the CPU was being heavily bottlenecked by the GPU. Also, CSGO known now as CS2 didn't utilize the V-Cache, CS2 uses the V-Cache and gets twice the performance.

Hey I can't tell you for certain what is causing your issue, I think it's the ram speed/latency as well, since when you are cpu limited Ram speed seems to matter a lot, especially for Ryzen. Hope this helps :)

3200 cl 16 is the same as 3000 cl 15, so if that's the benchmark you want it's the same. I now use cl16 3600mhz, when i bought the 3000mhz kit it was super expensive :(

If your gpu usage is not 99% you are still cpu or ram bandwith limited, even though it might only show 50%. That's unfortunately the way games work, they dont always use the cpu to the maximum

Fake? 9700k is definitely not a better cpu in a head to head, especially since mine is running all core 4,7ghz in combination with 4x8gb cl 16 3600mhz. Might wanna look into your facts before you call someone a fake. Might believe it's better because it has 2 more cores, but unlike your i7 the 8700k still has hyperthreading, huge difference in cpu bound games.

Sven Divino i copied and pasted this messsage into many benchmarks of this game and just like this one the i7 9700k benchmarks were not truthful frame rates, but in every other cpu heavy game and in this one that i can find benchmarks for the i7 9700k does better as hyperthreading actually produces lower fps in many games today because like this one they can even use half of the cores or threads and aren’t made for hyperthreading.

@@Chris-oj1ir also even if the 9700k is faster in games, a overclocked 8700k in combination with high performance memory will still beat it if the 9700k is running stock. Post a user benchmark and show me your stuff. Bet you are running either slow memory or single channel or a 9700k at stock settings..

@@Chris-oj1ir delusional, am running 5.2ghz cl16 4000mhz ram 2x8gb and am getting even 50fps avg more than him in this vid. 9700k depends on its clock and ram that's used but it can be better than a 8700k yes

Are temps okay, do you have msi afterburner to crank the power limit to the max? See if that helps.

@@Sven_Divino ok so, the problem is something more specific that i am having. It's a FPS problem in my games. Sometimes my games FPS drop a lot, but they keep constant low. this happens a LOT, but sometimes everything is ok. for example, i am testing this with Overwatch, everything on low settings(texture at Medium), when it's normal the FPS is capped at 300. but sometimes the FPS is at 190-250 in the same place, same character etc i have 2 videos that i can send via e-mail, btw. This happens in most if not all games. I play Apex Legens at all low settings and sometimes the frames drop to 40-45 in some places, maybe if my computer was all ok, the frames would drop to 80 in the same place Note: 32 GB ram, 1070 Ti 8GB, I7 8700k 3.7 Ghz. i have the computer for 2 years now and i am noticing this in the last month or so. Some stuff that i tried. It's not memory loss from my GPU, GPU, CPU is not overheating. It's not my SSD(i moved OW to my normal HD and i had the same problems). It's not CPU power usage or power usage overall. Another game example is Quake Champions(yeah i play that LUL), sometimes the game run ok with 200 to even 300 FPS But sometimes it runs from as low as 90 frames to 140 frames same map and all I could send my DxDiag and MSinfo if helps.

@@Vinzenzx once again, try the benchmark, post the results :) I've got no clue what it could be. You could try and clean up your drivers with displaydriver uninstaller

@@Vinzenzx 2 sticks of memory in either slot 1,3 or slot 2,4. With one slot your cpu only has acces to half the bandwidth iirc

@@Sven_Divino I'm currently trying to build a rig that's ryzen 5 3600 & gtx 1070 and i wanna stream on it and i'm worried that the 1070 won't be enough for 144fps at very low settings

@@jannclaudebinoya with streaming it might be difficult to get 144hz anyhow, even though the 3600x is comparable to a i7 8700k I know from experience it takes a big hit on performance

Sven Divino no i have 2 Trident Z ram stick both manually clocked to 3200hz as advertised.

Sven Divino i read up online and it might be because i disabled the windows updater and i havnt updated my PC in 1 and a half years and i also dont even have a real product key from windows so, ima update everything update my drivers and buy a real product key so i can update my old windows, ill let you know it that fixes it.

Single vs dual channels on a cpu bound scenario is a massive bottleneck dude. Since you seem like a enthousiast (1080+i7 8700k @5ghz) definitely upgrade! Ill do you one better ill run a benchmark of a highlight with both 8 vs 16gb ram. Send me your blizzard name and ill link you the vid
