For what reasons? The dynamics are considered as homogeneous differential equation. And rigid body combination is taken in consideration.

I think the problem with the 3D visualization is because of the solver step size. I recommend you to make it Fixed-step and keep fixed-step size (fundamental sample time) small such as 0.001 second. I guess this will make 3D visualization much better like real.

The built in gear creation function doesn't produce an involute profile. Instead it creates arcs. People should be aware of this before using this functionality.
The commercial itself shows the segregation and depicts the profound ignorance.
Any idea how to change desired gear ratio? I wanted to use 1/100 but its not within the range.
Try all of the settings. worst case scenario you will have to make two separate gears and assemble them in a separate assembly
@@AliShenas1993 Yeah i've tried all the settings it's not working out. How to make the gears separate? This tool won't let me get a single gear at once as the other one infers its properties from first one. So in the end always an error comes up. I guess only manually designing from scratch would work then?

you can create friction in the gear joint itself. However, this system was later on used with gear friction in an FEA model.

thanks for the tutorial. can you explain what i can derive from such a model? I know matlab is quite powerful, so this must habe some use beyond what‘s possible with usual equations on paper
I used this to optimize custom gear materials. paper was published in ASME journal.
@@AliShenas1993 thanks. I think what is not clear to me yet: what am I able to simulate with this? It doesn't seem to be capable to consider effects from the meshing itself (contact forces, number of teeth in contact, friction), or is it at any stage of modeling?

How do I make them less thick?
look at 2:55, there is the option is called face width, you can insert the desired thickness of your gear design
