It would not hit immediately as depicted, the asteroid would stay in the sky,slowly getting bigger and bigger! As an added bonus, Earth's gravity would cause asteroid to explode, as what happened in Siberia over 100 years ago with the Tungusta event!!😂❤😊

Change the cast if you must, to allow for the correct passing of time, but PLEASE finish the story. (Maybe use CGI and make-up to age Cara Gee, Wes Chatam and Frankie Adams though...would hate to lose their character portrayals of Drummer, Amos & Bobby respectively). They each deserved an Emmy.

I really appreciate the attention to detail in this scene. When the ship explodes, it's not just a big boom, the ship actually flies apart around the reactor at the rear, and the plasma is visible for a second where the containment used to be. You can instantly tell it was them disabling containment, and not just a bomb on board.

The mad thing is this asteroid probably impacted many miles away from where he's standing. It's just so enormous the impact seems deceivingly closer than it really is.

Why are the missiles burning in the wrong direction, though? If they want to hit the pursuing ship why accelerate in the same direction the pursuing ship is accelerating? There may be the slightest reason for this as long as the Rocinante is still accelerating, if the missiles fired from the other ship have less capable drives, but at the point where Rocinante cuts its own drive those missiles really ought to turn.
