1/32 Sopwith Camel build
มุมมอง 18K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Building a Academy 1/32 Sopwith Camel... Almost OOB except PE instrument dials and stitching. Cheapest 1/32 Biplane you can get! Build within 30 days ( less than 80 hrs). Ever have trouble aligning the top and bottom wings?... You can check out how I did it :-)

Academy 1/32 Sopwith Camel..... the cheapest 1/32 Biplane.....
What yellow is that inside the cockpit? I keep using tamiya cockpit colour and it doesn’t look anything like yours.
Great build of a very challenging kit. Love how you reduced the excessive ribbing detail.
This is among the most beautiful F-4F models I have ever seen!!! My favorite color scheme. Excellent work!!! I love it!!!
Very impressive, especially considering the fit issues of the kit. Your skills far exceed my own. This peacetime paint scheme was only in use for several months, maybe a year before they went to all gray, and then the wartime schemes. The F4F-3 aircraft were factory new when they received this scheme. Maybe they flew a few hundred hours, but most probably flew much less because the engines required overhauls very frequently. My point is I doubt there would be much sun-bleaching or wear on the aircraft in this scheme, as impressive as your weathering turned out. Considering there was no video, your production was very well done with stills and text comments. The music volume should be lower, but the selection was fine. Definitely make more videos.
Beautifull...
Excellent model, well done 👏
Superb model! Thanks for the tip!! 😊👍
Build was great, pictures out of focus.
great looking aircraft !!!! i am going to use this as a reference for mine. thanks !!!
One of those two seaters that had rudimentary flying available to the observer/gunner should the pilot be incapacitated. I can see why you won an award 🏆
Nice work 👍👍
Good Job!👍👍👍
Really nice Build!New Subscriber! Please take a look at my Channel, Thank you 🙏
I'l bet that's at least a $100 kit. Who made it?
Great looking model, apart from the fact the machine guns are upside down.
Nice job, and I am pleased it is still on display. I am considering building one, either the Tamiya or the 1/32 Trumpeter. Your Tamiya looks great.
If I use black surface primer by Vallejo what colour should I use for shading , or go with a lighter primer?
Too heavy weathering (5:25) but some places look better.
Nice, but I will stick to my 1 18 Huge TBF Avenger, George Bush model.
Nice🤗
I love your wildcat, and your maintanence jack! Thank you!
Amazing ! Just one small detail, drill out the gun barrels if you Go so far in paint/ weather. Anyhow Im blown away. Spot on ! And 2 Thumbs up
Oeps forgot to say sand down tires so plane looks like it has wait, even rubber tires can be sanded
Las ametralladoras están al revés.
I got the kit. This is going to help a great deal. Thank you.
Exelent work. I have a 1/72 gotha bomber to build. This is giving me ideas about the rigging. Thanks.
Gorgeous build, sir 👍 - and thanks for sharing!
I went out and bought a kit just because of the music... Fine model by the way, Sir Edward Elgar would be proud of it.
Perfect !!!
Bon travail de patine 👍🇫🇷
An English Classic!!!, very well done!!, beautifully painted!!! Thank you for sharing...
I bought a Sopwith Camel. I think the same model. A Nieuport 17 (Academy 1/32 ) and a Roden Fokker DR-I all in the 1/32 scale. I want to 3D model them for some companies that specialize in 3D models. I bought an Albatros from one of the companies, and all it has is the Albatros, and a generic British Biplane that resembles an SE5 with a radial engine and the exhaust looks like it would fit on an inline engine. I'm looking at modeling the Spad, and the Fokker DR-5 next if these are successful. I ordered a 1/16 Sopwith Camel model from Japan that is a Taymia and shows mostly just the ribs and not the covering. I found one for 155 dollars. That was cool because they normally run 200 to 300. I got a note on E bay though from the vendor that it fell off a shelf and got broke. I was planning to build this and the Fokker DR-1 in the same scale, and put them in display cases to sell on Ebay, and or Amazon. I noticed people ask if they come already put together and get laughed at. I know guys who build the Star Ship Enterprise in 1/350 scale. They put on the little motor kits, and paint them like the filming version, and make some fair money selling them that way. IDK, I think the 3D rout is the easiest right now, but I do like to build and paint. You have done a great job on this one. Did You sand down the wing frames? It looks like you did. Anyway good job.
wildcat, the older cousin to the hellcat. nice plane, awesome build and paint.
Beautiful Swordfish, well done.
Great looking Camel. Hope mine comes out half as good.
how do you paint these... i want to get into building these but i am a noob
Odd choice of music for this plane
I know, right? So much pomp and circumstance to it.
You're a master. What did you use for the rigging?
EZ Line - it's what all the cool kids use.
That is a real beauty.
Sir hi, the music was just fantastic, it added a lot of zeal to be an American
Magnifique !!! Superbe !!
Thinking of trying turnbuckles on one plane.
I'm floored both by the great job you did on this 6+ years ago and the fact that I'm the only one who's commented on this in all that time. Nice rig job. Did you know the Vickers guns are upside down?
I too noticed this when I finished the same model. It's a reboxed version of the Hobby Craft kit. The instructions are horrible in both kits and they show the machine guns placed upside down. I have a Vickers machine gun - the mounted one for the Sopwith Camel and the barrel should go downwards toward the engine. Blame it on poor research and poor detailing and lack of care on the part of the engineers that made the moulds for this kit. You are one of the only few that noticed this feature.
Interesting technique spraying thinner to get rid of the decal film
Nice work I like the weathering.
what a beauty
Very nicely done, sir, I particularly liked how you did the white of the fuselage.
Just bought the Revell version. Can't touch Trumpeter for revet detail but nicely done otherwise.
Trumpy? God save the king? Or yank graduation theme?🤔 Jman👀
beautiful
I'm currently building the new tool 1/72 Airfix kit, i hope it looks even half as good as yours.
