Good video, very entertaining. Those timber beams (in tandem) look terrifically strong. But, as you demonstrated they aren't actually supporting. I'd be very tempted to gently tap in some slate shims......and call it a day.
That isn't going anywhere, surely, not that i know your field, but it seems like rather a lot of work when a third gallows bracket seems like common sense to me, those big bits of wood and complex way its put together, currently not supporting anything waiting for the collapse of whats above it, just seems odd.
Thanks Donald. You saved me from making a big mistake. This experience has changed the way I think... I am now considering buying a new build! For all their faults, at least you get a 10 year guarantee! Many thanks.
I surveyed this house for a potential buyer and unfortunately I have had to advise them not to proceed because of the defective and potentially dangerous alterations that have been made to it. I have noticed an increase in the number of poor quality and defective buildings being sold as the market has recovered.
Very helpful thanks
Lintels between the Gallow brackets end of problem.

Really interesting. Any new videos?
Yeah I'm a bit of a beginner to be honest. I'll try and do a better job next time!
