for anybody interested, I don't love the sound of this amp either, a lot of high mids, giving it a nasal thin quality. I put the eq in the fx loop , an mxr 10 band eq and do the opposite of what I do to a rectifier amp , I increase the low mids (250&500hz) by 3db and lower the 1k&2k by 3db, also lower the 125hz by 2-3 db or it gets very boomy

It's crazy how Big is sounds for a 1w. It chugs nearly as hard as a 5150 but has a certain raw/grit in the mid range that you only get from Marshalls. very cool amp for recording or dinking around.

I hear a lot of differences, i bet glen cant tune a guitar by ear. That is pitch recognition, but if you dont have that, you probably cant distinguish lots of elements of what you are hearing. And this is listening on a cellphone. And on top of that, if you have a personal preference that influences it too. Frequency analysis? Just listen, use the force glen

Would you consider doing a video on first steps for MINT setup after a fresh install. I like how when the dials are turned to change the amps/cabs, there are no popping or other noises. Thanks for the video, up until now I haven't seen a switcher that does more than two amps/cabs at a reasonable price, I'm going to get one of these De Lisles.

Transiters amp good for beginners playing basic chords. But a valve cranked with lead then your transistor amp will be blown off stage. Witha kick ass mashall and not that dsl from china garbage

Sweetwater website it says that the Seventy 80 it's designed to sound like the Greenbacks. The Celestion website doesn't say anything about that. Don't know how Sweetwater came up with that.

I sold a CR120 and bought this. After a week I sold it and my ppc412 with those shitty v30s. I like the orange sound, but it was all pure mud, and with the gain maxed out still not even close enough. It did Sound good with an fuzz through the clean, but def not worth the money in my opinion.. CR120 was much better… Then today I bought a H&K cab with g12L 35 Speakers, sounds pretty great for a 90€ 4x12…

You put the foil on wrong way round. The aluminum side should face the rafters in hot climates.. If you did it the other way it would be heaps cooler.

I love natural wood guitars. I have a Yamaha Pacifica 112v in natural wood finish, and I've been really tempted to get this exact bass to match it. At that price, it's almost a no brainer, but they do a much nicer version, though it's 2.5x the price

thank you for doing this kind of content. For me the Greenbacks provided the best balance and the Mesa with the V30s sounded awful. The Marshall V was too scooped with way too much sizzle. Just my thoughts. I'm sure the proper guy could get great tone out of all of them.

The super crush kicks ass at punk and all rock… just get a pedal into the clean channel for super high gain for punk or rock it can’t be beat for the $$ also high gain sound is tired a 5150 with a v30 over and over again you can get that orange to sound d good for high gain with a boost and eq like you said and it won’t sound like every other damn record

The minute you said you were using a Boss Katana, I knew the 70/80's would hold their own or possibly win. Because my Katana sounds great with them, too. 7080's work great with modelling amps because of their flat EQ. In fact, I think some modelling combos ship with 7080's. If you repeated the experiment with one of your tube heads, the V30's might come out on top.
