มุมมอง 1.8K5 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a low shank attachment. I am showing this on a Singer 22K also can 221 (Featherweight). It should work the same on any strait stitch low shank such as the Singer 201, 15-91, 27,28, 127, 128 or 66. Place the fabric just like this under the blind hemmer. Be sure to pay attention to where the little metal guide thumb is. Your top fold should be next to this. *Start sewing slowly. You'll no...

How to use Singer Automatic Zigzagger attachment
This is really fascinating! So the blade only cuts the loops on the left side? And the right side is left as loops?
Thank you for this excellent video! Fascinating!
Really helpful tutorial, thanks
Certainly different but WHY would anybody have preferred this over a Singer Featherweight? Clearly the Bell wasn't much of a success. Excellent video -- you are VERY patient.
I have one but I am missing the Critical bobbin case and bobbins. I never saw this working so thanks! It was cleaned several years ago but the old oil in there is gunked up. (I read online it was never supposed to need oil!) interesting there is a “lifetime guarantee” printed on the back of the manual but obviously that’s useless. Amy idea where I could find that bobbin case and bobbin? Thanks again for the demo !
Tiny Bobbin uses Singer 29. But the bobbin case has to get another Bell sewing machine used for spare replacement. Check on eBay or FB marketplace group of vintage sewing machines. Thank you and good luck, have a good day.
Wonderful, my grandmother had one of these and I kept thinking it wasn't possible to use it on my machine, but this tutorial made it all make sense.
Hi Marc, fantastic video, helped me a lot but do you have the instruction book of this little Bell published anywhere? Thanks from France Florence
Best video on this I could find! It’s what I used to learn!
give me buy link
thank you for this video even though it was 6 yrs ago
That is a "early production" 1956 model… They were manufactured between 1956 and 1961 and one million were made..
Just found that I had this attachment on my sewing room shelf! I'm so glad to see how it works and learn that I can use it on my Singer Featherweights! Thanks for posting this!
Excellent explanation. Thank you. I'm so happy to find there are others who prefer to use the old Singers. For very good reason !!.
Thanks for share! 😀
I have a 404 Singer Slant Needle. The front plate came clear off and I cannot figure out how to slide it back in. Any ideas?
I just found one of these in a box of old sewing stuff from my mom and had no idea what it was for. Thank you so much for the video.
I wish you would have shown the actual sewing
Can you scan the manual on 600 dpi and send it to me?
Thank you soooo very much for your video1 You helped me successfully clean the bobbin case and more importantly put it back together! You gave me happy sewing.
It is not an all metal machine. It has a large cylindrical plastic cam inside the raises and lowers the needle bar. These machines do require oiling.
Oh how beautiful these little dresses, I like it very much. 👍🏻 Keep it up
Ah, 221's! Beautiful!
Thank you ☺️
I have a 401A I picked up at a thrift store I've been resolving some issues on, like a frozen gummed up stitch selector assembly. I hadn't attempted to do anything with the bobbin case, until now. This video and another video made it easy. It probably makes cleaning easier, but one doesn't actually have to remove the needle and/or presser foot to remove the throat plate. If one raises the presser foot and rotates the hand wheel until the take up lever is at its lowest point, then moves the throat plate position lever to unlock, the throat plate should slide out easily.
Thank you so much! I was trying to move it to the right first, as I lifted. It wasn't budging. Lift, then move to the right!
Thank you for this video, is beautiful( I'm a French).
Thank you for this video!! I inherited a Singer 401 years ago and still adore it to this day. Today I used your video to clean the bobbin case. Sept 2022 xx
Gorgeous ponytails!!!! 😍🤩😍🤩
Thank you ☺️ my favorite gals
Thank you so much. This is a very helpful easily understood video. I was able to pause and start without getting lost in the instructions you were giving. You were very straight and to the point. I have been afraid to remove my case because of the screws. Thank you again
Thank you!!! I was having so much trouble with that bobbin casing
lleva esa guia en mi casa casi 100 años y gracias a ti se ahora para lo que sirve. gracias
I just bought one of these and I am wondering about oiling it. There is no info in the manual concerning oiling.
Thank you!!! Valuable information
What an amazing find!! The manual AND the attachments! Someone loved that sewing machine. Thank you for sharing this beauty.
Thank you for this video! I’m looking around for one of these, and this video will be a great help if I can’t find a manual. The bobbin and bobbin filling looks so convenient, but I’d have never figured it out on my own.
I'm glad to help you. It's a fun little sewing machine. Hope you enjoy it. Have a good day
Wow that looked easy enough to do. I have the Singer 401A with the cabinet included. I purchased it at the swap meet over 5 or more years ago. I have always wanted to clean, oil, grease and switch out the knee pedal for a foot pedal. I was cleaning it and wanted to know to remove the bobbin case in order to clean it. Thank you so much for posting this video.
All you need to do is slide the foot control out of the holder and you have the foot control...
Ohh!! THIS IS AWESOME! Thank you!
Works great! Exactly what I needed.
thank u so muchh omg
Thank you for this video I just won one from eBay and its going to need a little love. But I think I can get it. if not Ill take her in. Im very excited, I m hoping the Manuel will have maintenance instructions, I think at the very least she needs a very good cleaning and oiling .
Thank you so much. Should we oil inside there before replacing the bobbin case?
Yes oiled before place the bobbin don't wanna get oil on thread.
Thank you so much for the excellent video! I just picked up a Bell Sewing Machine yesterday at an estate sale for about $35. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I believe that I have all the pieces except the clamp and the original manual (though I did buy a download.). The black material on the bottom of the machine has disintegrated but other than that it seems to be in good shape. Thanks again for taking the time to provide such a great explanation of this cute little machine.
What thread did you use? (color code, brand etc.)
The conductivity of the motor being such a vital component of smooth & efficient operation this procedure rules out a source area that is essential, or primary in the sequence of diagnosing electrical-drive problems. Simple enough to address and can solve host of problems regarding system confidence testing. Excellent place to begin the process of electrical problem diagnosis. Mike Kirwan - Kenmore, WA
WOW!!! : )
Thank you! Somehow it came un seated and I was able to fix it with your video!
Sweet! Thank you!
Very welcome ☺️ hope your sewing machine is happy.
Thank you for your video -- it was very timely. I just bought one of these machines from a Facebook seller. It arrived today and sadly, it's not in as good a condition as yours -- and I paid $15 more than you did! It only came with an accessories guide, but no manual. I have learned a lot already from watching you demonstrate bobbin winding and threading. The lever on the back to raise and lower the foot is in the wrong position on mine, so I haven't gotten that part to work yet. And the wood sections in the case are missing, so there is no place for the metal tray to rest. I am sad. But if I can get it working, I will be a little happier.
Complete running ones are often $200 - $250 now. I am looking for one I can take back and forth for babysitting.
Wow, it's cute! I love how compact it is. Growing up we had two old sewing machines in our house. They both had a pedal connected to a large wheel with a leather strap. No electricity. They worked though. But they were SO big. I use a white plastic $99 Singer now 😂
Oh yes good old machine I have 1909 no electricity it's fun to foot paddle it's The Free #5 model got at the thrift store few years ago. In oak wood cabinet 2 doors and extra storage.
@@markofashion1790 It is fun isn't it! I had so much fun with it as a kid. I believe my mum still has two and my nan has one. They are all Singer and they fold up into a cabinet. They look beautiful closed, but don't have a lot of storage though. I just looked up the free machines and they are beautiful. Like works of art.
Fantastic video Mark.
I just ca e across my rug guide that I got VC at a yard sale many years ago. I just might have to try it.
