Unreal 5.2 Debugging (Overview) in Rider C++ (Easy) !
มุมมอง 3.1Kปีที่แล้ว
Welcome to this tutorial on debugging in JetBrains Rider with Unreal Engine 5.2. In this video, we'll explore the various tools and techniques to troubleshoot issues in your code. We'll start by discussing the benefits of building your game with the debug game setting instead of the development setting. We'll then take a look at running the editor in debug mode and using breakpoints to gain ins...

      just do a get landscape data node first then connect it to suface sampler then click on surface sampler press d or click debug then go in the properties then hit generate i had the same issue

    While this tutorial perhaps is good for 5.2 users, it's not compatible with 5.3+ as a couple nodes don't exist anymore; Noise; now needs to be Attribute Noise. Rebuild point rotation from normal; doesn't exist and I can't find a replacement. "Maths: Subtract" generates a warning message (no data provided)

    lots of effort for a piece of trash: people who search for a video like this expect an actual tutorial not some random incomplete information thrown around, like wtf even was that for real

    I'm trying to apply the distance to density method, but to all rocks generated in a large PCG, but it only seems to be using the first rock (index 0) as the input source to the 'select position node'. Is there a way to use this approach in this way or do is it only possible on single rocks like in your tutorial?

      Probably too late, sorry about that. You need to launch Unreal from the debugging in Rider/Visual Studio instead of launching Unreal from the taskbar or similar. You can probably attach to the launched process somehow, but I'd just run it from Rider

    This isn't much of a tutorial, it's just an explanation of what debugging is. Most people that come here are probably well aware of what debugging is and how it works in general. You don't show the step-by-step process of actually getting debugging working, for example, which is what I need because my breakpoints aren't being hit for reasons I can't figure out.

    • @hullabulla
      @hullabulla 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Will definitely keep that in mind, thank you for commenting! Covering all basis for why a breakpoint is not being hit is pretty hard, but could do a more "serious" video covering similar tips. Hope you got it working!

    Just throwing this out there, but wouldn’t be cool to have auto-foliage like this which also takes into consideration where water would actually flow, and where dirt would accumulate? Eg. Plants don:t just grow out of anywhere, they crow out of cracks and (ironically) dark spaces.

    Hi can you teach us how to get started in procedure generation for beginners, like those feature in the demo 5.2. Like how to add rocks (and others meshes) and foliages into the scene. Maybe you can try make a tutorial for a small environment scene, for example like in this video made by Unreal Sensei th-cam.com/video/6DIEZhk_ES8/w-d-xo.html. His Oasis Desert concept is pretty cool on how the procedure work but unfortunately I wish someone can explain to me how to done it. Just wanted to share my idea, I support your channel, keep up the good work!
