Treating City Water at Home | Evolve
www.evolveseries.com/about-us/blog/33043-why-does-my-water-smell-like-chlorine.html
Local utilities use safe levels of chlorine to treat the water, disinfecting it to make it safe for you and your family. That chlorine is the reason your tap water sometimes smells and tastes like a swimming pool.
Once the water reaches your home, the chlorine is no longer needed and can be removed so you don’t have to drink or smell these chemicals. Though it is generally safe, city water can have dissolved minerals that make your water hard. Hard water can make it harder to clean, bathe, and can damage appliances.
An in-home water treatment system from Evolve can give you the quality water you want. A water treatment specialist will test your water and recommend the best solution for your home.

      @ChristopherAndersonPirate หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, we just moved into a house that already has a water softener installed and the only thing you should be needing to do is make sure there’s salt in the tank. Now you want to fill it about 75% full and then wait until it gets all the way down to 20 to 30% full, and then fill it back up with salt again. Also make sure you don’t let it get completely empty of salt otherwise you’ll have to do some cleaning with iron out brand solution

      You certainly can install just a filter to reduce the concerns your well water might have instead of using a water softener. The only thing to keep in mind is the hard water scale buildup that can clog faucets and pipes can also clog your filters very quickly, so you may end up having to replace them often as a result which can be very expensive in the long run.

    • @evolve8534
      @evolve8534 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is definitely best to speak with your doctor if you have health complications that could be aggravated by sodium. If all sodium should be avoided and you still wanted a water softener, we recommend pairing it with a reverse osmosis drinking water filter. That way your water heater, dishwasher, plumbing, etc. are all still protected from hard water scale buildup and the water you and your husband drink has the sodium released by your softener filtered out.

  • @Salamcr
    @Salamcr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What is the salt percentage in the output of soft water. Is this cause any health problems

    • @evolve8534
      @evolve8534 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The amount sodium exchanged and released into the water will depend on how hard the water is to begin with. Slightly hard water will have lower amounts than extremely hard water. Even in some of the worst hard water areas, the amount of sodium that would be found in the water you drink on a daily basis would be significantly less than what many common foods contain so the average person usually doesn't need to worry about any health concerns. We agree the water you drink should be the best possible kind! So we recommend pairing a water softener with a reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water system. If you are on a sodium-restricted diet so even small amounts should be avoided, an RO would filter the sodium and many other contaminants a water softener isn't capable of removing. That way your entire home can benefit from the protection a water softener brings, and any water you and your family drink goes through that extra purification step to keep you happy and healthy.

      @@abrahamkuruvilla1987 The whole process will take a couple hours from start to end, but it isn't drawing in water that whole time. It'll bring in water into the brine tank and then it'll sit and do nothing for an hour to wait for it to dissolve the salt, and then send that salt water into the media tank in another cycle, before rinsing with more raw water. So it sounds like it's doing something for a long time, but it's not always using new water that whole time. Part of what the install should be checking though is if the well can produce at a rate to keep up with what that softener needs. There's not too much we can walk you through without being on site. We will bring your concerns up to your dealer to let them know you're having issues.
