I first saw Ralph when I was a student. At Warwick university as it happens which was not where I went but my parents lived a mile away. He was good then and is good still.

I just saw Ralph at the Cambridge Folk Festival in July and he sang this song there too (I guess he did mostly the same set - minus Kenny the kangaroo). Didn't film it, but it stuck with me. Now today I saw a clip of Missippi John Hurt on Facebook and wondered "who sang that song about him? It was something about his home town" and found this video. Thanks for filming so I can relive it ❤

It's a real pity that Ralph, in 2024, seems to have become tired of singing Streets. In his 2024 tour, at least in Melbourne, it was just added at the end of his show, almost as a begrudgingly offered solo encore song, he didn't leave the stage and Streets comprised his entire encore. Before any flack is sent, kindly note that I have attended aĺl of his Melbourne concerts over the last 50 years'.
