Very Nice!! And a marvelous idea too!! During your working process it made me think of the artist Anselm Kiefer sometimes. ps: I would have made it a bit longer ( so one can stretch ones leggs fully ). The width is perfect. And the copper faucet matches it beautifully! Magnifique.
This is an awesome idea. I don't have the space for a free standing tub but I could use the idea with modifications. Tip: no music or different music and film in landscape
I like to make stuff, need to remodel my bathroom and find nothing inspiring about a bought tub. This is FABULOUS! I'm truly inspired. Thanks for making this video!
All great my friend, thanks for checking in.. 🤝👍🏼👌🏽It looks just like new after 4 years in regular use 😅even faucet and popup drain are still beautiful and working just fine 👌🏽
This is a pretty epic bath, helped by having a roomy bathroom to put it in. 😊 However, I was a bit disappointed to see that it was nowhere long enough for you to stretch your legs out in. Bathtubs aren't nearly long enough these days. Was room a contributing factor? If so, that's understandable. A shame...but understandable. 😁
Thank you very much much , I hope you’re inspired and one day you give it a try and create something small like a lavatory or a bathtub for birds with this technique 😊
I don’t understand what’s your point , any shape and size can be done with this technique, every customer has his preferences, I’m also building sit in tubs .. 😂
Hi my name is tarsha I was looking at your video and he got me very excited about making tubs cuz I want to do a spa if you have a class or something with hands on I would like to take the class I'm interested I'm eager to learn and I want to change the world so I guess I'll be contacting you when I get ready I love you video keep up the good work
Hi Tarsha I’m so happy that you’re inspired, unfortunately I’m not teaching workshops anymore, but with this tutorial you should get enough information to create your own first maybe small bowl or laboratory, good luck and thank you for your feedback 😊
Where does one get the huge block of foam like that? I suppose I could save all my packing material and glue together and then cut away the shape I need? YA??
I made my first ones 20 years ago exactly as you mentioned and I also used dozens of plastic PET bottles for insulation tests , be creative and improvise with what you have 😅
Daniel, You have inspired / enlightened me. Thank you. I live in Costa Rica too…can you tell me where to look for a big piece of sterofoam? Thanks, Jan
Hi, none of all of those, it’s a very pleasant silky feeling, if well done .. there’s nothing like that , it’s the best, very sensual and natural 😊just like a bathtub should feel .. enjoy
I’m wondering does this have to be built in place as a permanent structure or would it be possible to seal the bottom as well so it could be installed and moved if needed ?
That is a great question, it would be a new little challenge for do such a project, I guess the only part that has to be done in a flexible way would be the fittings for drain and faucet, maybe choose another shape/ design specially the floor connection that would make it easier to attach things
@@danielgautschi2085 - yes, I’m debating on how to build our bathtub and ran across this video. Would love to meet one of my neighbors. I’m on Calle Buena Vista. I’ll send you a private message.
Hi, the tub looks still exactly the same and shows no sign of any cracks, broken edges or leaks, I have done others since this one and I keep using the same technique 😅

Where did you get the large block of foam to start the build?? Great video!🤙🏻

Больше не снимай видео - не твоё это. А ванная наверное хорошая!)
now i have lived a full life.
Awesome job! I hope to build my own bath tub one day when I buy or build my next and final house. I’ll use this video for inspiration for sure!
🇧🇷 maginifico, congratulation🎉
amazing can you show as also how you made the floor :P

Precioso! Gracias
Great art work. How much will it cost making this.
Hello, congratulations, I have a question, what is the size of the block you used?
God has blessed you my brother. That smile says it all <3
Can I ask where you sourced the foam from for the tub creation?
YOU ARE SO SMART, VERY STRONG GUY SANDING IT ALL WITH YOUR OWN HANDS, I M PROUD OF YOU MY LITTLE BIG BALD GUY
Amazing job
Thank you I’m happy to have inspired you 😊
Wow great job. Any chance you can tell me where you got your taps from ?
From a place call Domodossola in northern Italy
“title text here” 😂
So it has been 4 years, are we gonna get a review, update- how it's lasted, how to keep it? 🤩
All great my friend, thanks for checking in.. 🤝👍🏼👌🏽It looks just like new after 4 years in regular use 😅even faucet and popup drain are still beautiful and working just fine 👌🏽
Oh lala that's impressive
Incredible!
Thanks

Thanks, It was the right size for the spot, actually for a Couple to sit mirroring each other and suck their toes it’s perfect I hear 😆🥰
What type of drain do u use?
A pretty regular pop-up drain , this one is copper plated color to match the real Italian design copper faucet
how would this work to build that against a wall?
Quem me dera ter uma dessas. Parabéns, maravilhosa
Thank you very much much , I hope you’re inspired and one day you give it a try and create something small like a lavatory or a bathtub for birds with this technique 😊
Quem sabe? 🙏🏾
What size of Styrofoam did you use?
For this tub it was a 180x60x90cm but the idea of customizing is that you choose any size that soothes your needs
Imagine going through the trouble of a custom tub that you can't even stretch your legs in
I don’t understand what’s your point , any shape and size can be done with this technique, every customer has his preferences, I’m also building sit in tubs .. 😂
Wouldn't it be necessary to use iron mesh to support the layers of dough? Wonderful work!
No it is so incredibly strong structurally with this technique it’s not necessary, I’m doing this since 20years i never had complaints
@@danielgautschi2085 Great to know. Thank you!
Damn, y’all can come to Mexico and blend in
Amazing 🤩 wonderful work 👍
Thank you makes me happy if you’re inspired 😊
how do they deal with that styro dust waste?
I put it in lightweight insulation cement mix Or as filler for non structural spaces 👌🏽💪🏼
It’s very easy to vacuum clean and fill up in bags
Incredible work, stunning
Thank you I’m happy you got inspired 😊
My question is could you just microcement over the existing tub ?
However you gonna do it .. the joy is in the journey.. happy improvising.. good luck 👍🏼
Is the bathtub well today? Still standing? Thank you
Still in an excellent condition, actually more beautiful 😊

There are factories that produce styrofoam in different densities, I prefer high density
Do you list the materials used any place?
Beautiful work
Thank you
Daniel, You have inspired / enlightened me. Thank you. I live in Costa Rica too…can you tell me where to look for a big piece of sterofoam? Thanks, Jan
Look up estéreofon de alta densidad there’s a factory that San Jose and or glue smaller ones together, good luck
When getting into the tub does it feel more like a cast iron tub or a fiber glass/plactic tub?
Hi, none of all of those, it’s a very pleasant silky feeling, if well done .. there’s nothing like that , it’s the best, very sensual and natural 😊just like a bathtub should feel .. enjoy
@@danielgautschi2085 I mean more like when you get in a cast iron tub it feels solid. A fiber glass or plastic feels almost hollow.
It feels totally solid
I’m wondering does this have to be built in place as a permanent structure or would it be possible to seal the bottom as well so it could be installed and moved if needed ?

Depending on shape and size, that tub would probably weigh around 100-150kg 😅
Save it, learn and survey about the material. Hopefully not hard to find the material in indonesia… Thank you daniel :D
Good luck, shouldn’t be a problem 😅
Where does one get the big block of styrofoam?? I wanna build this
I bought it at a styrofoam/ insulation producing factory , different density available, get high density if available
How has it held up so far?
Excelente
what size of foam block did you start with and where did you source it?
Styrofoam / insulation factory, better high density foam type if available
"Title text here" 😂
.. good you’re paying attention to details 😂
Are you still in Montezuma?
Yep, can I help you

Hi. Would you do anything differently now that the tub has had time to cure/settle/crack etc? ✌🏻
Hi, the tub looks still exactly the same and shows no sign of any cracks, broken edges or leaks, I have done others since this one and I keep using the same technique 😅
