You will note that I do not review overlapped models though - I have seen other creators get fooled into doing this when they've already reviewed the same meter under another brand name. PS - I picked up a CM28 tonight - was going to get the DJI Mic2 but honestly didn't want to pay $350 for it when this will get it done at a reasonable quality level - your review helped in making my decision.

@@GeneralBuckles I will be using it for doing interviews for a new travel/culture project (trying to get away from just doing nerdy videos exclusively) and since there will be some walking around going on I realized I needed some wireless mics to keep the audio consistent. I'll let you know how it works out. May even use it for the tabletop reviews since I have an appliance close by that likes to make its presence known in the audio.

I would posit though that you do not HAVE to upgrade your GPU every few years… many choose to because GPU size & FPS count is the PCMR metaphorical equivalent to dick measuring. Also the price of GPU’s has been massively overinflated because of the crypto effect and now Ai, but it’ll never get back to normal either so in a way I’d say you’re right. And now with Discord integration and other features consoles have, I’d say it’s a very attractive route for pure gamers.

@@GeneralBuckles The days of getting a flagship card for under $700 are long gone. I used to be able to build a high end gaming PC for what a flagship card costs now. What I'm seeing most people doing now is mid grade pc that can do some things + consoles. Xbox even made it so you can just plug in a mouse and keyboard and sue those as controllers, I don't think you can do anything too fancy like macros but it works and it's around $500 which is cheaper than a 4070, just that one part not even going into the dozen other parts you need to make the pc run the same games but worse. It is just a dark time for pc gamers.

Haha, I’m experimenting with content creation entirely on mobile devices (iPhone & iPad) , using an app called Videoleap & CamoStudio. Seeing how it compares to traditional shoot & edit on desktop 🖥️ So taking any opportunity to shoot something

Thank you so much! I do try to review from a perspective of practical usage. In fact I'm putting more miles on items before reviewing them to make sure they aren't just great at first.... made that mistake with RAYCON... their gaming headset I had was good for about a year and then literally fell apart ... their customer support just ignored me too. Working on a Steel Series headset review, probably be another month before I'm ready to report on it though. Thanks for entering the giveaway, I'll take a look at that FLIP.

Well its an iPad, managing 3+ feeds may be a bit much for some processors (this is built to work on the A12 as well the M series) but also, it would start to become a handful to manage on screen while also ya’know… streaming and talking to viewers & such…. This keeps it simple and to the point I think.

Thanks for your detailed response. Although I would argue that the HOHEM Mic was not AT ALL engineered to attached to the Gimbal set up without compromise. It's rounded oval shape and direct plug design forces the user to slide the phone left/up and increase the imbalance (In both portrait / landscape) . So far.... the 90 degree dongle used with the NEEWER CM28 / FULAIM X5 actually reduces the balance compromise.

@@GeneralBuckles First of all, I have never owned or used a gimbal. Therefore I don't pretend to make arguments based on my experience. However, I have been researching and watching a lot of videos. Some of those videos provided by Hohem. The Hohem mic receiver is small/thin and light. The Hohem gimbal is engineered to support 400 grams. This is one the the Hohem selling points over the competition. I've seen examples people using the camera with and without a cellphone case. I've seen example with filters attached. On the Hohem homepage, they show a photo example with a small shotgun mic attached to the mounting as well as a fill light on a 1/4 mount attachment on one the axel arms. I'm a long time still photographer. I have used a lot of the same equipment that videographers might use. As I said upfront, video is a new path, but I do feel that it is a path that is somewhat familiar. ...Thank you for your earlier reply👍
