Atleti for the title? It's Groundhog Day all over again: the weekend in La Liga
มุมมอง 3721 วันที่ผ่านมา
We know 1993 was a long time ago but you’ve ALL seen Bill Murray starring in Groundhog Day and so has Graham, who, despite tipping Atletico Madrid as title contenders in previous seasons and being brutally disappointed, has nevertheless decided to stage his own Spanish Football Groundhog Day and mention them again, even in a conspiratorial whisper, as potential La Liga winners. Manuel Pellegrini: The Big Interview with Graham Hunter
มุมมอง 4.2Kปีที่แล้ว
We caught up with Chilean managerial legend Manuel Pellegrini in beautiful Seville and spoke about his Atlantic crossing to sample the different footballing styles that Italy, France and England had to offer. The English game wasn’t as primitive as some might claim - thanks to the innovating force of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and the adaptations of Fergie at Manchester United. Also in part one, t...
'I'd do things differently' | Manuel Pellegrini on his time with Real Madrid
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
Manuel Pellegrini's one year at Real Madrid yielded 96 points which in most other seasons, would've been more than enough to win La Liga. One problem? Pep Guardiola's Barcelona? The other main problem? Manuel's relationship with a certain Florentino Perez... 'Riquelme just played to his own pace!' | Manuel Pellegrini on classic number 10s in modern football
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
A tactical evolution in football has seen the usage of the false nine increase, and midfielders being asked to do more going both ways. With current formations and systems the way they are, is there still room for the classic number 10, like Francesco Totti, Michel Platini and a man whom Manuel Pellegrini had the pleasure to coach, Juan Roman Riquelme? 'Joaquin was THIS close to moving to the Premier League!' | Manuel Pellegrini on the maverick winger
มุมมอง 386ปีที่แล้ว
Joaquin has had a stellar career in Spain, starring for Real Betis, Valencia and Malaga. While he did venture abroad to Serie A with Fiorentina before returning to his first club, there remains a sense that the winger could have been an even bigger star in the game. He won over 50 caps for Spain before he was 27 but hasn't played for the national team since, despite being a regular at all his c...
Harry Kewell: The Big Interview with Graham Hunter
มุมมอง 24Kปีที่แล้ว
When you think of Harry Kewell, you picture a footballer of elegance, intelligence, lethal effectiveness. The great Leeds United side he played in was his perfect domain, surrounded by formidable talents such as Alan Smith, Lee Bowyer, Gary Kelly, Mark Viduka, Michael Bridges, Robbie Keane, Robbie Fowler and not least David Batty. Yet for all their sophistication, those men would battle it out ...
'There was a fight EVERY week - they'd threaten to kill us!' | Harry Kewell on 90s Leeds United
มุมมอง 10Kปีที่แล้ว
Mark Viduka, Robbie Keane, Harry Kewell, Alan Smith... and that was just the forwards. Add in a dose of Carlton Palmer and a helping of David Hopkin and the Leeds United training ground of the late nineties was a place where no mercy was taken as competition for places was rife. I feel sorry for Barcelona. What they have been presenting recently is also largely due to you, commentators. Especially those like you. You are barking at 36-year-old Robert for losing his form. You hate him. And Raphinia, Olmo or Yamal? Haven't they lost their form? Did someone forbid them from scoring goals with or without Lewandowski? How many good situations have they ruined? You have turned these youngsters into Gods. You will destroy them, because being selfish in today's football they have no chance. Barcelona's collective play from the beginning of the season has ended. Their selfish displays have begun thanks to you. Look at Real, and their collective play. Don't you understand today's football? I feel sorry for Barcelona. Much of this is due to you, people like you. You have no idea about today's football. You are old and should have stopped advising someone a long time ago on things you no longer understand.
Laudrup, fantástico jogador!
I Love how poetic and beautiful you describe football
I was there when he hit those two wonder shots at the Lane. What an intelligent man Steve is.
The owner of La croucaute. Proberly not spelled right !
Thank you sir!
Laudrep is a great player
A Son of Argentina, A Hero of The People, A King to The World! GOAT King Diego Forever.....
Maradona was unique, who cares about ballon d'or or titles.... i am talking about pure football!! Imagine if he had half of the drive and motivation of Cristiano Ronaldo eh eh. Maradona is Maradona!!!!
The Laudrup brothers were special. Brilliant to watch
Interesting; and Milan with their pressing thumped dream team 4-0 in ucl94 final. ==> now every coach worth their salt evangelises this. 🙂🙂
Bellingham dives and moans alot
This guy is so underrated
When football is played at an exceptional level it becomes an art form, but without teamwork it may come to nothing.
Que grande michael laudrup
Wise guy!
If Laudrup hadn't stopped this guy talking I don't think he would've got a word in Total menace of a man. Watch La Liga on mute
Hi Graham, Atleti fan myself, loved the analysis of the game, really interested to see how we can kick on, seemed like last night was a real turning point for us, personally, I haven't seen this belief from the team or the fans since the pandemic year when we won the league, Obviously, Cholo won't give anything anyway, Partido a Partido, but last night just felt different, and now the new signings like Alvarez and Sorthloth and Le Normand pre-injury gelling superbly, I feel anything is possible for the team and of course, Griezmann doing what he does best for years. Love your analysis every week on Premier regardless of the match, carry on your superb work of Spanish football.
Ludrup was a supreme Footballer, a true artist, check out the videos on him, sublime skill and technique
Respect to you Mr hunter. Been listening to you since 2005. Miss your phones calls to Mark Bolton. Good old days 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Michael Laudrup was a great player ! Diego was God !!!!!!!
14❤
Would👍
Diego,Messi and 3rd one 😂. CR7 is self trained, the first two are God given
Jaap vs ? Jaap on overlap says VVD is too slow
Wow, that’s an amazing story Graham. The name of his dad rang a bell and I’d said in my head I’m sure he was a keeper before you then confirmed it
Danny talking about Leverkusen, yes we’ve got Leverkusen 😃 In England, we have a closed media circle jerk type of affair. That Leverkusen team was fantastic. That was a team of top International players - for every Gerrard, there was a Ballack! Jens Nowotny or Hyppia?
Always like Danny as a pundit on BBC now TalkSPORT. Simon Jordan always respects and has deference to Danny’s career. Years late watching this, but confirmed he’s a class act.
I loved laudrup … he could play !! He’s up there for me in the worlds best !
After Maradona, Michael is the best number 10 of all time.
Great guy! Thanks for every great pass to Romario ❤🎉
Maradona, greatest ever 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Laudrup was an amazing football player. ❤
Growing up in the 70,s and 80,s i was used to grounds like hampden, ibrox, parkhead, pretty spoiled actually, until i went down to anfield and went in the kop end,it was against spurs, about 81 mickey hazard scored a penalty and i think spurs won. But was so dissapointed at the kop ,nowhere near the size or atmosphere as our grounds.❤
I will never understand all this "so and so is the GOAT" and defending it profusely.. it is only "he is my favourite".. For me, Zizou is my favourite player, is he the GOAT? Don't really care..
He doesn't say Maradona is the greatest but everyone gets it
What a nice person
closest we got to Maradona again was Ronaldinho Gaucho, not Messi
There is no better Brother Duo that Brian and Michael Laudrup!!!
Go on The Hunter
No one played like ML Vision from beyond
Just imagine him playing in a midfield with John Barnes and Steve McMahon. Damn, what could've been
Graeme and Norman Hunter on the same side? Ay right!
Messi has easily surpassed Maradona's achievements, even Ronaldo. Maradona was never as consistent and abused his body.
He is partly right Of course the leagues and cups are competitions Winning is all that matters But comparing their play is as useless as comparing art It's the old 'Beatles or Stones' question By the way: Stones 100%😊
The guy is right, not a competition, we peacefully, constructivly, and probabely accept that Maradona is the best ever :)
No debate Maradona.
My word! This is wonderful. Especially coming from one of the greats himself. Yes, they were/are all great in different ways.
Wait wait wait, Nicky went to Hill and Michael Thomas And Andy Gray went Henry Thornton So Kevin is talking about primary school, Ashby Mill, RIP RAMBO 🙏🏽
Nicky always told me about Kevin way before he was playing for the first team, Andy and Nicky are my uncles
