Hello, just an advice from frog eaters! When you drain oil on a 1200 Bandit, a quarter of the oil won't drain so any contamination would only be 75% removed. You can improve a bit by removing the oil sump which is a great opportunity to clean it as well as oil pump inlet screen.

    • @motorcyclingkiwistyle

@JulianCruzD - do you mean the two breather hoses from the tank that go straight down? One is slightly larger than the other. Actually it might be the carb vacuum ones. There is a carb heater valve on there which I have disconnected. Not required in sunny NZ 😊

I'm doing a little bit of body work on my Kawasaki rear fender, and I hate to say it but most of these plastic parts are "ABS" plastic. So what I had done was I went to the plumbing supply store and picked up some "Oatey" ABS cement, which is pretty much ABS dissolved into acetone. When you "glue" your ABS plumbing pipes together what actually happens is the acetone dissolves the pipe material and the pipes "melt" into each other. Shortly thereafter the acetone evaporates away and what you're left with is a pretty solid ABS welded assembly. Solid enough for plumbing purposes, anyway. I put "two and two" together and used the ABS glue to weld up a nasty crack in the fender, then added drips of ABS glue and built-up some worn edges. Sanded it all back smooth (120 grit and 220 grit) & did final finish with some primer suitable for plastic (400 grit wet-sand). "In my opinion" I wouldn't think of repairing ABS any other way: no metal staples or thermo-welding, no epoxy, no other cement. Best part: if you don't believe me, just pick up some shattered ABS pieces from a wrecking yard, and some Oatey ABS cement, & give 'er a whirl. (My thought: if that test doesn't work, it just proves the shattered pieces you got weren't actually ABS). (ABS = acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)

I have not shown a couple of things, like the soft coin between the crankshaft gear and clutch gear to lock up and stop them spinning when undoing the crank nut or the tedious but necessary scraping off of the old gasket material on the case and clutch cover. The block in the rear wheel is really a backyard way of locking the clutch shaft if you don't have the tool to hold the clutch in place. But it works, but do check the spokes afterwards! @thevoodoo57 - I go into a little detail on part 7 (th-cam.com/video/I8Z9jzKRiGQ/w-d-xo.html), but essentially the best way to hook it up is have the carbs still half out of the frame. I found out the hard way it is really difficult to do this while the carbs are installed. Just remember there are two places for the normal and return cables. • @motorcyclingkiwistyle

@uhtred7860 - they had a design flaw with that 3rd upright cylinder. If I recall, Honda made that conrod small end twice as big as the other 2 cylinder conrods to balance out the vibrations. Also the oil pump wasn't great. Saying that the MVX was a smooth fairly powerful bike to ride. But yes, not a patch on a KR250.

I recommend using some kind of fishtape or a zip tie to snake ur throttle cable straight down. Then u can jam ur hand inthere and wiggle it over the next obstruction with ur nimble fingers. After that get urself a long 12" pair of needle nose pliers and a headlight so u can get the end of the cable where it needs to go. This is the way to hook up that pesky open cable.

@musayldz3351 - first up, thanks for the kind words. Forgive me as I had to use Google Translate. Yes definitely carbs issues. First and foremost, new spark plugs. Also check the caps. New air filter if not already done. These are cheap fixes. If still running rough, then look at rebuilding the carbs. It's actually not that hard. Good luck 😎 öncelikle nazik sözleriniz için teşekkürler. Google Çeviri'yi kullanmak zorunda kaldığım için beni affedin. Evet kesinlikle karbonhidrat sorunu. Her şeyden önce yeni bujiler. Ayrıca kapakları da kontrol edin. Henüz yapılmadıysa yeni hava filtresi. Bunlar ucuz düzeltmelerdir. Hala zorluk yaşıyorsanız, karbonhidratları yeniden oluşturmaya bakın. Aslında o kadar da zor değil. İyi şanlar

Also. You will need to drill a tiny hole in your gas cap to vent and go with a gravity feed fuel valve and make sure to rubber cap the vacuum line port at the T Fitting.

@grabir01 - totally agree there. The standard tap always makes me nervous. I've heard that an FZ1 one fits in without too much trouble. Unsure but will investigate.

Major tips for removal and install of Bandit carb bank. Take it from me that has done Bandit carb banks over 20 times. Here they are. For the cables, loosen the throttle grip and and remove cables from the throttle grip. This will allow a ton of slack so you can easily unload the cables from the carb bank with the carb bank over halfway out making it super easy to remove and install the cables. Way way easier!! Wow! WAY!! For re-install, make sure all clamps are as open as they can be, use a hair dryer on high heat and heat soak the rubber boots and spray a ton of WD40 all over the carb rims and inside the boots to slicken them up. Easy install. When done with the engine side, do the same for the air box boots. Enjoy the ride.

@danb37 - nearly agree with you. I had a 1990 XR250R. Loved it. I think the 200 just has the charm the 250 doesn't. Thanks for watching my video 🙂
