The reason why the greatest number of tech house songs, as shown on Beatport, use Am is because most tech house is in a minor key and Am the easiest minor on the keyboard. Am is all the white keys, and it's the first minor key that the vast majority of people learn. The fact that it's at the top of the list does not at all mean that it's particularly better than other minor keys for this genre, where musicality is concerned.

This was helpfull for me as I'm just starting music production by myself.

Appreciate the effort but the groove sounds off.. Also it's pretty basic stuff. What I would like to know is how they get those fat background grooves that producers like John Summit and Tomi & Kesh use in their tracks cause I find it very hard to find out how they get it so fat/thick and at the same time they keep the individual sounds split so well in terms of room depth and prevent it from just sounding like one squashed up mess. Unfortunately I haven't found any videos elaborating on that yet..
