Cross River Rail
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 พ.ค. 2017
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and the CBD.
South East Queensland’s population is rising, putting our transport network under pressure.
The current rail network is already nearing capacity and is constrained by a single river crossing and just four inner-city stations, causing the bottleneck that limits our ability to run more trains.
The Cross River Rail project unlocks this bottleneck by delivering a second river crossing, allowing more trains to run more often and integrating with new roads and new bus services to enable a turn-up-and-go public transport system across the whole of South East Queensland.
This transformational project will improve our quality of life, help our economy keep growing, generate thousands of jobs and activate urban development, across the whole of South East Queensland.

A Look Back at 2022 on Cross River Rail
Wouldn't mind seeing normal speed version of this video please as I've watched this crane get somewhat disassembled
I'm visually impaired and I still can't read any of the train departure boards as they're all at roof height. Please put them on walls at head height.
So that’s how they despawn out of nowhere
I hope that the escalators installed at these new sites ARE NOT supplied and installed by the team that installed the latest ones at Central. Every week, often twice a week, one of them fails. They are less than 2 years old. 🤦🏻♂️
cross river rail what a ripoff
Love these update videos - Thankyou!
Looking more impressive than the new Melbourne Tunnel!
Based on the length of time its taken, and the cost, Brisbane must be the first city in the world to build a subway it seems. Amazing technology!
Assuming this comment is intended as sarcasm, I will add some factors that give a more realistic context. - Not all cities are the same. A hole in the ground isn't always the same thing not because of the hole, but because of all the things you need to dig through to make the hole (the different soil and rock types, surface vs deeper geology, plus hydrology which is a major factor when building in a floodplain city like Brisbane. - These challenges multiply when you are completing a project of a kind that hasn't been done recently (or ever) in Brisbane. Not only do you not have a base of experienced workers and engineers on hand, you have to rediscover a lot of the above realities about working in the Brisbane geological environment.
@@Beeblebrox6868 utter RUBBISH! Australia has built multiple underground rail systems over generations and Brisbane itself, doubled its own inner-city rail tunnel capacity, in the early 1990's, such feats are well within the skills-sets available! It's been a typical ALP/CFMEU co$tly stuff-up, from day 1 😂
@@mmmail1969 This reply is a general spray with partisan political flavouring but lacking anything like informed analysis. You missed the point I was making which is that "Australia" isn't a city, it's many cities, each with very different conditions. You can't cookie-cutter this stuff. And the way tunnels were built in the early 1990s was quite different - they weren't using TBMs back then.
@@Beeblebrox6868 doesn't change the FACTS! God Bless!
@@mmmail1969 name a single fact youve said in this entire comment chain. you're right. your opinion doesnt change the facts. earthworks and especially tunneling is an extremely complex and varied process, that is highly reliant on the soil makeup along every cm of the dig.
I was looking forward to this project being completed in 2025, but it has been put back to 2029. Why the delay? Exasperating! It's only 10klms long so it shouldn't take so long to be in service. Why is the government factoring in costs over a 25 year period? It appears the LNP are treating us like fools.
probably trying to throw some blame so when they finish behind schedule they can say they where early
It's very unlikely to not be completed and running until 2029, more realistically it should be complete by 2026 with services likely running in 2027. 2029 was more of a politics call (to make the opposition look bad) than anything else from the contacts I know of in the industry.
CFMEU
does this video hurt the unions? i heard they are sensitive about this project.
You're thinking of every project 😂
Brisbane is my favourite city Brisbane… more like BRISVEGAS🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎰🎰🎰💸💸💸
AND THEY CALL HIM BIG JUSTICE CAUSE THAT WHAT HE SERVES!!!
So when is it all opening? The media is blowing it out to 2029?!
i can't see it being completed in 2029 with how much progress has been done to me it likes 2 more years is needed because fit out has already started or is about to begin, but i guess the government knows more than us.
government is overestimating so they can open it in late 2026 and call it “early”
Good stuff! How’s exhibition station going?
Saw it recently since there were closures through the city corridor and we had to take the exhibition loop to Roma St. It's coming along nicely from the outside, I'm personally very excited
Same with Jay, looked like it was nearly finished and that all there needs to be done is just installing furniture and stuff along those lines. I'd probably guesstimate that it will be done in time for next year's Ekka
still gonna have to wait until 2029 sadly.
At this point of the time, the project is almost certainly going to be finished before 2029. At the earliest being around late 2026
@@BrissyTrainSpottinglol you are misinformed. Do you have any idea how long it takes to test electrical interlocking?? No I bet you don't. Years ... Also have you seen Normanby yard?? It's a construction site and there's so much fitting and tidying up to do yet. 2026 yeah right... You don't understand construction
oh great, it looks like you do this for a living, going around to CRR themselves and calling them “wrong” Get a Life ☠️
@@BrissyTrainSpottingyou have the name "Brissy train spotting" and you have the audacity to tell me to get a life?? 😅 Okay bro. If that's the level of your intellect. And so you know, you are wrong. You have zero clue on how construction works, because if you think this project will be up and running to the public by 2026 then you seriously need a wake up call.
@@BrissyTrainSpotting what kind of life should I get?? One where I walk around Brisbane spotting trains?? And posting my uneducated opinion online? Maybe I can learn from you.. since you're the master
When will construction start and finish?
So your not opening until 2029
Why is it so boring?, 😂 the nondescript colour scheme? no sign of any art inside and steps galore Who's at fault here?, our architecture departments haven't been producing too many Zaha Hadids.they I can understand that, with the but we should certainly aim higher. This was our chance to leave behind some unique infrastructure getting ready for the Olympics. I've grown tired of the self-congratulatory tone of all these presentations. It appears that. as per usual, the spin doctors and media think we're creating wonders of the world. A quick tour of Chinese cities might be a good start.
No way near as interesting as the Metro in Sydney or the Melbourne Metro Tunnel stations. The cut off seat with concrete legs sums it all up - half baked.
“Off the shelf benches have legs, so we cut the legs off and put it on two blocks of granite”. Aren’t we great! Lmfao great work team.
I honestly think the station looks pretty dull. It could really use some art or something that ties in Queensland’s history. That would make it not just more attractive but also a space that feels connected to the community and its story.
Please tell me there’s more than one accessible toilet. 🤞🏻
Now can we have a new roof canopy over the exsisting platforms
good job team. inclusivity of public transport is imperative to society
It’s so nice to think that we can have everyone on board
I have got a New Year Resolution, maybe I’m going to stop looking the updates by since now into next week and until Early 2026.
Woolloongabba is the second underground station for the Cross River Rail project to install a canopy structure roof.
yo
Should have built the Olympic stadium over the station site. Or you know, just cancel the bloody thing.
Very disappointing to see that advertising is going to dominate yet again. Commuters want to know train directions, platforms and times NOT KFC Big Bash advertisements.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Like how the artworks are going across the underground stations. 😁😊
Beautiful
frogs hollow instead of Albert Street Station (ASS) misses an opportunity to add some flavour to the city for a tourist, oh well.
Can’t wait yo be on those trains!
Like how I saw the update before, this is a BIG GIANT step forward for the Cross River Rail project.
Wrong. Unfinished, points had to be manipulated to get the train in the tunnel. The electrical interlocking system was not functioning to get the train in the tunnel. It's still a construction site. .. The 1st train was just a publicity stunt. Not a giant step, but a stupid one. Would you drive an unfinished vehicle on an ungraded motorway with no signage??? .😅
Are they only going to use the NGR for cross river rail or a new train?
whats ngr
only ngr for now before the nngr is out. Pretty sure SMU and IMUs do not have the power for the steep incline.
NGRs for now and once QTMPs are built they can handle the grades too.
@@cameronkoch12 the latest big long trains. not the ones that have 2 trains attached to each other. NGR stands for Next Generation Rollingstock
NGRs, already have ETCS, and they will immediately be running in the tunnels. IMU 160s and SMU 260s will be and have been upgraded to have a life extention, including upgrades to support ETCS Level 2. And of course, the QTMP trains, colloquially called by some the "Olympic" trains will immediately run in the tunnels.
Above like Kallangur station! Awesome❤
One step closer
Like how the stations are taking shape and going well into 2024. I will check onto the updates of the Cross River Rail website by June 2025, which I’m now stopping to view the updates by Next Monday.
Looking so cool right now!
nice
Can’t wait until Early 2026
Nice work!
Is this the first time ETCS is not in Europe?
It's widespread - China uses a modified version, Africa, India, south America have ETCS installations as well
As a Sydney Syder, this is amazing for the city of Brisbane and even Queensland railway as a whole. I am glad Brisbane is also getting a metro style line right under their CBD and out to the suburbs. I am looking forward to visiting Brisbane and hoping on in 2026. Keep up the great work. 🤗
Central is a pain in the ass. My train got delayed by a whole 17 minutes because it was stuck behind 5 other late running trains
anything underground scares me. It is said reptilian aliens have thier own tunnels underneath us. What garantee do you have that people do not encounter them?
