Welcome to RC Engineering! Here we will talk about the science of RC with real word testing.
Flex Link 12th Car Prototype - Short Insight
The car is V2 of an idea I had on January 11, 2024 while out on a walk. The video is a quick description sent to a friend explaining some basics of the concept. As I like little snips of the "inside" of car development, I decided to share it with others who might be interested.

A Trials Adventure Begins! | 2023 GasGas TXT Racing 250
มุมมอง 4.1K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Although I learned to ride off-road at age 5, trials is something I've never done before. The physical aspect, the puzzle aspect of each section and the fun of just being on a bike lead me here. Wasn't looking for a new bike, but this deal was too good to pass up! Completely stock, let's have some fun on a steep learning curve. See if this old dog can learn some new tricks.

Radio Track Test : Sanwa versus Flysky
มุมมอง 32Kปีที่แล้ว
We test the well known Sanwa radio system on track against the Flysky Noble Pro. Which delivers the faster laps? Which is more consistent? We dig into settings, go over the weights and give lap time comparisons for the radios in different cars.
Have you had any issues with the rear brake line running that close to the exhaust
No as the kit comes with a bracket extension to move the reservoir and line. It’s not a big move but significant enough for zero issues, even on long rides.
I did mine and get a tick when throttle is turnt..
I didn't have that at all. Make sure you are getting clearance between the tube and the throttle cam on the throttle body. I'm very careful in these areas to make sure there's enough clearance in everything to do with the throttle cable, as a stuck throttle is one of the worst things that can happen!
Nost motorcycle turn signals have been like that quite a while lol.
Where do you get the Silicone wheel?
It's a Vigor silicon wheel. I've had it for years, on several radios, and don't remember where I got it. It cleans with a quick wipe of anything other than a harsh chemical and provides the same feel run after run. Highly recommended and I don't really know why more people don't use them 🤷♂️
Where did you get your front blinkers?
They are TST. With their mounts and relay.
I love trials ! I started when I was about 11 years old and now I am 60 years old ! I have a wide range of motercycles ! Trials taught me more about riding a bike that any other bike ! I still have a CR 500 ,2 450 4 strokes and a cr 250 ! I am looking for a new trials ! There nothing like it !
What is the Nobble Pro like today in 2024. Is it better than a Sanwa M17
Nothing to show for the install? Blah
It was an amazingly simple install. My initial plan was to trial fit it and then do an install video, but the trial went so quick and easy that I didn’t see the point of an install video. Just a couple of screws, align everything and tighten. That boring 😂
@@RC-Engineering Yeah I get it. I was a bit curious about that upper bracket. It's a nice look though.
Looks great! My stock I am able to get 1.6litre/100km. Mind you, its mostly cruising the back roads…and also a lot of patiently riding to keep the Mrs in sight on her Ruckus!🤭
Hello watched your video, thanks for posting. I am in Australia and I have the identical bike new. Just wandering what is your mix ratio and do you have an issue with the engine returning to idle very slowly. Not talking about 'running on' so much but mine seems to take it's time getting back to idle. Like you I just love this bike. It's a new adventure for me, first Trials bike. Have you posted a further video after riding it for a while? Thanks again
I run 1.5% mix as per the manual. Seems to work well. There are a couple more videos on my channel, one about gearing that made a big difference for me on this bike. Enjoy :)
Do you sell the bell mouth or have an stl?
It’s quite a DIY thing and was not something I want to commercialize. It took a good bit of fitting and there’s no way I could “guarantee” its success.
@@RC-Engineering I get that I’m like you I want to ride in all weather conditions and increase the air intake volume. I’ve used bell mouth intakes on my k-series civics with measurable success. Figured I’d ask before moving forward on my own. Did you print it out of pla or abs?
I printed in PETG. I’ve done something similar on my CRF300 airbox and its stood up really well.
@@RC-Engineering haha are we twins? Red 2023 groms and I’m also looking at buying a 300L rally.
That’s what I have, the Rally, lol. I’ve since sold the Grom though and have a NX500 in its place. Loved the Grom but I go on longer distance adventures with the NX.
I did the Decha tube, no exhaust and according to my ‘butt dyno’ it made a difference. I found I hit higher RPM’s across the board and got to those RPM’s faster compared to stock. Just my experience 🤷🏻♂️
I think if you ride it for a while after the mod, especially riding with a lot of WOT, the ECU will trim more fuel giving better performance. It’s what I saw after also adding the exhaust. So I think your butt dyno could be telling the truth!
What brand of trials helmet did you buy? I am having a hard time finding one in the US.
I couldn’t find any here in Canada either. And being Canadian also means I’m used to not getting free shipping, so I ordered a Hebo from the UK. One week for delivery, but I knew my size to take away that risk.
Is a flysky fs-g7p ok for racing for someone on a budget?
What is everyone's thoughts on a flysky fs-g7p?
Are you still happy with the gearing. How is the bike running down low ie pilot jet
I picked a bit of crud in the carb and the bike started running weird at low revs. As it was a hot day, I was wondering if the pilot was too lean and switched back to the factory 45 jet, but that wasn't it and i just cleaned out the carb to get everything back to normal. I left in th 45 and honestly can't really tell the difference now. Starting is similar with both.
How did the gearing go with the bigger sprocket
The gearing change is excellent, I'm kind of wondering why the bike isn't like this from factory. My dad now has a Beta Evo with a slightly lower first gear and is quite comparible in low speed maneuvering. Highly recommend chaning the gearing on the GG.
What front and rear bike stand are those? Ty
Venom purchased on Amazon. Front is a bit iffy on the Grom and I modified it. The rear is perfect on the TST spools.
Wtf I just tried this after watching this video. You learn something new each day, also works on Navi’s too
Chique 🏎💥💨😎😍👍🏻💪🏼🤛🏻
I have the same bike as you and right after I got it I went to do some trail riding and found out that the bike could easily get away from me with just the slightest throttle change. I was coming down a trail and my hand slipped and opened the throttle and threw me off the bike breaking 6 ribs, my clavicle, punctured my lung and split a six inch full depth gash in my knee. Since then I’ve put on the flywheel weight and the head spacer which helped some but it’s still too quick in 1st when I just want to basically idle slowly around obstacles. My old Yamaha TY 250 was very much smoother. Are you happy with your 10/42 gearing now or do you still want to go lower, maybe to a 9/42? Thanks!😊
That's a nasty fall! I have a flywheel weight and low compression head on the way, but I've been very happy with the gearing since changing it. I don't think it needs to be lower than the 10/42 now. What I've found is my clutch control has improved and I can easily control the low speed now with the 10/42. The goal with the low compression head is easier starting and smoother running with our lower octane fuel here in Canada.
Compared to you, I got off lightly. Only 8 internal sutures and 19 external on my left thigh. Hope you are all healed up
Have you heard a Yoshi? Is the Tyga quieter?
The Yoshimura high mount exaust was not available when I got the Tyga. I can't compare the sound, the Tyga is not overly loud though.
@@RC-Engineeringstill happy with the Tyga? I’m thinking about placing the order
Excellent quality, and a great sound. Without a dyno it’s difficult to test true performance but I felt a good difference when combined with the intake mods. I highly recommend it.
Where to purchase this tyga high mount exhaust. Can you please post the link to where you bought this? Thank you
I ordered directly from Tyga. Shipping was reasonable and very quick.
I ordered it dofectly from tyga too feb 27th but my order is still pending . I ve emailed tyga several times butbi cant get a response. Does your paperwork have a phone number that i can call? Thanks for responding

Even tuned rich with a chimera intake and yoshi full pipe i still average about 120mpg - + 5mpg although stock my 2022 got 200mpg blown away by that ive never seen that from any other grom
Hello. Have you found any charts for the carb jets and or reccomend spring weights?
The carb was jetted per the manual (page 118-119). Also the manual suggested weights seem spot on (page 38).
@@RC-Engineering When I bought the bike a year ago...I looked all over for online manuals....looks like gasgas finally got it together. 👍
Sanwa has joined the chat room 😅😂
Please more TXT Videos
I'm now running 10/42, far better in my opinion. I actually think they come with a 39 purely down to physical size and clutch riding is now commonplace.
Why don't you just use all master links? Or buy a chain breaker.
I used the existing master link and added another, but also need an inner link to connect them. I could have used a chain breaker on the link and a half I bought for the I net link, but I had an inner link on hand.
I was just being an ass i saw what you did all good 👍
😂😂😂
I have a 23txt 250 gp and changed the gearing as well. I was coming from the beta and the txt felt very high. I just dropped the front sprocket a tooth and it has been a great change. I also find the power of the 250 more linear now and more comparative to the beta 300 I have.
How is the angle and chain wrap near the front sprocket clip? I looked into it, as can be seen in the calculations, but ultimately decided 10t was already on the small side and changed the rear sprocket.
@@RC-Engineering I was a bit worried about that but the Sherco 125 I have has 9/42 gearing so I figured a 9 tooth front sprocket would work. It's a tighter angle, but no issues clearing anything. It was a quick change out.
Great info, thanks for sharing!
Just so you know, most people in Spain directly switch the 10tooth standard front sprocket for a 9tooth, specially for section riding. Myself included. No problems whatsoever✌🏼
great video Phil :)
Thanks Jack! Next one will be about getting it to start better, that day took a lot out of me, lol
Hi! Dont worry about doing an oil change yet. U shold do it at around 15h of hard use. Ive been riding trials for 16 years now, if u have any doubts just tell me!!
Thanks! I changed it at 7 hours. While not very dirty, the sump magnet was full of small filings. As a bonus hidden gem on the bike, the fill plug is identical to the sump plug and also has a magnet! That magnet had some much larger metal splinters on it. I was pleased to have both magnets clean even if the oil wasn’t desperately in need of change.
I also have a ‘23, traded off my ‘22 on it. I have absolutely no regrets in doing so. I’m subscribed to twowheelgeriatric and really enjoy his content. Your overview was very well done, looks like I’m adding another subscription.
Just a heads up, I bought a brand new 2021 TXT 300 a few weeks ago, old stock so picked it up at a great price. Rode it once did, just over an hour, stored it in my garage with the handle bars hard right. Next day I pulled it out and started it up. Little did I know the throttle cable dislodged from the throttle on the handle bars and was resting on the edge, covered by the rubber boot so not visible to me. This effectively set the stop at about 10% throttle on. The engine started and just stared to rev its tits off. Not knowing what was happing , I twisted the throttle closed but didnt help, so pulled the kill switch on the handle bars and the engine didnt stop to my shock. About 10 seconds later the engine seized due to the piston heating up way faster than the cylinder. My dealer has now fixed it under warranty. Takeaway points from my experience The throttle cable is really short The throttle cable just floats at the connection with the throttle tube , I will be lock wiring that in place from now on. Do not rely on the kill switch to work on a 2 stroke, It must have been self igniting. Have a strategy in place so if this runaway engine happens to you , you know what to do in the 10 seconds you have before self destruct. Nigel New Zealand
Ouch! That’s a harsh start with a new bike. 😢 Before I rode the bike, I went over it carefully. Removing the airbox, wheels, tank and more, I carefully went over electrics and cable routing. Everything was fine, but I’d heard about the throttle potentially being an issue at the throttle body. After carefully going over it, I didn’t find any issues. Also, since I was very young, I always snap the throttle before starting. It has to return effortlessly or I won’t attempt to start. Not sure why I developed this habit, but I’ve found a couple times through the years where I needed to investigate before starting.
Definitely change the oil!! if you just undo the top plug for the oil and look at the magnet you will see why you want to change it. I did mine after one ride (though you don't seem to ride much id get more hours on mine after one ride then yours has.). id change it quite often while the bike is new as you seem to get plenty of bits in the oil to start with. Im in the uk and my bike has only ever run on 99 octane ( though I think you rate it different then we do)
Nice vid. I’d change the oil only to get any potential debris out as it’s a new engine. For the sake of the cost of a bit of oil definitely worth it.
Thanks! I’ll change oil before next outing 🙂
Does the 2023 model have the gearbox click/crunch when shifting from 4th gear to 5th?
I haven’t noticed! Mind you, I’ve only been practicing low speed and maybe had it in 5th 2-3 times. What I have noticed is that shifting is a deliberate effort compared to my other bikes, but I put that down more to the shifting geometry with lever shape an of course how far it is from the footpeg.
ive got a 24 model and yes it does still crunch if you don't let right off between 4th and 5th.
I'm guessing it has to do with switching out of 4th with it's multiple-engaged gears to a significant jump in ratio to 5th. One of the disadvantages of the 4+2 configuration?
@@RC-Engineering I don’t really see it as a massive disadvantage. It’s a trials bike. 1 to 4 are the only gears you would use in a section. (It’s one massive bog if you’ve got up to 4th 🤣😂). Then 5th and 6th are only used on long runs between sections. And once you get the knack of rolling right off the throttle going from 4th to 5th it doesn’t always crunch either. Just most of the time. 🤣😂
I have a 23 300 TXT and I recently switched from 93 non-ethanol fuel to 50/50 mix of 110 race gas and 89 non-ethanol to get overall gas mix to just under 100 octane. Am using with premix at 100:1. Huge improvement in the way the engine runs, much crisper, doesn’t stall as easily and kick starts more easily! 2 other club members here in NC with same bike have done the same and are equally pleased. 👍
ive been trying to find videos on the decha tube for a while. i did mine maybe 5 months ago. i also run the K&N air filter and the K&N oil filter with royal purple 10w40maxcycle. i also have a cheap amazon exhaust but i want the yoshimura rs-9t in the future as my amazon exhaust is already rattling. what are you thinking of your setup? not many people modify the stock airbox and some get an oil cooler to support the fairings with big bore setups.
oh and i use the tst worx industries ram airbox cover. overpriced piece of plastic but it looks very nice and factory.
I’m really pleased with my setup. The intake mods with the Decha tube and modified cover seem to be an improvement. Combined with the high mount Tyga exhaust, I’ve seen a significant gain in overall performance.
@@RC-Engineering dont forget the ecu flash, the motors come running lean from the factory due to emissions which is why airbox was so choked off. The ecu will not be able to see the new amount of air and less restriction due to the lack of wideband sensor (02) and with same fuel trim and more air youll run hotter than stock!!!
CTSR ? I race there haha , such a cool RC complex
you have to check out the Radiomaster MT12!
Excellent new bike overview and interesting points you make. Do more vids soon. Cheers
Great choice, non of your sherco/scorpa nonsense
lol, thanks. I might have considered the new Sherco/Scorpa, but it would never be at the price I got the GG for. The more I learn about it, the more I’m loving this TXT!
Why did you choose to go decha tube instead of the full airbox delete options like chimera or mmtnbox?
For weatherproofness. I intend on riding year round and need the bike to be ok in rain. Plus I ride on dusty road at times and need that protection too. So far no water issues and even in heavy dust the air cleaner doesn’t see much. Happy with this setup!
I have the v3 and got caught in rain and it got into my intake and bogged me down and shut my bike off I recommend stock I'm actually looking buy a oem intake box
I hated the way the clutch line snapped as well. I just used a zip tie to move it away, but now I'll do the permanent fix with the Dremel. Looking forward to seeing some trials videos!
