Pretty much every generation of Soviet citizens had their war. The first was the lost generation, who fought in WW1, and their civil war after that. Then the G.I. Generation had WW2. Then the Hungarian counter revolution. Then the Czech counter revolution, the Sino-Soviet war, and the war in Afghanistan. In these wars, people fought and died in the millions for what they believed in and for their very lives. Then it was all taken away from them by three men who ignored Soviet democracy one last time and dissolved the USSR against their country's wishes.
Its too bad they dissolved just the USSR, and not Russia as well!
If you live in a Western country, you'll see this in your lifetime. Certainly America or Britain.
