fun fact: "barber surgeons" as they where called learned on the go back then. So basically the patient was more like a test subject.

This is a good way of learning instead of reading books, I am not saying that reading books are not good but it will help children. This is extremely helpful when I am doing History Homework.

Can't help but feel this sketch is a bit unfair to European doctors. While there are reports of Europeans amputating body parts unnecessarily, one Muslim courtier at the court of Saladin reported a Crusader doctor treating a man's led ridden with sores by washing it in vinegar.
Fun Fact: Doctors in Medieval Europe often doubled as butchers.
To be honest, I would be concerned (read: terrified) if I knew that the surgeon who's gonna operate on me is the town butcher...
I knew some where barbers but not that. Sheesh.
