Weird how the subtitles are wrong here but are usually correct and animated in other versions

What's really interesting about this song is that the lyrics are kind of a reverse Genesis narrative. Humans, fauna, flora, the land, the sky, and finally the day and night being swallowed by the tree. Not sure how or even if this ties thematically to the anime, but it's interesting. It gives the song more of a "folk song" feel.

Just realized this has a similar energy to the Final Hours theme from Majora's Mask... Real interesting. (Also, the instant after I realized that, I noticed the song had come up in the recommendations, so apparently youtube thinks so too) Anyway, the Tree and Skull Kid seem to be very similar characters between the song and the game... both do similar things because they feel lonely-- they commit an act that would cause everyone and everything they know to disappear. I'm still about 3/4 through watching though (and taking my time with it) so there might be even more parallels with the show. Edit: finished it and it's soo good
