@@StarShipIntrepid ¿COMO SE DICE "¡JUA-JUA-JUA!" EN VULCANO????
I’ve been watching Star Trek since 1960s. This cold open was really pretty terrific. I think you captured the essence of the photography and the spirit of the old franchise. Well done. The other characters didn’t get a lot of screen time, that makes sense. But the lead character certainly had stage presence.
Hey thanks for watching, appreciate the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m about a decade behind you, but grew up with just TOS, TAS and whatever books we had back then. Star Trek has always stuck with me. :) Glad you enjoyed this, we should be posting the rest of the film before too long. I hope you’ll come back and check it out. :)
@ I will I appreciate your work
Thank you so much!
It’s amazing how the people who are hired to host these can’t get their facts straight.
Sorry, I’m afraid you’ll have to be a bit more specific. This is quite an old film, and I’m not really sure what your point is?
I have been wondering just why it is that 'indie' sci-fi is turning out to be so much more interesting and engaging than the big studio dross we've been fed for a decade ... and I think it really does come down to a bunch of people with some enthusiasm for what they are doing telling a *story* rather than filling a DEI checklist to the satisfaction of a HR committee.
Thanks for watching!
Great intro....looking forward to the next bit!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We’re hoping to get the entire film out very soon. :)
This is fun-looks like a tv show! Well done, everybody involved! 🖖🏼
Thanks so much. This is one of our much older films, glad enjoyed it!
Love it love it
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!
Fascinating!
Glad you liked it, thanks for checking it out. :)
Excellent. Of course!
Why thank you kindly Moe! Shouldn’t be too long until the whole film is done and released now. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid Always worth waiting for. Yours is one of two productions I'd want to crew for, if I could. Not to mention audition for. ;)
Intriguing cold open! What has happened, and who is that TOS era crew member? Looking forward to finding out! 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎
All good questions. What do you think’s going on? :)
@StarShipIntrepid Well "Echoes" is making me wonder about time overlapping.
Ooh, I just noticed rewatching it, it's a TOS Stardate! From our Science lady then!
Just Beautiful all the way around! The CG, the drone shots. Perfect phaser stun effect. Intriguing setup! Can't wait to see the rest!
Thanks Josh, appreciate the kind words. :)
Looks intriguing! Also, nice camera work.
Thanks so much!
Seems like TOS meets Voyager, "Fascinating" 🖖!
Thanks for checking it out!
Absolutely hilarious! Star Trek IV was my favorite - thanks for the memories!!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching. Voyage Home is one of my favorites too. Loved visiting all those locations from the film.
@@StarShipIntrepid I used to live in the Bay Area (Fremont and Alameda), and was in the city regularly. The locations were fun to see again!
That 58 seconds is better than anything I've seen from a studio. Good to see Intrepid flying again! And that accent. <swoooon> Gotta love an Irish accent! Very much looking forward to more.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. Interesting that the actor sounds Irish, they’re from Cyprus. :)
start with a bang
We try. :)
Well here's a channel I hadn't expected to see
Glad you could find us, hope you find something to enjoy here. :)
Intriguing! Lovely opening shots too :D
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it, Aaron. Hopefully won’t be too long before we release the whole thing now.
Ooh, This looks like it's gonna be amazing!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
oooooh now this is intriguing
Thanks for watching. Shouldn’t be too long before we release the rest of it.
Love the overhead drone shot, Intrepid Team!
Thanks Matt, that was a first for us for sure. :)
Sweettttt.... that music is superb !!!
Thanks Jami! Dylan really can cook!
OK, I'm curious now. I'll wait for the rest. Keep me posted Captain. ;-)
The rest will be coming soon. Stay tuned. :)
This was pretty good my only issue was some parts the dialogue and accents was hard to understand especially the parts were the audio was very echoey and the ending was a bit rushed.
Thanks, appreciate the kind words. Yeah we shot most of this quite a few years ago, and for various reasons it sat on a shelf for a few years. When we eventually finished it we shot some new footage and rewrote the ending in post, so yeah it does come off a bit rushed, and some of the dialogue recording isn’t as good as it could have been. Sorry about that. :)
Glad I found this, awesome story and message that hits home, one I have taught my children and now 2.5 year old granddaughter, thanks and bravo!
Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it, and appreciate you taking the time to comment. :)
I have to admit this guy plays a good Picard. And well done all around.
Thanks for watching! And for the kind words. :)
Would love to watch this, but at 240p the whole video is just a big blur.
Yeah unfortunately this one is a product of the equipment and resources we had when we started, and was captured and edited at a lower resolution on a consumer camcorder. There is an upscaled version on another TH-cam channel but I don’t have the link to hand right now. For what it’s worth, our newer films aren’t limited in that way. :) Thanks for checking us out. More to come from us soon.
Try this link. Bit better resolution. th-cam.com/video/ULzVQHTPnXo/w-d-xo.html
13 yrs later first time seeing this, Fantastic! Liked and subbed! maybe bring some more attention to this. Maybe re up this to better than 360p?
Hey thanks for watching and for subbing. Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately our resources at the time were limited to these older films are at lower resolutions. At some point we might revisit them but for now we’re focused on making new films. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid Thank you Thank Thank you! keep up the good work. Thanks for the link too.
This is so cute, funny, hilarious, & utter genius!! More of these fun mis-adventures please
Thanks so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Another wonderful episode
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it, anything in particular that you liked?
did I hear a section 31 snippet here? Bishop yes I believe it is
Indeed you did!
@@StarShipIntrepid what an interesting line to great Audio series
It's RATINGS TIME! Though lacking in more raw action. but thought provoking..this British born Star Trek is really quite good! Production quality was on par with it's American Paramount "Next Generation' quality! The music score was good,.. and the acting was American standard American quality! Four and a half out of FIVE STARS!
Thank you so much for watching and your very kind words. I’m so happy you enjoyed our efforts. We are amateurs, and we know we’re far from perfect, but it’s always lovely to hear when someone appreciates our efforts. Thank you so much!
@@StarShipIntrepid Looked pretty Pro to me! 😀
How did you know Shelby's name was gonna be elizabeth that wasn't decided TIL Picard season three! great job!!!!
Afraid we can’t take any credit for that, the actor was guessing from playing the same role on Hidden Frontier. They were basing her character on the New Frontier novels, where she was called Elizabeth. I’m guessing the Picard showrunners just ran with the name from the books.
oh and another thing i noticed that hunters sacuraty wolf wannaby was wearing a star fleet acadamy uniform -also i have a question was the reason room on hunters ship a interpid class by the way each room was the size of a broom closet was because of the Axanar law suit ?
Hey thanks for watching. Chief Petty Officer D’Gor, our Klingon security officer was actually wearing a costume based on the combat uniforms seen in a couple of episodes of DS9 (Nor The Battle To The Strong and Siege of AR-558). As to the size of the sets, we shot this more than fifteen years ago, Axanar didn’t exist then. The set size was due to the limited space we had to build sets, which is also why we later transitioned to entirely greenscreen starship interiors. :)
I imagine it's likely been posited or addressed in the 11+ years since Stone Unturned was published on TH-cam, but as the Enterprise-E is still intact in this time period, her masterseat is presently Jean-Luc Picard and I presume the present production precedes Star Trek X: Nemesis, I'm thinking that would not be Picard but his genetically salvaged, partially Reman clone Shinzon (later Viceroy Shinzon) having taken the place of the 1701-E's captain, temporarily or for an extended period of time. The mention of a suppressed Romulan subcultural exodus with limited context beyond the stones, some anecdotal records passed down mostly by individuals of Romulan descent- I would assume this includes the Intrepid's COO; I have no familiarity beyond the present characters and their tales in your storybuilding, beyond what I've seen in 'A Stone Unturned'- and later on, the 'victims' turning out to be in fact Klingons undergoing genetic sampling, diagnostics and TAGC harvesting for Romulan-compatible transcriptease elements for genetic therapy and repair; well, I do rather remember Cold Station 12, and the explanation in the final season of Star Trek: Enterprise as to why Klingons were shorn of their crest for two or three generation until their genome's modified aesthetics bounced back. Likewise that the ship's counselor, a full-descent Betazoid is alone transferred off-craft on a standard crew assignment/rotation- a reasonable explanation for a potential removal of direct, living witness that would be admissible under Betazed's Federation subcharter as evidence for the relief of a senior officer of duty. Captain Hunter is a good man for considering this, and the safety of his ship's counselor and others on board if he had put up a fight that the impostor might've expected and would not at all be averse to an entire ship's crew or the craft itself becoming collateral damage in the process, even simply to conceal the evidence aboard ship. Far moreso than that in Hunter's going with the transition flow, and observing what came afterwards on his chosen terms; had he fought the transfer her end might've been far more permanent if her presence had jeopardized the impostor's cover story. Shinzon, as much as he sympathized with the Tal Shi'ar for his own ends, wanted more than anything to live long enough to burn his genefather Picard in living funeral and watch his world and its beloved oath fall to pieces with nothing to spare him the sacred decess of a charnel messiah. Captain Hunter's ignorance of this was bliss, and the Chief of Operations I suspect, given the oddly pronounced lack of interest he would not elaborate upon, knew how important what he knew was to lock behind a reasonable limit of enquiry and say nothing more. When the time came, U.S.S. Intrepid and her crew could act if they chose to without the frisson of fear that might've come with anticipating the worst, later confirmed, if so. And the rings. Who could forget the rings? Now: have I got it more or less on point? It's rare that any production, fan or canon, has ever addressed Shinzon's tale in precedence of Nemesis, and I am duly impress with the noble savagery I reckoned within. My only complaint is potentially the positioning of some of the pickup mikes and gain; at times the voices of many of the crew were barely audible or registering on the master track pre- or post-foley.
Hey sorry for the slow reply, thanks for taking the time to watch and post such a detailed comment. I wish we could take credit for such an interesting idea, but this takes place after Nemesis so that was supposed to be Picard. Really interesting idea though, and kinda makes me wish we’d gone in that direction. S’Ceris’ apparent disinterest was purely a decision on his part to not want to know. Fair comment on the audio, I’d like to say we’ve (mostly) gotten better at managing that in the intervening years. :)
5:27 I wish he’d dab his chin with baby powder. That tattoo is SO black it’s distracting. THANKS for this series!
Thanks for watching. We eventually ditch the tattoo, though we haven’t released that film yet. :)
Some of the best Trek is in these fan films.
That’s very kind of you to say. We made this one a long time ago and I’d like to think we’ve grown a lot since then. Thanks for watching, and I hope you’ll check out some of our more recent films.
Fantastic episode. I wish there was a group of people who I knew who made star trek fan films I would join without a second thought. Keep making wonderful entertainment.
Thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it. We made this a long time ago, and it shows, so I hope you might check out some of our newer efforts. Either way, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. :)
The ending score to this is FABULOUS!
Thank you, really glad you like it! :)
Giles Aston, what a look-alike, voice and all. Fabulous!
He is indeed. :)
credits on the ships was a fun little tweak
Thanks. That was Jen Carling’s idea and execution. :)
an elegant illustration of the point that sometimes less is more. kudos
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)
i assumed they beamed parker up as well.
Yes, a medical team retrieved her body later. Initial priority was the survivor.
other then stewart this guy is a great picard.
i wish shows like this was still on.
We’re still here! More films from us later this year. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid awesome question how come we have not seen the trill lt commander in a while is she ok. we see nick but not his wife and i was curious is she ok or just does not like to act anymore.
love this show.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)
I'm pleasantly amused to learn that fluorescent pink lunch boxes are still utilised in the space faring era. 🍕
Can’t beat a pink lunchbox. ;) (It’s more of a red, but came out pink on camera.) :)
@@StarShipIntrepid i love the bright pink though, it adds to the characters charm, boldness and then somehow also then matches the woman's hair in the next shot. it's those little unexpected things that just spice up the viewing experience for me. Great series by the way, lots of heart in it. I've been binge watching a vast range of Star Trek fan made series and films, and in my opinion Intrepid ranks higher in charm and storyline than a bunch of the newer fancy high tech fan films. I absolutely love watching fan series that start out rough, but keep slogging through despite Vulcan eyebrows dramatically changing thickness between shots 😂 and soon the entire performance & production begins to just bloom! I know there must have been challenges, but to me that persistence is a great success.
The library and the books actually remind me less of Dr. Who and instead an anime called YAMIBO: Darkness, the Hat, and Travelers of the Books
Interesting, I’m not familiar with those.
@@StarShipIntrepid It is a anime series from a number of years back now. In Japanese it is also called "Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito". Basically the library is supposed to have books on every when. Each book acts like a portal into a particular timeline and the maintainers of the library can go back and forth between them at will. One character in one of the books gets so close to one whom does this that she vows to track her down, and through plot gets to travel between books and realities looking for her, using another of the librarians to do so... It was a very odd but interesting series. Do not misunderstand... I know exactly all the Dr. Who references (like the Sonic Screwdriver) because I'm a fan as well, though I prefer the older 1st through 7th doctors... but the books had me immediately thinking of the Yamibo series instead.
Not of Starfleet but of the FEDERATION not the other way around.
Sorry, you’ll need to be more specific. This film’s nearly 20 years old, so I don’t recall specific lines. Do you have a timecode for this reference? :)
I viewed it just the other day for the first time so for me it is new. I believe in civilian rule OVER the military in real life and in my view of the Star Trek universe. Archer bringing together the 4 disparate life forms to create the Federation to deal with the Romulans required force hence Starfleet. I didn't care for the timeline of the Terran empire where might makes right. Granted Starfleet is a benevolent entity but it serves the FEDERATION. There is a civilian Federation President. Even in Bernam's time. Here NOW we have many military dictatorships and there the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many. Not a logical approach .
I know somewhere in those 47 minutes the preeminence of Starfleet OVER the overall Federation prompted my original statement here and no I will not review the episode. If you feel I don't know what I'm talking about fine....I have other fan films to watch. The best-STAR TREK CONTINUES
Lovely ears 👂😍
We never could get the, quite right. :)
