Hey guys sorry the delay on the video but this ones about temperature change to introduce plants into tanks that normally don't do well with plants and whether temperature will allow for the plants to grow and the hopefully the fish are happy.

Quantum Blackbeard algae remover and algae control
Just found your channel the other day. Brilliant. You still in the game?
Not at the moment,I've had problems in my personal life that's not allowed me to carry on,but I will be coming back to the channel and I've got some good ideas to put in .thank you for watching I'll let everyone know once I'm ready to be back again.
That would be brilliant. I saw your final video about eviction and going to Cyprus. I am from North London and also know a bit of Essex, where you were living before I think. I've had many of the same highs and lows as you in this hobby. Hope to see you back at some point.
Hi Mate, are you still getting messages? Was wandering how you doing?
Im thinking of going for the 200, i have a fluval 307 filter will tubes fit in okay at the back, will the lid still shut, or do you have to cut the lid.
If you have the space go for the 240 ,it's just a better size and yeah they just about fit ,it does lift the lid a little at the back but the lid just sits on the rim so there's no hinges
Can you hook up a python to it for water changes? Reason I ask is that I’m worried about back pressure when I shut off the valve when the water level is where I want it in the tank and the taps still running
I suppose you could try to put garden hose fittings on the python hose and have it inline but the di resin inside really don't last that long if you have large tanks and regular water change ,that's why I settled with either seachem prime or remineraling rodi water .I think though a RO unit is probably best for fresh water setups.i know they don't get rid the nitrates or nitrites or phosphates or any of that stuff but for just dechlorination I think it's probably the most cost effective.
I have the same awesome experience with the bioflow filter. It's the best value for money and simply an awesome filter.
Gotta admit it's really failsafe ,easy to upgrade ("though a more powerful motor would be better") and holds alot of media and you just put it the cor error and it doesn't take too much room on the bigger tanks
@tigertropics5386 I have a 350 liter tank with a bioflow L and 2 sponge filters. It works very good and less electricity needed. I also have a 240 tank with an Oase biomaster 600 and this tank also works good, but way more electricity consumption. So, I have both.
I've got a biomaster 350 I can't stop leaking! I've got it down a trickle but still won't stop !
@@tigertropics5386 replace the rubbers.
Great to see you doing fails as well as the successes . Breath of fresh air. You should have more subscribers.
Thank you man , just try to make the channel as someone who's finding there way in this hobby , my situation at the moment isn't allowing me to carry on the channel but in a couple of months I'm gonna start again on new things ,so please keep me saved so when I do post you'll get to see it 👍
Did it work
Yeah it did ,I used it for a while but a horrible shaped tank .Tall and thin
Beautiful Tank
Your talking about your neighbours complaining but your viewers are talking only about your tank lol. ?
I Want Vehicle
I would put a little white wool on top of the overflow stops that awful noise and the heater should go in middle unit so it warmer before goes back in tank
Ok didn't know about the middle section, slowest section of water there ?
@@tigertropics5386 looks great though I’ve got the same great looking tank
How did it turned out for you just to rely on the Bioflow? Did you keep the setup?
My two jewel filters hold as much media as three fx6s
Hi thanks for watching,I can't remember at the moment how much media went into my juwel jumbo but it was more than enough ,I always used setup too many filters and go over the top on some of the setups ! .Ive learnt that filter turnover isn't the same as tank turnover.
How did you install 2 of them? There is no pump outlet if you install it on the right side?
Yes they have an outlet on both sides
@@arthurpellett9256 good to know. But that’s only for the XL, right?
Yes possibly that’s the ones I use
Can I use this with fx6? Do I need any special connectors/adapters for fx6 ?
I'm not sure ,I think it has different size connectors with it .mine was second hand and came from a marine setup so the piping was at least 22mm .my advice is check out the eheim online store and compare hose sizes with fluvals FX hose size and your going to have to seal the hose on the connectors as well . Here's the fluvial UV clarifier which is designed for the FX filters images.app.goo.gl/92ywYtuW3RpYwrCa6
how has this been working for you? I just bought this model and saw while going to install that in cannot be mounted the way you've mounted it. They say it can only go flat. It doesn't fit in my sump when it's flat
Hi Lewis ,first of all thank you for watching and id didn't know you couldn't and just mounted that way.i had a friend who mounted the eheim and another that way and I thought it looked neat so done it the same ,try mounting that way see what happens, what's gonna happen 😅 lol
❤ Thank you for saving me time
Yes, Aquael optiset 240 perfect!
Thank you and thank you for watching 😀
Great!! This video helped me. Thanks!!
Loving Ur set up. I've just ordered a new tank today, the AquaEl 200. I'm doing a planted aquarium, very heavily planted. I've also ordered a cannister filter capable of filtering 2000l and hour. Do you think this filter is to big for a 200l tank? How big is your tank and what size filter do you use?
Thanks man , maybe position the output a little up to the surface to disturb the strength of the out or a spray bar would be ok .I used a fluval 306 which seems perfect for a 240 liter tank ,I used the oase filter which was weak .which canister filter you getting? Sunsun, aqueal ?
Is that a chip in the front left bottom corner?
Well spotted, yeah it was .It was chipped in transit, the tank wasn't perfect it's why I didn't pay any money for it ,I helped the original owner setup he's new tank and he gave this one to me .
All the best to you .. Wishing you fair weather and calm seas ... look forward to seeing you start again ,,, Where are you at now ?
Nice set up buddy. I was thinking on getting a Juwel Rio 180 but now i've seen this i've changed my mind.
It's a nice tank for the money ,cheaper than the fluvial and juwel alternative, only thing is you need your own filtration but you got optiwhite glass instead float glass
I have a 90 litre and a 30 and lastly 28. My nitrates are super high from my tap water. Would you recommend this product? Ideally I can’t get a rodi setup cause it’s not my home to be tampering with the sink system. So would you suggest this or have you got any other recommendations? Great channel by the way.
It depends on how often your going to do water changes as it doesn't seem to last as long as you'd think .is there a way you can buy water from your local aquarium shop? If not get a spotless water account and use the app to find a local outlet, they are 24hr units so can get it any time.
Oh and thanks man ,I haven't posted anything for a while but I can't wait to start doing content again.
Thank you for replying back and I appreciate the information. Keep up the great work bud. Look forward to seeing more content.
I wanted to replace my Juwel Bioflow filter on my Vision 260 when I bought it but it has been performing so good that I think I will keep using it.
They are not too bad ,you definitely need a wavemaker with it for tank turnaround.the pond guru video opened my eyes to how much media you can put in it and I'll definitely upgrade the pump to the biggest you can put in your filter .
@@tigertropics5386thanks I have added a wavemaker but I saw a nice deal on a canister filter so I am running both filters now instead of upgrading the pump 😬
thank you
Did you end up keeping just the internal filter in ?
Hi thanks for watching the channel, yeah I did with a better wavemaker it worked fine , instead of getting hung up with 10x filter turnover I went with 10x tank turn over .this seemed to bring everything up from the bottom and eventually all went into the filter so I kept it because it just looked better and easier to maintain.i do also start with upgrading the filters motor with the 1500 lh pump just because I didn't think the 1000lh was up to it and 3 times tank turnover gotta be better than two ,well that was my thinking.i learnt with this setup that I had to fuck about with the positioning of the wavemaker
I’m going to take my fluval off tomorrow and upgrade the pump from 600 to 1000 I have a wave maker coming tomorrow can you do a video of where to position it ?
Do you still have this tank? And do you notice that on the left side of lid, it isn't fully flat?
Hi thanks for watching,I don't anymore,I noticed more you take off the lid and replaced for maintenance it does warp a little ,I literally had it off most of the time as I can't keep my hands out of the tank
Hi thanks for watching,I noticed taking the lid off constantly does warp it a little .I don't have the tank anymore but I'll be honest after a while I used to just have the lid off most of the time .
I just got this tank and I love it. Not sure but my lidd is fulled closes, no gap.
@@tigertropics5386 Hi, any reason you got rid of this tank?
Do you know if an fx6 would fit in the cabinet and if the lid would close properly?
I think the FX will be to big (to wide) if my memory serves me right
how do you fit the hoses to the canister filter, is there a hole in the lid for them?
Hi they have cut outs for them under the lid
@@tigertropics5386 space for 12/16 mm or even 16/22 hoses?
They Live, close encounters, jaws, Ferrys Bueller's, hahahaha, you are from my generation...👌 I really enjoyed this video, I see myself and my daughter doing the same soon, I hope. Just one question, do you think I could put a chihiros type light? My idea is to make a transparent lid for the winter and leave it open in the summer, measuring the sides well to leave room for the light legs, but I don't know the millimeters of the profile of the aquarium where the lid sits. It seems like a very good aquarium and after many turns over and over again I think I have decided. Thank you very much and continue with that attitude, friend...Goonies never say die!!! Yeah!! and sorry for my english
Lol I love that generation of film it's my childhood,I loved doing stuff like with my daughter, the younger one isn't as interested . I put the fluval sea 2.0 under the hood and it had enough space when mounting under the light brackets . maybe if you find the dimensions for both units it'll give you a idea of size and thanks for watching the channel,I promise I'll do some soon .
@@tigertropics5386 I just watched your last video, and it scared me. It's funny how we connect with people even if it's just through some images, you seem like a good person and I was afraid of something...thank you for answering, after watching your video I have seen myself very reflected. Stay there, wherever you are fighting with whatever. A hug and a lot of strength from Spain.
Bless you and thank you,I'll do a video real soon for everyone X
Is the tubing you used 12mm ID or OD? Thanks for the video. Just got one of these as I have very high tap water nitrates.
I actually wouldn't go for this system I'd prefer a hma system or a rodi system and remineralise the water
The hose is garden hose
Congratulations 👍🐟🐠🐡
I ended up putting two in mine
Wicked they have capacity for alot of media and if you have the right pump there fine
Hello, is it possible to undo whole upper plastic part with light? To keep only glass and have open tank?
I wouldn't as the brace does actually do something, someone I read on a forum had got in contact with juwel and asked if he could do the same with he's tank and juwel said yes you can but the glass will bow a quarter of a inch which is massive . I really wouldn't as it'll be pressure which the tank my handle for a bit but the risk of it popping one day when your not there because the side seams have given out ain't worth it in my opinion.
It seems totally useless, thanks for the brilliant review.
Hi there I've just purchased the aquael opti 240 and put both lights on a timer and I'm just gunna use 1 with the bright light and 1 at the mid day light and see how it goes running the lights on timers from 10am - 6pm
Hi ,love that tank ,yeah that'll work ,the lights are very bright on these tanks so gotta watch out for nutrient control because of algae as the lights love growing it .I moved to the aquasky because it had ramp up and down and different spectrums but you have to have two because it doesn't cover all of the tank .I'd also look to see if anyone has a par meter or rent one to get the spread and par bang on because once I set my lighting up properly I didn't have to touch it and everything grew brilliantly and you get a idea where to put what plants
No no add some kind of content just share maybe some other people's stuff or something find something cool that somebody's done and share it.
Hey Kent ,I've only got two weeks then I'll start producing content again, got big setups across Europe I'm gonna post .over here has kinda been sewn up by Mick's fish channel so gotta go bigger and different
Good to see you! Been wondering how you are. Best of luck with ya travels buddy and keep the updates coming.
Defo man ,I'm hoping it turns out good .
Gold fish are really messy and you should really treat the water before it goes in with fish as it can take a while for the chlorine and chloramine to be neutralized as for diatoms this is all about balance and at first every tank is out of balance
Yeah your right ,I've ever had a problem with seachem prime always been told that it was sufficient to neutralise both chlorine and chloramine before it takes any effect on fish plants and bacteria.i did put phosphate remover in the filter but it was a shame I couldn't let the tank mature .but I definitely appreciate the comments, please keep an eye out in the future as I'm always willing to learn so keep an eye out man if you see anything I do wrong lol .
@@tigertropics5386 We are all learning my friend
Exactly what I did with my tank it’s all working great
is it normal for the light bulb to stay on for only a few seconds after connecting the device to the socket?
As far as I know the light is on as long as it's got power going to it ,I'm not aware it has a switch to turn it off and on by itself
Is there a way to reduce the flow ? It’s too strong for my 125
Point the flow up towards the surface
You first tank got lots of micro bubbles.
Yeah gotta fuck about with it until they go! That's one of those neurotic moments when your trying to watch TV but all you can see is micro bubbles lol gotta fix it !!!!
I have the 240litre version stocked with Boesman and Neon Dwarf Rainbows and a Angel, i can not shift the floaters and tried everything so was thinking maybe it is the pump that needs upgrading from the 600 to the 1000? Would that be too much flow for the angel and Rainbows? I just dont know what to do at the moment the floaters wont go away.
I normally use a fluval 306 and that's 1150 lh and I find that a perfect flow for that size tank ,floaters ? Are they frog bit? Or water lettuce ?
@@tigertropics5386 No sorry, i meant particles in the water, only option left is to try upgrading the pump like say, but was worried itll blow my fish around.
The 306 is perfect for it ,if you find it too much which you won't you just need to point the output to the surface and gain some more oxygen
