Nice try diddy
Thank you for doing this review.. Helps clear up what its capable for and what it's not after all the snazzy literature Ubnt does with their products. My hopes were that, even though it's a "Mobility" router, that it would be UniFi Controller/ cloud key managed but that's obviously not Ubnt's goal here even though it was likely originally conceived with this in mind until some executive meeting that changed the course of its management potentials for subscription only 😒. This thing would be a silver bullet for fallback gateway where I would replace so many MoFi routers if they just eased up on this one constraint given it's compatible for more then just AT&T which is why I'm not into their designated fall back solution either.
So at the end, the switch becomes the new single point of failure?
Yep pretty much. Going to fix this in the future. At least there is redundancy at the routing/firewall/control level
All I could get on multiple days in the sun was a max of 30W even tilting out of 45W. I suggest saving your money and buy at least a 100W . My car charging cable connected to the ecoflow river 3 get 60-80W.
good one , can you please elobrate how we can do live migration from one KVM cluster to another Cluster in diffrent DC , pls share some vedio
Shadow mode on UXG pro will come on UniFi 9.x version
Good work
This is useless to charge the river 2 unless you had no other choice and it will take a while. This is better to fast charge smaller devices like phones that use USB-C
They need to solve their 2.4ghz iot devices issue asap
Yeah, I haven't personally experienced it but I have heard about it.
@@beamnetworks1 oh man. I am tired. My first ever ubiquiti product and this mess and I got 3 x u7pro max. Do not know if I made wrong decision
It’s fixed some what I think have been using the new IOT settings under SSID which is 2.4Ghz IoT only mode
@@techtalkandtechunboxed ea 7.0.77 is pathetic. 7.0.76 was still better but nothing is fixed. On 76 all devices did not dropped at same time but my couple of devices went on with connection and disconnection forever. 77 is throwing like devices out all at once. It isn't fixed yet
@@captshadab yep I see on .77 it is still dropping the 2.4 ghz client
iphone limitation on wifi7, it's never give more than 1,2GB you can search for this results Samsung Ultra S24. vs iPhone
You can actually get around 1.6 Gbps download/upload speed via a speedtest but no more than that - due to the 160mhz limitation of the iPhone 16 WiFi 7 Radio - a Samsung S24 (ultra or not) can on the other hand get 3+ Gbps download/upload via a speedtest due to the 320 mhz antenna in those models of Samsung phones.
Appreciate the video. I have my UCG Max setup with Port 1 downlink going to a new Unifi 16 port switch. I see the new switch pulling an IP of 192.168.1.20 but it's not pinging which includes factory rest to device. i have tried turning off windows defender firewall with no luck. Maybe I am just missing something obvious but any suggestions on how to adopt the unifi switch behind the UC Max?
Make sure the 16 port switch is in a factory reset state and is ready to be adopted. There should be a blinking white or blue light I think.
Nice video subscribe. It’s hard to get the latest Ubiquiti devices in India
Thanks for the video
are you using snmp for the data for the graphana dashboard?
Yes, I don’t remember off the top of my head but there is a grafana mikrotik snmp plugin
It should have worked once the Access Point Name was entered, your cellular carrier will be able to tell you what that is or if you wait long enough the carrier will send it as a configuration package to the device which is probably why it took an hour
As a trucker, I live on 4G data. 42/11 Mbps is not bad.
Yeah, and these speeds seem to be on the low end. It said I was at -80dB. Optimal is around -60dB I think. Thanks for your perspective and for watching.
Industrial routers should not require activation and should work out of box. Just a note where IT world moves and is dangerous trend with everything that requires online activation. Thanks for demonstration and now i know, i too plan to buy some industrial quality router soon.
Yeah it's nice that UniFi mobility is optional too. Only monthly fee would be your cellular plan you put on it via sim card.
@@beamnetworks1 I have found that Teltonika has no activations, but UniFi required it? th-cam.com/video/VZ9NxexsuaI/w-d-xo.html ? activation is optional?
Idk what people are getting at with "poor audio" I've had no issues at 1/2 vol. Sweet video dude!
So, as you are very new and green to networking and UBNT's history, lets cut to the chase. The UCK-gen2+ is very old now, prone to fail and leck balls in bigger sites. The UDM-Pro was/is only suit to small/medium sites where device count is not insane. Make sure you turn-off and uninstall unused bloat apps. The UXG-Pro is largely an empty box and prone to lockup slowly (DHCP fails after data logging stops) and to be honest, a WOFTAM. The UDM-Pro MAX has more balls and allows the use of the protect ecosystem. You are home networking, stop over thinking.
Can you use this to connect to a phones hot spot to provide internet to your network? Like my main internet goes down, turn on my phones hotspot, connect to it, then have internet in my house
Yes, I think so but I can’t say 100% for sure. There is a wifi client option.
@@beamnetworks1 im currently using a little mikrotik router for this function, it works but id love a unifi device to simplify it or make it easier for my roomate to also use his phone as the backup internet if im gone and the service goes down.

Personally I think you should go for the 2 UDM Pro's in Shadow mode. To me personally I think the Ubiquiti UniFi CloudKey Gen2+ is probably near EoL as seen with their new Enterprise gear announcements like the Unfi Enterprise Fortress Gateway. Ubiquiti is really focusing on having one device with management running all Unifi applications (if applicable) and now with the new Shadow mode in the UDM lineup I think it's safe to say these device won't be EoL for a long time! Currently I'm running my UDM-SE since the end of April this year in my home network and I'm really satisfied with the whole experience as someone who work in network administration!
I agree. Good point about the Gen2+ being near EoL. That thing has been around for a while now and it’s making less and less sense to get. Thanks for watching
Yes, never buy equipment hoping that a feature will be added in the future, weren't their doorbells supposed to get a fingerprint reader on a future firmware update? I think you're on the right track with the UDM Pro in shadow mode. Does Ubiquiti still require physical changes to transition to the backup controller or have they fixed that with updates?
They’ve fixed it with updates so it’s fully automatic. Thanks for the support!
@@beamnetworks1 Careful with that statement, moving platforms like locally hosted or non-cloud devices will see you stuck at a login screen without a hope of logging-in after your local creds were deleted.
This method is incorect. No use more than one bridge. Corect way is to use one bridge, add ports to the same bridge and use vlan tab to configure tagged and untaged. On ports activate filtet for taged and untaged like taged only for trunk and untaged for access port. For mgmt add vlan interface to bridge and then dhcp client or fixed addrress. Vlan mgmt need to access cpu, so, for mgmt vlan need to tag interface who facing router and bridge to access cpu for mgmt.
One thing I noticed btw. Your eyebrows should have some negative padding. It's has a lot of white space between nose. But overall content is really on point.
Thanks for the video. Just know, when you log into the hosted UISP site now, it is saying that after 1/1/25, you will have to pay $29/month for up to 150 devices or $99/month for up to 10,000 devices.....so, I suspect your video is going to get a lot more hits as I certainly am not going to pay $29/month to Ubiquiti in order to provide free IT support to 6 households and I'm sure lots of others are in the same situation. All friends and family, of course, that I am providing support for but still, they aren't paying me anything for the IT support so I'm certainly not going to pay for a cloud-based UISP service that used to be free.
Yeah good point. This video was timed nicely I guess haha
in the first few moments of the video should probably had mentioned one of the bigger features included, IPS and IDS.
Pinned the comment so others can see. Good point that you mentioned, which I forgot to add.

No offense but I stopped watching 10 seconds in when you said “ultra or max or something” two different products and you should know the difference. I would edit the video to take it out.
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it and will work on improving. There are so many similar products in UI right now, and I didn’t have all the distinctions in mind while recording. I decided to keep it as is to maintain the flow of the one-take format.

@@beamnetworks1 thx :)
Ths is my dozenth watch of a Uptime Kuma in Docker container and there is still no instruction on how to actually give access to your Docket socket :(
Not sure exactly the issue you are having, but I don't think you should have to deal with docker socket access stuff assuming you installed Docker / Docker Compose correctly. Check your installation for that. Also make sure you are using a debian-based distro of Linux.
@AnjanModak Are you wanting to use Uptime Kuma to monitor other docker containers (via socket access)? I haven't tried this myself (so I may be very wrong) but you could try mounting it by adding `-v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock` to the docker run command. There are security implications here, so keep that in mind. You should then be able to successfully add a "Docker Container" monitor. Let me know if that works!
*Great Video !!* Question... do you need to have 2 Nanosations or can you get away with only using 1 (at the location where you are extending the WiFi) and then use a WiFi router setup in bridge mode at the other end? Reason being is I already have a WiFi router I can use. Theoretically the first Nanostation would perform all the "Heavy Lifting" in transmitting the WiFi signal as the majority of the data at the other end would only be receiving and not sending back much. Let me know if this is possible. Also can you do a video on how you would setup UISP in a docker container locally so one would not need to pay monthly?
Good question. You actually have to have a NanoStation on each side since the NanoStations don’t transmit a “WiFi” signal, it’s more of a radio signal. With that being said, I believe most of Ubiquiti’s LiteBeam and NanoStation models can work together. Ubiquiti has a site planner for UISP products somewhere and that will show you compatibility. Another route to go is by using the new Ubiquiti bridge devices they just announced yesterday on their website. They essentially connect to an Access Point upstream and provide an Ethernet connection output for connected devices. I will make a video about the UISP self hosted controller soon.
@@beamnetworks1 Ok that makes sense. I checked on the new Device Bridge/Pro and Building Bridge/XG products and they have great throughput especially the XG at up to 6 Gbps. WOW! Maybe you can do a video on the new products. For what I need I will probably go with the NanoStation AC model. I'll watch out for the local UISP setup video.
Awesome. Video will release next Sunday most likely.
Do yourself a big favor and get those things off the ground. Not just off, OFF - get them a good 8-12' up in the air! Above the worst of the dust and virtually all of the grass clippings, out of the way of everything. Double up the posts that are holding the power combiner box, send them 8' higher and attach the panels onto the posts that hold the combiner. Less stuff on the ground, better performance. The only downside is that it will make the panels harder to get to for service but with just a bit of work, like for a small wind generator, you could build a tower that would make it easy to lower the panels to the ground for working on them.
I really like those little solar mounts! So portable and looks cheap to build. I really like renogy's new panels.
Yeah, and the mounts are easy to make.
Good solar build but bad camera work. Hopefully you will get better with practise.
