Is RM or anyone in his family still receiving ANY compensation from anything "Gateway" or Kings College or books and publications or any type media? 2. Has RM and his family divested themselves financially from Gateway? 3. If RM is still associated with Gateway Church, will he still pull the strings in who will be the next pastor (his son)? In a divesture of leadership, RM's appointees need to go. They will always be beholding to him and RM will always have an "in" in the affairs of the church. 4. The congregation needs to be told if RM will continue to OWN the church and have financial benefits.

And it is VERY clear Morris lied for decades, he is not repentent even now, and what about NT teaching that leaders should be of impeccable moral character and spiritually mature? So, NO! Morris does NOT get a free pass for any reason at all for such an appalling crime of raping a child for over 4 years and then continue in ministry because it was a long time ago/he's a great preacher/God forgives him (even though he hasnt repented). It's because people like you are so keen to overlook crimes as serious as this in the church that they continue. He should have gone to prison. He must now be excluded from ALL ministry. When the continuing sins have been genuinely repented of, and he suffers the now limited consequences and makes genuine attempts to do everything he can to ask Cindy and others affected to forgive him, and is willing to give every last penny he has, if necessary, THEN, and only then, should there be any talk of restoration to the body of Christ, but never again, under any circumstances, to ministry. Difficult to imagine Cindy was his only victim.

Her father did not give consent to stay in ministry per the victim (i watched her interview). He told her while grooming her not to tell or she'd ruin everything. Classic predator behavior. His wife called Cindy and said she forgave her(Cindy)!! The audacious behavior suggests that the victim is at fault. Morris stated that the "young lady" was flirtatious with a jezebel spirit. Why did*no* adult call the authorities? Are they not mandated reporters? What about moral and ethical obligation? Abuse to a child is illegal. The police should've been called. We can forgive but this doesn't absolve any legal consequences cern this. I'm disgusted. Additionally, i used to go to this church but stopped before 2020 bc a man named Jim Tucker. He was a former pastor from Houston who had affairs with women he counseled. He also was inappropriate with minors as a youth pastor. I knew this man but thankfully nothing happened to me but i did feel uncomfortable around him. (I have my own childhood trauma i went to therapy for years about). He and his wife taught at Gateway Southlake for a few years. I saw them in church and my heart stopped. I called and spoke w one of the pastors bc i needed to feel safe in the church and had concerns for women and other young girls. He refused to speak with me; would not meet me in person and hung up on me. I knew then the culture of this place was not godly and stopped going. My prayer is that whatever behaviors/strongholds or whatever at this church and others will be broken and ppl can be restored but I don't think illegal behavior should be ignored. God help us 🙏🏼

You are dealing with God who is all power, knowing, and present. How could any church elders deal with sinful issues like this? He that confesses his sins shall have mercy. The governing members want to protect the offender because of the money he brings in.

The biblical way to have handeled this was for the eoman to go to the elders,then bring Pastor Morris in together. Then all yo make the decision if he is to confess his sin to the congregation. He’s not wrong about the DARVO thing. I had that happen to me in university with an instructor who developed inappropriate feelings for me and sexually harassed me. The university turned it around on me, accused me of engaging in inappropriate communication with the instructor and I was punished by the university.

A 12-year old child does not have the autonomy, maturity, or compatibility to consent to intimacy with an adult. If a child exhibits consent or coercion, it is false. Whether these conditions were present or absent, it doesn't matter. Robert was in full control of his circumstances and he made a choice to molest and damage a child. At our church we have a ministerial integrity council… we have set it up so our church is never allowed to investigate itself. If there are any allegations they are investigated by an outside board. After the Ravi Zacharias incident we wrote this clause into our churches bylaws. Anything involving theft, substance abuse and adultery goes to the integrity council. Anything involving a minor goes straight to the police. There is a good reason God gave us the judicial system. The church has been foolish to try and handle criminal matters in house

I think there is also another option that has not been addressed. Pastor Morris was in a youth ministry in his early twenties.. He wrote the blessed life and openly without mentioning names called her a young lady. He has stated that he got forgiveness from her parents who have remained nameless. They requested that he not preach again and to my knowledge which is superficial...has not been a youth pastor. He repented. He went through the restoration process and went on as a minister... God was not through with him. It appears to me that every minister is forgetting God forgave him . God is not changing His view. He brought him to zero a coupe of times to prove God was with Him. This is my biggest sticking point. He was and is forgiven. Do not get me wrong this was a baby. She did not have the education...the counselors or the maturity to work through this She still feels like she has not received adequate counseling and is asking for those sessions to be paid I do believe this to be true because she just gave social media a picture of herself at twelve and every inappropriate act that they committed. She just gave predator a playbook..How many other twelve year old girls will go through this because of the public scrutiny and the press. Clearly this will go to court and a settlement but this is turning into Stormy Daniels scenario...and not a twelve year old that still needs counseling and prayer.
