Crazy to think that’s waterway has that many fish and fish of that size in it . It’s not crazy big like the Ohio river or anything

It is insane for the size of the river. I can cast across the river in 95% of it but it's loaded. Especially with flatheads my 8 year old son caught 6 30+ pound flatheads this past summer right there In sharpsville and another 5 out at big bend end of river. Biggest I got last year was 45.5"x28.5". Last year"22" we got 3 fish over 48" easy 50+lbs . I've said for the last 5 years a state record flathead is gonna be caught in shenango river. We release all flathead even in the lake and big bend end where they are safe to eat. May-end of June it's best big bend end of river july- November weather permitting outflow end is better for flatheads

@@pyrodave6407 crazy , it’s a bit of a drive so I don’t get there too much , but definitely a great place .

Well whoever said that is 110% wrong and doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I don’t even think I’ve ever fished that lake or area before , and I have never or never will ever try to charge anyone to fish with me . 9 times out of 10 I fish alone , if not it’s with my son .

Taking 25 isn’t a problem when the daily limit is 50 a person , I could’ve EASILY taken 50 but I didn’t .

There’s musky in any of the 3 rivers , just gotta fish for them and hope you’re in the right spot . I’ve never caught one down there though . I Haven’t been down there yet this year, need to get down there soon and try it out .

@@412Angler I'm not a muskie guy. It's on my list for this year though. So didn't know if that current in that area would keep them away. Figured a better spot would be 1/2 mile or so downstream. Going to have to bump up my leader a little bit. 8lb not going to cut it. Barely handles the bigger hybrids when they hit.

Ya they’re in the current like that , definitely heavier braid and a good leader is needed

Trout don’t last too long here after stockings , there’s some small smallmouth in there too .
