A love supreme.
Amazing, simple the best of the best
Nearly forgot to watch this today
Classic improv 🎵🎶🎵🎷
I used to see Billy Higgins all the in NYC in the 90s. It seemed like he was on every gig. I wish to god I appreciated him then as much as I do now.
Tell it like it is ❤
Thanks I needed that. Those were different days. Music 🎶 was more explored and ( out there) then. I think post Coltrane. Higgins is cool.
LOVE THIS!
Billy Higgins was a true Master. In so many ways!!!!
Watching Charles here shows us why he is one of the coolest cats to ever blow! I had to watch more than once to really appreciate their synergy.
Your love of music shines thru 💐🌾
Billy Higgins is such a beautiful musician. Listening to Higgins explains why Charles Lloyd appreciates Eric Harland
Wonderful!
Where can I find this documentary!? So lovely, one of my favorite albums!
Mature, bold, free music
2 a da real ogs
damn dis bad ass g
What an Honor to have this Man in our life, pure goodness in the light.
This is one of the beautiful things on the internet, I think.
Wow beautiful
If you watch Billy unlike alot of others he plays on top of the kit. He's far from a pounder!
ogni volta che penso ad un BATTERISTA io non posso fare a meno di pensare a BILLY ... un MUSICISTA ASSOLUTO! a best friend of mine.....
Thats my Grandad!!!!!
Danielle speaks of the musical bond. . .reminded me of the first time I saw Charles playing at Yoshi's in Oakland. Must have been shortly after Billy's death; Charles spoke of Billy and cried and spoke and cried and rambled. This is a precious video recording.
great
A great piece of modern jazz (I note that Charles has ditched the kaftan!)
I love this but I am having trouble understanding it. I know it's free but I am trying to comprehend the relationship and know what is going on with one another. I know they are engaging in a relation but it's hard to see where it is going and where it is ending up. HELP
Ethan Honeywell it's less about seeing over the long term, more significant in the immediate improvisation
I never heard him play alto before.
Where did you get the footages of Lloyd playing I Fall in Love Too Easily? I would like to see it complet.
TENOR SOUND FOR EVER! WOW....So much color and a story in every note.
Wow!!
I saw Billy many times and as a 10 year resident of Leimert Park, I had the privilege of seeing him in the Village from time to time. He was at the end of his life here, but look at the joy and the power of his playing. He will always be my favorite jazz drummer, on the jazz drummer mount rushmore for all time. Saw Charles Lloyd too, not a Coltrane, Dolphy, Rollins, Pharoah Sanders, Athur Blythe or Jackie McClean...yet one of the premier players of his generation. Lovely, lovely stuff! Thank you Charles, and RIP and God keep you Billy Higgins!
9 deaf ppl here
Respect!!! C'est de la grande classe
Like the phrasing of that repeated lick towards the end around 7:15
Pure beauty!!!
A BEAUTIFUL Duet!
tutti quelli che vogliono suonare la batteria dovrebbero (obbligatoriamente) studiare per 100 anni questo video..... altrimenti non vi DOVETE definire BATTERISTI!
Amazing!
I just recently discovered Charles Lloyd and I find that his music is so imaginative and most interesting . Thank you for sharing this video .
wonderful..............................
this is so massive, hearing this changed my life and made me understand why i make what i do.
:)
Looks like "The World Stage", located in Leimert Park in Los Angeles. My friend Mr. Higgins opened it and brought lots of his friends there to play, at $5 bucks a head it had to be for the benefit of the people!
One of the last "breed" of great sax players on the planet!!! Forest Flowers FOREVER!!!
I only came here searching for lloyds interference principle
Good! Мило!
Just beautiful :)
@bomberbadj - could be any of 4 (maybe more) Neumann mics -- the U-67, U-87, U-87Ai (new version of U-87), or M269 ... all look alike except for badge color (not visible). I used to sell mics professionally. All are great mics.
