Ive only owned a business for 2 years and have hired equal amounts men and women, and while staff drama has been 99% from the women side, the women are far more reliable when it comes to overall care for the business and/or role. Both genders have issues with the schedule, but I get more flexibility from women. When it comes to keeping the store clean and actually TRYING when it comes to sales, the women win hands down. The ladies win for the most part when it comes to hygiene. But it just goes to show how detrimental drama can be, drama has been the only real downside to hiring women and honestly one situation has taken a toll on the business and how i move forward hiring people. Now I dont hire or not hire according to gender/age/race etc. but i do look for that 'crazy look in the eyes' and i objectively come across it more often with the women candidates than the men (the men have that "im dead inside" look in their eyes sometimes, which can be sufficient in retail lol.) With all that being said, my 2 best, most long lasting employees: one is male, one is female. I just hired another woman and another man, both doing well.

I find it absolutely mind boggling the people who are against self check out would be the IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR SELF CHECK OUT LMAO! For a guy who is a closet recluse, the self check out is fucking money in the bank all day! DONT have to talk to no one, don't have to deal with anyone's incompetencies, don't have to wait for the person in front of you to finish this lengthy story with the check out lady, if something goes wrong you just fucking bail, lol like the benefits are endless.
