This was from a LDGB busking afternoon. Many may not know, Nicolas Ridout was part of lost dog before his tragic death.

Laredo- Never say Surender. Benjamin Tod, Ashley Mae
Last time I head this group, they were berating a mainstream "country" artist. It was a hilarious video. Do they still make music?
That's a Mighty Fine Pick'in and a Sing'in!!
Terrible and true 💜
Cool channel ✝️🌄
That tears snot sleeve 5:53 Honest
best violin playing i get to hear. been listening closely since the early 70’s and few violinists have impressed me like this lady.
Ben tod (flippo) was on an album in Seattle with another guy, Train trestle ramblers. before barefoot surrender he was in Never say Surrender, (hence the name, a collaboration with the Barefoot Contessa). Before that it was Black Heart Rebellion, pretty much the same as never say surrender. His earliest music I've been able to find is Ben and Christian with the song "Happy Box". Pretty sure he's fourteen or fifteen when he recorded that song. If I can find a link I'll comment on this and post it. Oh, and i can't forget Spit Shine, (R.i.p. Nicholas Ridout) which also had the teardrop trio after he passed with just Shannon Jae Ridout.
This is an amazing piece of history!!!
new sub greetings from new york ,
Benjamin tod .such an underrated singer ,songwrtier,
The song is brighter shade from the album survived btw
This gives me the same feeling as “To Lay Me Down” by Jerry Garcia. An emotional goodbye. Well written and well performed
Can anyone say how nick died?
Love you all
This is one of my fav Lost Dog Street Band Songs considering I live in Laredo id love the band to come down here eventually to preform it it would be very ironic lol.
Yes, Nic was a part of LDSB. He was on the first two albums, I'm pretty sure. You can hear a lot of his backup singing on the Life's a Dog-Gone Shame album and his voice gives an eerie touch to it and of course his banjo picking is phenomenal. Sucks knowing we lost what was becoming one of the greatest folk musicians. It sucks even more that he had no clue he was becoming that. He deserves to be standing right beside Ben and Ashley today.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Too bad he'd never play this now.
This man is now rolling coal out of his 12 valve cummins. God is good
❤❤❤❤❤
I've been missing out on this one for years.. what a beautiful and mournful tune! Ashley and fiddle sure bears it out. Love that they all sing. RIP Nick.
Awesome Write Danny Richards Springfield Illinois
You guys keep reinventing yourselves ❤
I cried to this song today. Thank you, lost dog et al. Take care, may God be with you
Fuck man…thank you for posting this. Their music is a buoy for me when im drowning
Holy cow, ive driven many miles to see their shows nights back to back drunk and alone. Getting to hear these unreleased songs is a rare and powerful thing
Man Ashley's violin really puts that ldsb sound in all there sound. I love Ben Todd, but they are best together.
Rest easy Nicholas. Glad to see this moment is saved forever ❤
The tambourine stuck to Ben's boot is a nice touch
My lord Ben was pencil thin back then. Good to see him looking healthier these days
He was still a kid. The drugs, tramping, hardly eating, a lot of drinking and things probably didn't help either.
Great band. Ashley Mae gives me goosebumps🎻
This video is priceless. They were so young. R.I.P. Nicholas.🌟
Yikes. Heroin skinny
Bro thank you for posting these!
no way you actually found his old band 😭
Still so good

I’m not sure the person recording or people walking by realized this is one of the greatest American songwriters of all time.
I've been saying the same thing for a while now. The last album just solidified it for me. I just hope the recognition comes while he's still here to understand just how many people he's helped through some of the darkest times of their life.
One of my favorite songs, so glad Nicholas is on the banjo for this one
Never gets old, we do, the music will forever play on. When I die just who in the hell will charge my phone battery and make sure my volume boosting equalisers are still in fine working order ...... 😅
Damn bro shit is crazy glad this was recorded.. raw asfuck
So cool
Good music.
So glad to see these three, a movie about spit shine must happen
