I install a very obsolete PS2 mod over Sly Cooper music. Because why not.

goumods If the BA chip is blown, your PS2 will no start(black screen), while the blue eject light does not light up and the disc drive does not function at all.

So i have the same motherboard i was working on replaced the chip and it burned that chip out too dvd drive was half ass working replaced both chips it was moving mechanically but non stop. It burned the fuse again and the chip

hallo, i have some Question. With wich PS2 Slim Model can i make the saim Mod. is it possible to do the saim Mod with a Modbo 5.0, is ther a difference between the Mars chip and the MODBO Chip? thanks for the nice video very good soldering job.
You need a model is 7000x for this mod. The Mars 816 is a greatest chip for ps2. modbo is worse, does not read all discs.

Messiah engineering is so amazing, even today most modern modchip like Modbo 5.0 (release in 2010) still using Original Messiah method to decoding sony protection method.

you have to hit the power(reset) button six times. (tree times activates the recovery mode)
"Hardware Sleep Mode may be entered by pressing reset 6 times on startup. Your CC will remain in sleep mode until you power off the console or put it into standby mode, to prevent you from accidentally enabling the chip."
My PS2 can boot, goes to the OSDSYS, and can even run games from USB using FMCB and OPL.. but the eject light isn’t on, and the disc tray doesn’t eject.. is my LA6508 dead? (The model number is SCPH-50004) The laser doesn’t light up, and the disc drive is dead

Does this mod work on all 7700x models and below or just 7000x? Edit: I just found out that its only the 7000x, but do you know if this would work with the Japanese models?
should work, think different region consoles are still the same hardware, so as long as it has the PS1 CPU which is used for HDD functionality (and is only in the 7000x slim models)
Is there a way to use the firewire connection for loading the games??

I just saw this video. My PS2 SCPH-500xx no longer spins or turns on the laser. Even after a replacement. Could it be that I blew out this chip (or fuse)?
I tried this mod, but no activity led shows up and HDD Manager is stuck, what can it be? :(
why not just solder to get mx4sio
Because mx4sio is inferior to HDD.
