As the guy cousin for many of my girl cousins getting married, I’ve sat at the table multiple times. And to make the speech for my sisters to go off is one of the most difficult things to do each time. It breaks my heart to not know how they will be treated once they leave and never turning back.

My story:: when my husband and i were still dating , we found out that i have kidney failure, Dr said I have couple years left, so my husband asked me to married him, we had 2 daughters. I went on dialysis when I had my second daughter, I hope I live long to see my 2 daughter get marry.

My sister is getting married tomorrow/ wknd. It's going to be hard without both of parents but I'm happy to have my Nyab who is like a second mother to help her get dressed.

The younger generations are changing so that after marriage daughters dont have to leave their birth parents and siblings. Its happening. Religious beliefs and traditional culture are shifting. Thus, daughters one day will be able to carry on the family name too. Our traditional wedding and funeral divided families so much. now, its time to modify so we are united.
