Top 5 loudest FL day games of all time
This will be an unpopular statement. But, IMO, The biggest UF weakness from 94 thru 96 was Steve Spurrier. Well, take that back. In 94, UF's biggest weakness was their DC, Ron Zook. But in 95 and 96 it was Spurrier himself....He was so damn stubborn and inflexible regarding having his QB operate out of the Shotgun. Damn well near got DW killed vs Nebraska and FSU a couple times. Ill never forget UF lining up on a 3rd and long play vs Nebraska in the 95 Natty game from their own 5 yard line with 5 WR's. No blocking help for DW...He got sacked, fumbled, and NEB scored. I believe this was very late 1st period or very early 2nd period. And it was this insane play call that started UF's falling apart in that 2nd period and taking the worst whoopn in UF history up to that point...62-24.
This was ugly...
🐊🐊🐊 GO GATORS 🐊🐊🐊
The best season of Florida basketball.
The glory days of Florida football.
Florida Gators beat Georgia 2025 callin it
3:00:46 "Oh, it could be good! It _is_ good! Florida wins!"
I don't think Spurrier gets enough credit for just how amazing a coach he was. He won an ACC Championship at Duke. And he goes back to his alma mater and changes everything! Switched from Orange Jerseys to Blue. He pulls up the turf and installs grass. He brings a high-flying passing offense to the run-oriented and defense-first SEC. And from there he wins 6 SEC Championships and a National Championship in twelve years. And he was fantastic at South Carolina!
Game thst ruined Jeff driskel as a gator :/
Why does it surter so bad?
One of my favorites but this is like the only video on here that stutters
Remember when the announcers were professional and cared about the game- and not about produced bits? And they showed the instant replays? Sigh
That Spurrier draw play out of the I-back under center was deadly. And the talent on this field is insane
Watching Brandon Spikes rolling on the ground, that guy might be able to do stand-up comedy. Against LSU, he returned an interception for a Touchdown and then kicked the ball into the stands for a 15 yd unsportsmanlike penalty, much to the protests of Verne and Gary...But hilarious for us Gator fans, in view of the hate speech of LSU faithful. 😂
Blue Jerseys, the Era of the Gators!Has anybody ever heard Spurrior say why he went to Blue Jerseys.1990+2009 never wore Oarenge jerseys.
I think I remember Spurrier said the orange jerseys looked too much like Clemson.
Who is this commentary team??? It feels like it’s their first ever game
If I had to make an all Florida team, the majority of them would come from this squad. And yes, Danny Wuerffel would be my starting QB.
Hearing them mention “The Alliance” and how “The Big Ten was not a part of it”, oh how much uproar we would hear in today’s modern era.
I watch this at least once a year🐊
Good game. Go Gators
High drama in Jacksonville. Chaz Henry for the win! Oh yeah! 😁
Doering caught that ball. Real final, 42-24.
I know urban was pissed watching Cam that year. 😂😂
The Next Year the Streak Ends at 7 in 2001 during my Middle School Year 6th Grade 2001-02.
The LAST SEC Championship game you'll see on WBRC Channel 6 because ABC going to have a NEW HOME Coming September 1996.
I came to watch this game because of Lardarius webb😂
My first ever gator game. Go Gators 🐊
Last scheduled SEC home game on ABC for 28 years until ESPN/ABC picks up the entire SEC rights in 2024 (Florida/Vandy game in 2020 ended up on ABC after other cancellations)
In 30 some odd SECs to date (Feb 2024) and 60, some odd teams, only 2 teams have finished with 5 losses and unranked. 95 Ark and 98 MSU. FL really believed they were the stuff after beating a bad Ark team and totally did not show up against Neb the next game.

Damn, Danny Kanell, sucked, in this game...BAAD.
Danny Kanell would not have been a good QB in the SEC. The ACC was Azz back in 95.
Griese talking up John Cooper. What a laugh!!!
Just another great game in the rivalry between UF and FSU. As an FSU fan, I had respect for Spurrier as an offensive mind, yet at the same time couldn’t stand him always whining about Mickey Andrews and the FSU defense. Spurrier vs Bowden was truly a great thing to see as those 2 coaches were at their peak in the 90’s. Mickey Andrews to me was the difference in some of those games and Spurrier always hated him because he devised the defense that gave him the most double and drove him out of his mind. Spurrier then realized they had to get tougher, so then from ‘95 to ‘97 he made sure they were a rougher team, and the addition of Bob Stoops propelled them to a National title.
VA says Big Fing Deal to this game. Far and away, when 2 college teams meet twice, the winner of the 1st game, loses the 2nd. FSU beat FL in 96 then totally got their clock cleaned in the rematch 33 days later bec they didn't come to play. 35 pt swing on what were close games during the period. Yeah, right.
REVENGE
Brent, Gary, and Jack were the #2 crew in the 2000 season.
Florida St vs Georgia Tech Michigan vs Purdue In a 3 week span they had: Ohio St vs Purdue Michigan vs Northwestern Oklahoma vs Texas A&M And they had the classics more so than Brad Nessler and Keith Jackson
Im sure when Florida saw they would be playing BYU in the sweet 16 that year, that got them extra motivated for that double OT loss in the round one of the previous year.
They were not evenly matched. Im surprised Stafford has been in the league as long as he has. Stafford is not that good and overrated. Im not saying Tebow is all that but in Denver Elway did not believe in him. Tebow under the right coaching is a good qb. Look at Goff vs. Stafford in either team. Goff has already proven to be the better qb over Stafford. Stafford only lasted this long because of being in Detroit. Goff went in to LA and went to a SB then LAR decided lets cash in all our chips for one good year. Had they kept Goff they wouldve been better long term.
Stafford won a Super Bowl with Goffs team a year after he was traded lmao, you’re stupid
Crazy watching Aaron Hernandez play and in a couple years go on to get guilty for murder, then off himself in prison
Goat
Dang Monte!!!!!!! He unloaded on Studstill. Changed the whole game.
War Eagle 12:42
I was at the game and Alex Brown was the best defensive performance ive ever seen live or on TV or coaching
16:17 my favorite
Swamp kings 🫡
no volume
0:54 they’re throwing a flag but I don’t think anybody cares yeah right if you’re doing an excessive celebration you will get a flag for that
5 turnovers and still won, lol. UT runs a sweep and Jamal Lewis cuts it inside for no gain on 4th and 3 on their last drive when he had it all the way to the outside blocked up nice. Florida then runs the same sweep on 3rd and 3 to close out the game. Rubbing salt in the wound.
