    I'm doing just the reverse. I have the Hibino for next year too; it's my first one. I was worried about it getting too bulky, so I plan to use it as a planner/tracker (with only rub-on transfer stickers) and the my A6 Hobo Avec as my creative journal (with ephemera, doodles, and pics from my day). I'd prefer to use the planners the way you're planning since the Hibino is basically a folded A5 daily, so I'm looking forward to your progress and may make a last minute audible to switch them. (-:

      Ohhhh I am currently seriously second guessing my choice of the Hibino as a creative journal 🥴 It was the one I thought through the least and now that’s coming back to haunt me I guess 🤭 It’s exactly for the reason you mention: it’s soooo chunky already and I don’t think I can deal with the epic-level of bulk that will happen after using stickers/pics/etc 😅 So currently I’m back to the drawing board when it come to my creative journal… (I did some try outs with the Hobonichi A6 + Weekly insert as my daily practical planner and I’m super happy with it!! So at least there’s that 🤭) So… to be continued 😜 Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts! ☺️🙌

      @@ayearandaday Having the pratical planner set is the hardest one, so you're already ahead of the game. You could make a creative journal out of a paper bag (Like James Luke Burke (-:) if it came down to it. Hope you have some fun playing around till you find something that works.

    When I started collecting fountain pens, I bought 7 Platinum Preppy pens and I think within a year without any mistreatment, they all cracked. The Platinum Plaisir is the same pen but with a metal body and it lasts much longer. I think it’s worth the small added cost of the Plaisir. Thanks for the video! I appreciate your avoidance of pens that are copies of other companies’ pens. I do the same because I would not want someone ripping off my ideas.

      @ayearandaday 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ohhh… then my feeling about the Preppy’s was kind of right 😮 Of course it could be expected with a $6 pen, but durability-wise it’s a shame! Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts ☺️🙌

    I am surrounded by adhd friends and loved ones (my best friend, my husband, my roommate etc) and each person has a different flavor of ADHD. (My husband has inattentive. My former roommate and friend has hyperactive (the most "stereotypical") and my best friend has combo.) All three of my loved ones struggle with what you talked about with consistently doing adulting. Please continue to be kind to yourself as you navigate your adhd and planning. What I've seen them do is alarms. All the time. Alarms to remind them to do the thing. Another thing I've seen them do is taking on a new identity. Their past selves were not planner people but this new version of them is. I dont know how to explain it. But once they have chosen to be that kind of person they somehow do that magical adhd thing and make it happen. Never stand between an adhder and their new passion. Body doubling is also very helpful for them. If you can't have an actual person to sit down and plan with you- watching planning videos on TH-cam is similar. My bestfriend loves to clean while watching cleaning videos. She says that she can be miserable with another person who is also cleaning 😂 This video was wonderful and I cant wait for you tarot journal video! (P.S. I hope that my comments about my friends helps you feel less alone and that I didn't come off as being a neurotypical belittling your experience. If I have please let me know so that I can be a better adhd supporter)

      Thank you SO MUCH for your incredibly kind and supportive comment 🥹❤️ Your friends and loved ones can count themselves lucky with having such a kind and understanding ally on their side 🙌 It’s a weird thing to find myself at an age where I feel like I’m starting to know myself better, yet at the same time feel like a complete noob when it comes to dealing with ADHD in a different way 🙃😅 It truly is a constant case of trial and error, and it’s so important to stay kind to ourselves and not label the things that don’t work out as “failures”, but just keep trying and experimenting until we find something that works for us. Of course, that’s sometimes easier said than done 🤭 Thank you again for your kinds words and for sharing your thoughts 🥰🙌

    How has readings been and your current opinions on this deck? I really like the majors and I actually don’t mind the pips but I’m still unsure. Trying to be a bit more mindful and practice some semblance of self control and restraint when buying decks, spoiler its not that fun lol. I was just wondering what your current thoughts are and how has working with this deck been now that it’s been a few months? Thanks, darlin’! 🖤

    • @ayearandaday
      @ayearandaday 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Haha I definitely know the feel 😅 But in the end it’s very nice to have a collection of decks that you’ve really thought through! That being said, it depends so much on personal preference and what you are looking for in a deck to decide whether or not it’s a good fit... But for me, I love the rustic illustration style and warm colors so much: it has a real cozy vibe I love to turn to and that makes me feel calm and relaxed, as if sitting by a warm fireplace. I also don’t really have other decks in my collection that match that vibe, so for me - six or so months later - it is still one of my favorites ❤️

      May I ask, do you use tip-ins, ephemera, and pictures in your Hibino? Or mostly illustrations/text? How much "fluffier" does it get? How is the experience working in it now that it's later in the year? Sorry to ask so many questions; there aren't many videos showing it after use. (-:

      Just saw your question and wanted to throw this out there: the best example of a used Hibino including stickers etc I found was from @elizajournals here on TH-cam! I will include a link to the video. Her journal is beautiful but it made me realize that personally I’d rather use the Hibino only for writing (and maybe stamps) and find something else to use for stickers/pictures/etc. Because I don’t think I could deal with this epic-level of bulk 😱😅 Hope this helps! 😊 th-cam.com/video/4GYJ-XVvMto/w-d-xo.html

      Thank you so much for sharing that! It helped me decide to not get another Pilot Elite in EF for now, since I don’t think it will fit the purpose for which I want to use it. Instead I decided to go for the Platinum Century 3776 in EF for my planner, because it should have a similar linewidth as my Platinum Preppy in EF - but hopefully with a better writing experience. But we will have to see how that will work out for me 😅 Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts! ☺️🙌

    I honestly just found your channel. And feel like I could listen to your videos all day. I love the thought process you use. I've got a Lauren phleps monthly notebook I use as a journal. And also a hobonichi weeks mega for my planner. It's the most consistent I've been in them and been trying planners like yourself for years. And I will be using my system for 2025. If its working then I don't need to change it. I also don't put pressure on myself to journal daily. And that's why I like the lauren phelps one as it's undated. Wish you success in your planner journal and health journey

I feel like I am finally reaching a point where I have tried enough stuff to know what will truly benefit me. And even though it’s tempting to get a gazillion new pretty notebooks and planners, I feel like the setup I’ve created will serve its purpose within my practice. Now I can’t wait to get started in 2025 - and focus on the purpose instead of perfection (which will be my challenge 😅). Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts 🥰🙌

    Lovely set up! I'm glad you're going to make the video about tarot journaling, I'm really looking forward to It! Thank you. And now after this video I'm back to square one with my journals lineup 😅. I had decided the hibino wouldn't work for me cause I'm not sure about the paper quality but now that I see it again I really really like It! Since you have both, would you say they have the same new Tomoe River paper? Cause for next year I decided after 4 years of daily journaling in the hobonichi not to get one,specifically because of the new paper that don't satisfy me anymore with fountain pens...I decided to go for Midori, smoother feeling when I write. Please tell me if they feel exactly the same so I can finally take a decisione 🤦‍♀️. Thanks for sharing!

    • @ayearandaday
      @ayearandaday 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh no! 😅 I’m so sorry for disrupting your plans with this video 🤭😉 Apologies for the late reply: I’ve been wanting to compare the paper for you but wasn’t at my desk for a few weeks (due to some ongoing health issues). I’m also not really knowledgeable on types of paper and cannot compare it to the paper from previous years 🤔 That being said: yes, I would say the paper of my Hobonichi A6 and the Hibino feels very similar to me. I didn’t experience anything I would call unexpected or an issue with the fountain pens/marker tests I did in both. Meaning: there is some show-through with both, but that is to be expected with paper this thin. Maybe a bit more with the Hobonichi? But that might also be because that one has white paper and the paper in the Hibino is more cream coloured 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ But no feathering or bleedthrough with the pens I used. I only tried F and EF nibs initially but for the sake of your question I also tried my most juicy nib (a Jowo #6 M with Diamine Grape ink) and still no feathering or bleedthrough. So… again apologies for the late reply, and I hope this helps a bit (instead of possibly making it even more complicated 🤭)! 😅

I have my eyes on the galen leather folio, where you put one book inside and a lot of fountainpens too and you can buy it also with a tomoe river notebook. I wonder if you have ever tried their notebooks? If so, i would love to hear your experiences. 🌷

    Did you know you can unsrcrew the nib unit on the TWSBI Diamond? If you do so you can exchange the textured grip with a normal one. Either you can use the other one that you have on the other pen if you like the yellow colorway better or you can buy another nib unit. they come with a plastic grip. Also in regards to the Kaweco Sport. If you want a smidge more ink capacity you can buy a small cartridge and refill it with a blunt surringe. that should give you a bit more ink than will fit the converter.

      Ohhh thank you so much and I'm so glad you enjoyed! 🥰🙌 I would actually love to make a video on that topic - thank you for asking! I was planning to make a video about my journal & planner-set up for 2025 soon, but it would actually be lovely to do one about how tarot influenced my journaling first 👌 It always takes me a gazillion weeks to edit my videos though, so it might take a while until I can publish - but I'll give it a go! 😅

    I love these videos. I love all your content but this is super fun for me as I totally understand the allure and obsession of the fountain pens. I’m hoping to add the same twisbi eco caramel/brown one to my teeny collection.

Those coffee vibes are just so much fun 🤤☕️ I recently started doing Morning Pages and the Caffe & Bronze is my pen of choice for those - such a smooth writer! 👌

And, by the way, don't feel shy or hold self-doubt ... your voice and meter creates a very pleasant video experience for subscribers/observers of your videos. I love the music and the quality and lighting/colors in this video. Overall, nice job; thank you for this video! I enjoyed that video soooo much and was knitting and making myself cozy while watching. ♥️... fountainpen and paper can be so challenging. Have you tried tomoe river paper? The Hobonichi calenders have that paper and i loooove my hobonichi....and also the midori notebooks are awesome....i use that for my sketch journaling, drawing with all sorts of pens is amazing and the paper is so thin an also holds a lot of water when using watercolor. Thanks for sharing the things you love🥰

    I would recommend Lamy 2000 for you and if you want something more beautiful Pelikan M200. Very enjoyable videos. There are worst things you could spend your money on and if you use them everyday and clearly love them, do not feel guilty, life is short.

  • @tira903
    @tira903 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I loved watching all of your thoughts on your fountainpens - some of them i own myself. I write very small, so i prefer a extra fine nib. My go to fountainpen is the Pelikan M200 and i love my kaweco brass as well (but had a lot issues with the ef nib even after putting a new one on, so i switched to the fine nib here). The ef nib on my twsbi Diamond is unfortunately not fine enough, i thought because of a japan brand the nibs are even finer but they are produced in Europe i guess and they are veeeey similar to the Lamy ef nib. I would loooove to have a Pelikan M500 from the 50's🥰...thanks for sharing and please keep on sharing your collection ♥️

    • @ayearandaday
      @ayearandaday 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts ☺️🙌 I am curious about Pelikan and will keep the M200 in mind! (That special edition Copper Rose Gold one looks pretty classy or is that's just me? 👀😆) Also, I never thought I would say this but I might want to try an EF-nib in the near future...! 😅 Just need to figure out which brand/model would fit my needs best 🤔 And so the research continues... 🤭

    • @tira903
      @tira903 หลายเดือนก่อน

      🙈i did it....i found an old vintage Pelikan 140 from the 50's online and bought it... it's not here yet, i hope it will write and everything is ok. It's not the model i was looking for, but its hard to find the exact model with a extra fine nib. Why i choose the older pelikan is also because they produced their nibs back then as flexible, so i can write with line variations🥰

    Lovely sensible collection. Thank you for reviewing each one with honesty and personal knowledge. I have a small collection of fountain pens myself that include some of your choices. I have been very I retested to try the Y Studio brass pen in the case since you have praised it in few of your videos. My go to fountain pen is a waterman that I have had for 30 years. The nib is Medium and I always wished for a Fine nib instead. I do have a Montblanc (Mozart) same scenario. Came in with a Medium Nib, it was a gift, and would prefer a fine nib. My dream pen is a Pelikan M800 in green or cream. Thank you again for your very enjoyable video presentations. 😊

      Thank you so much and I'm so glad you enjoyed ☺️🙌 And thank you for sharing about your own collection - I love hearing it 🤓 For longer writing sessions I'm leaning more towards other pens than my Y Studio portable pen lately - maybe pens that make a bit more sense regarding weight, grip, etc. But it was my go-to journaling pen for quite a while and I still love it 😊

      @@ayearandaday I think what attracts me about that Y Studio pen is the design, wood and brass. Such a unique design. Maybe not practical because bigger bulky but very attractif visually. A beautiful piece in a collection. I want one!!! ☝️ 😊

      Thanks so much Shanna ❤️ And sorry for the late reply! 🙃 The Forgotten Legends Tarot has a mixture of "Slavic, Celtic, Scandinavian, Greek, and many other myths and legends come together" - according to the box. It comes with a digital guidebook written by the artist that holds more information on the mythology that inspired the cards. I often forget to read it because it's not there in the box - and the artwork alone is so lovely. But it's actually quite interesting so thanks for reminding me to use it more 😉 Feel free to DM me on Insta if you would like to see some examples!

    I've thoroughly enjoyed hearing about your trip into the Black Forest 🥰 Have you taken classes for your drawing or are you self taught? Either way, your art is beautiful and I'm envious. Thanks so much Shanna - I'm glad you enjoyed 🥰 I am self taught (thank you TH-cam and Skillshare! 😆) and one of the first things I had to let go off is the idea that I have to draw everything from my mind 😅 It is perfectly ok and normal to look at references when drawing and it will make a world of difference, so I would definitely not get discouraged and just have fun with it 👩🏻‍🎨✨ (Which is exactly what I'm telling myself every time my drawings turn out wonky 🤪🤣🤭)
