Just a simple guy working on a simple BMW.
I am always looking at videos of people performing jobs on cars and there is always something I would like to see that was missed or best there is not any content out there for me to look at.
So I took it upon my self to start up a channel that may help people like me. Just looking for some DIY, not at some fancy shop, but in the garage floor sweating and busting knuckles, all while learning something new in the process.
I hope you will enjoy as the content rolls in. If you have any question post them up I will be more than happy to tell you my experience with the BMW.

In this video I upgraded my wastegates and bushing. I am working on my turbo upgrades and this was just a step in the process. I also talk about some of the issues with wastegate rattle and the dreaded 30FF code. Hope you enjoy, comment below if you have any content that I could capture.

Doing some looking at my old wastegate actuators and I thing the forward wastegate has a blown diaphragm. What do you think? Also have a quick look at my 3D printed turbo covers for the char’s when either storing or shipping them without either the exhaust housings or compressor housings installed. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with these tools. My primary need is to have a solid coding and diagnostic tool. I used Carly and like its usability; however, it has many limitations and it uses its propriety OBD2 adaptor. Carly cannot registers a new TPM RDC module to my vehicle and I had to find a local shop to do it. I learned ProTool support module registration, at least for the TPM RDC. Carly is a yearly subscription while Protool is a one-time purchase.

does it matter if your car is heavily modified even with open recall? i will tried to call tmr as well

Which oring is that? Also, there this a something called using punctuations. Lol.
Something to consider as well that I found important and very useful is that once i had chosen to go with the MHD and Pro tool apps I could then also connect my Xdelete (app to turn my Xdrive BMW into a rear wheel only drive) as well as Xhp app which is for tuning your transmission (it's amazing what we can do with that one compared to stock trans tuning). They all will run through the OBD2 wifi adapter or the "Thor" wifi adapter so you don't need to have different OBD2 adapters for each. Pro tool runs through them as well.
I’ve got a stock E61 and planning on a basic stage 1, eventually going down pipes and charge pipes. Gonna go MHD and ProTool. Wondering if I can use the MHD Bluetooth adapter for protool? Does it work with protool?
Good work and vid. I went with Mamba also, spoke with the owner, Japanese guy, said they source all metals used from North America or Japan. I went with 14t and 9 blade turbine, new CHRAs, balanced, with new comp housings, and flapper kit. Just about to install. Your car still going well?

I want to code mi lighting like my Halos, exterior and interior lights. Does Carly and or Protool do that?

This rebuild won’t work unless you balance the turbos, I have tried it before and it was a complete waste of time, turbos blew up right after I installed them. Balancing is a must to get the them working properly, but great video anyway 👍🏼
Thanks for the comment, however toward the end of thr video I talk about balancing. I had these sent off to the UK for VRS balancing. I had them check each component for true balance and thne had them, perform a dynamic assemble balance. But yes assemble balancing is a must.

@@bmwid10t17 Hi I have mamba upgraded CHRA's with new comp housings, about to fit. Obtained some used turbos and used exhaust housings, added new waste gates, actuaters etc, so straight swap with current units on my car. Your car still running well?

do u need to balance turbo after doing this ?
It is strongly recommended to get VSR balancing. The turbo components are all individually balanced but the VSR balance is a dynamic balance of the turbo assembly.
Where do you get them balanced at?

Wish I found this video last week, so MHD actually came out on ios and i bought the mhd wireless connector and it hasnt came in the mail yet, but I'm going to upgrade to index 12 injectors, I dont want to buy another tablet or phone to code for the injectors but i have a laptop, if i purchased the cable would you recommend "INPA" for pc?
I would always choose INPA, because of its capabilities. But if you have never used it, it will be a shotgun blast to the face. It is an OEM tool and you need to watch some videos on how to use it. I hope this helps.

Yeah it really should be called a re-administer of an old recall. I just lucked out and mine was never performed before. I am sure some people was hoping they could get all new -12 injectors.

This a company out of Taiwan, so far I have been impressed with the quality. I sent the turbos to the UK for VSR balancing. I was able to talk to the shop owner and asked how bad it was. He said not bad at all. This is important because mamba says that they balance East part, so they were truthful on that part. No issues so far.
