Living moss makes for an excellent base for displaying the beautiful specimens you procure! What a wonderful way to show off the individual beauty of each stone, though my Wife's opinion would vastly differ if I ever tried to utilize that medium indoors, mostly for what insects might call that moss their homes! You live in a truly spectacular world to find such amazing rocks so abundant, easy to discern amongst the gravels....for that I find your situation enviable, but I won't be jealous if only a little sad for myself, but at least you rescue them from obscurity and grant them a chance to sparkle; I feel fortunate to view every one! Firstly, I pray you and all your camp remain healthy and safe. Just know that I could watch you hunt stones all day long, if only that was a possibility! The few fragments you did pick up were quite beautiful, though that red and of agate dominating the jasper sample was tops for me! I had not seen anything from you lately, perhaps some obscure algorithm is keeping me from noticing, so I shall have a cursory look after I finish here to see if I have been cheated the experience! That gorgeous hidden hue, busted loose by the pick axe, found comprising the interior compartments, protected and nestled, there within your Blue Agate specimen, a secreted place and safe hideaway, a treasure of the hue defined as "where the sea meets the sky"; aethereal elements fused electromagnetically with plasma, then met and combined in natural course and given time; dissolved compound salts that laced the waters brackish and bitter, were sourced from a variety of crytalline state metals, at their leisure did imbue the water with it's savour, charged with a strange vitality, these necessary components assembled not only exhibit an awakenening, it is alive and displays a newly acquired lustrum, for it also possesses a soul! It's no doubt, those wondrous petrified biological old souls had likely been calling your name for centuries, perhaps since a time of distant amd vague remembrance, when those trees were filled with leaves, with foliage still vibrant green with life, thriving and standing instead of sleeping in dust! Such specimens as these you've acquied are of the highest class, decidedly fine and so wondrously wrought that my vivid imagination runs wild while pondering, yet still unable to fathom the grand expenditure of years encompassed within a sprawling timeline, just how would that calender appear should it prove requisite to show in a definitive way that slow progression of process. I allow that some strange alchemy must have had it's way to achieve such an indelible outcome, so marked and singular appearance. It seems these rocks were given the blessed kisses of The Creators, such affections once bestowed, lend each greater and lasting resilience, fundamentally and molecularly transformed that renders a more durable extension to physicality! Desiccated pieces of wood, those remnants of fallen tree of the old order; silicon based wood made stone, that result brought about by the slow process of mineral replacement, those specimems tucked safe away from the ravages of oxidation, awaiting for someone best attuned to seek it out, come find it and more of it's kind! I think your Opals are Agate. Since Opals contain up to 30% water their formation usually is not within the high temp rocks like Jasper.

What are the green stones in the same vicinity?

I would love to be there. I love rock hunting. Unfortunately we live in an area that doesn’t offer much for rock hunting. Wisconsin in the USA has lots of beautiful rocks.
