Ended up having to herd a young pheasant...
มุมมอง 60ปีที่แล้ว
I accidentally scared a pheasant and her two children on my walk. The mother and one child flew away a bit, while the last didn't. So I had to herd it back to it's family. All ended well and I saw them in another place an hour later, without scaring them this time.

    In the German Langhaarnetzwerk we call that "Wuppelduppel". ☺ It is a very stable kind of bun for all people with very long hair in relationship to the ponytail circumfence. I especially like the second version, because like this you can make a loose bun tighter and the other way round - literally 😎. And the bun is thicker then on the upper half - a thing I like pretty much. 👍 Thank you so much for making and sharing this. 😊

    Hello Tatsu, you have amazing hair and beautiful hair jewelry as well. 😀💗 I also have horn combs and I use them very often. Concerning the hair fork: It is very good for oval buns in your case, the Simple Wrapped Bun or the Cinnamon Bun, as you tried it, are too short for it, also because the hair fork is flat - with no curve according to the head's curve, so you see the longly overstanding ends even more. I think Bastian Art Furniture follows the style many East European manufacturers do exert - massive but flat prongs, which require big loops to easen the pressure on the only point, where the fork comes to the head. When I see the other fork listings of that shop, I also see that sometimes the prongs are tapering towards each other on the ends - means the distance between the two outer prongs on the tips is much smaller than their distance right under the topper. 3mm difference doesn't affect comfort much, but 5mm difference can cause headache because the thicker end of the fork has to be squeezed into a narrow bed, given and shaped by narrow standing prong ends, regardless of the buns you try with it. I don't see much difference in the outer prong distance at the start and the end of the prongs in your hair fork just by watching your video, but you may measure that out for yourself. I would recommend the Spidermom Bun, Disk Bun or the horizontal Spock Bun for this hair fork with your hair. Regarding the Cinnamon Bun: As I see here in your video, you make a mistake many users do with hair forks and sticks in Cinnabuns. You insert the fork into the outer round, letting it come out on the other side of that outer round. That way, the first and inner round will plop out always in a certain time. To avoid this, you better insert a hair fork into the edge of the first inner round and let it come out on the edge of the outer round on the other side. And another tip: When you wrap anti-clockwise as in your video, you should insert the hair fork or a stick from the left side too to counterbalance the dissolving tendency of the bun towards the right-spinning direction. Yes, one must change hand position for this, but the long-lasting result and the comfort is worth it. And with this method, you don't need any additionally pins anymore. I made a video about a Cinnamon with a hair comb/fork recently, you may take a watch there. And just because you said in your video, that you used more and more hair pins in the Cinnamon Bun: When you use two or three pins for the first round, then you need much fewer for the second and the third round. I often do the Cinnamon with spin pins only and I need four for that updo at all, two for the inner round and the two others for the two outer rounds. And with u-pins as you use them additionally to hair forks and sticks, it will not make much difference. Regards Fornarina

    • @TatsuOni
      @TatsuOni ปีที่แล้ว

      This was an unboxing video. It's not meant to try to find buns for the fork or being a tutorial in any way. And this video is not new. I know how to use the fork and what buns I prefer. No a cinnabun does not work the way you described for my hair. It doesn't hold inserting it that way. I guess that you and I does not have similar type of hair. The same goes for the using of U-pins. Your method is not optimal for my hair and I do use two pins for the first lap but still need more. It's great if it works for you, but my method is what is best for my hair. And since it works, quick, easy and is comfortable and sturdy. I really don't see how it would be wrong? Different buns, tools and methods works different for different hair types. I guess your hair is not super slippery Houdini hair?

    • @fionafornarina
      @fionafornarina ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TatsuOni Hi Tatsu, you are right, I don't have such slippery hair, but the 2a/b type. With slippery hair you definitely need more hair pins like this. If I would have slippery hair, I would use more bobby pins in the ends. You have very long hair, so I guess it doesn't matter for the optics, when you braid the end(s) and hide them and secure them like this, that could add more stability. I admit that I always try to use the mimimum of bobby pins or u-pins for a hair style. I nearly always use bobby pins for updos, where I make a ponytail base with a hair tie first and secondly I insert the stick and only then I wrap the hair around. I use Bobby pins then, because with the hair ends I can't reach the base anymore in this case. If I can wrap the hair around the base tightly before inserting the hair fork or the stick, I don't need bobby pins usually. Have a nice weekend.🙂 regards Fornarina

    • @TatsuOni
      @TatsuOni ปีที่แล้ว

      Bobby pins are not coming anywhere near my hair and I'm not ever starting an updo with a ponytail. These are real hair killers for me. And I really don't see why fever pins would be better? Rather should one pay attention to what works best with ones hairtype and keep with ones own preferences. I don't have any problems with getting my buns stabile and I have different tools and buns that suits me.

  • @thegracklepeck

    I use my boar bristle brush quite similarly. 😊 My hair always feels so nicely conditioned after brushing with a boar bristle brush. I only wish that someone had explained the purpose of boar bristle brushes to me earlier! I used to think you used it like any other brush. Now I have a different type of brush for detangling. Only after detangling and separating my hair like you do, do I then go in with a boar bristle brush to spread the oil down my length and get rid of any dandruff buildup. It always makes my scalp feel so much better!

    Off subject but how often do you refresh your henna/indigo? And do you just do root touch ups or the entire length?

      I touch up my roots when I feel like it, have the time and the energy, so not often enough 😅 For the first years I had to touch up the entire length a lot. At first it was every application, then a bit less and less. Now it's probably around two years, since the last time and it's still black.

    I love Melissa's books! I will attempt to do this style...but my hair is quite a bit shorter. I am between waist and hip right now

      I think that it's doable at that length! :)

    Mam with all respect, this is the Indigenous hairstyle specific to El Istmo De Tehuantepec that Frida copied. Please credit the original people, we would really appreciate it!
