- Victor Orbán's visit comes only days after he made a similar unannounced trip to Ukraine, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and proposed that Ukraine consider agreeing to an immediate cease-fire with Russia. Shortly after Putin sat down with Orbán, he suggested the Hungarian leader came to Moscow as a representative of the European Council, despite several European officials condemning the visit.

Orban is using a diplomatic approach which the other political leaders in Europe seem to have forgotten how to do. Perhaps it is because they have to run all their propositions before the Whitehouse first instead of looking out for the interests of their people.

@@youjustreadthis897 I am from Bulgaria and after 45 years of Soviet pilfering my country and imposing a communist regime with labor camps I would like my country to have the option to be protected by a military union that is based on defense and eliminate any new Russian appetites for many more decades of Russian influence. Russia may have all the natural resources but Bulgarians have much higher standard of living that Russians.
Diplomacy is always better than war. Hopefully, both sides can come to an agreement.
Ukraine does not want to give Russia half of its territories, and Putin, in turn, wants a de facto surrender of Ukraine, peace talks imply compromise, but how can one compromise with those who deny the Ukrainians' right to exist? Besides, the majority of Russians (at least 80%, according to the Levada Center) support the war. It is useless to negotiate with these people, they do not recognize Ukrainians as a nation.
For peace to come, it is necessary to recognize Ukraine as a sovereign state with its own culture and history, to completely withdraw troops from its territory and to admit Ukraine to NATO, only then it will be possible to talk about any negotiations. In the meantime, aggression continues, and for Ukrainians this is a struggle for survival and freedom.
Russia can end this War this second by leaving Ukraine.
But Russia chooses to destroy his demographics. 🤦♂️

EU countries should hold referendums on this conflict and allow the public to choose btw a path towards peace or continue their unwavering support for ukraine. With the caveat being that the countries who voted on continuing support for ukraine will include manpower support such as conscription to fight for ukraine, starting with individuals who voted yes. I am sure that will change everything and there will no longer be any keyboard warriors shouting for war.
