This video contains a very small but immensely important message on thalassemia awareness for the general people, specially for Bengali people over Bangladesh, India and throughout the world. So that more and more people may get understand the basic concept of this disease and can take necessary attempt accordingly.
Before marriage, every future couple should be tested for screening of thalassemia by doing a simple test called "Hb electrophoresis". It only costs 1000 BDT but save your future child from having born with thalassemia. In Bangladesh, there is no such accurate data on exactly how many child born with thalassemia, a genetic hematological disease, for which he/she will have to suffer rest of the life. Simple way to prevent this disease is to perform pre-marital blood test for Hemoglobin Electrophoresis, by which you may detect whether you have thalassemia trait or not. If both partners are thalassemia carrier, then there is 50% chance of giving birth another thalassemia trait baby each time you conceive, 25% chance of having purely thalassemic baby and rest 25% chance is there where the baby may not get the disease. So this is high time to get people aware of this, to build people's awareness on this issue more and more.
If in early age, if you have anemia, fatigue and you found low hemoglobin without any explainable cause, then you must see an expert in hematology/medicine, to exclude thalassemia / thalassemia trait or any other hemoglobinopathies.
