I’m a loctician and do the wrap loc extensions and have multiple clients who wear them forever. They do not slide if you do them correctly and they mature just like regular human hair does and end up becoming a mature loc….. palm roll them bad boys down girl!! PEOPLE DONT GET DISCOURAGED ! just find someone who really knows the process of this and can help you maintain them correctly. Locs are a process and patience style even with extensions. It is a spiritual crown experience respect the Locs enough to go through some type of process she definitely is saying this even though the title says don’t do it💜
If is is a spiritual experience, then I would not start my locs with some Indian woman's hair that was processed to an "afro kinky" texture and sold. Plus they cut their hair off as a sacriice to their God. I would not want those spirits/energy on my crown. My locs are 1yr old and I never would add fake hair to mine. But to each his own. I know you locticians make a killing off doing those extensions. Get yo bag! Lol

T Lashae The One Also people dont understand the density of their own hair vs the extensions. So the added hair may be thicker than what their real locs may grow in to be. Thus causing heaviness at the roots which will eventually lead to their locs thinning overtime. But again..to each his own. I started my own traditional locs and color my own locs. They are flourishing! I don’t want to rely on anyone else for MY hair. Which is why i got rid of my sisterlocs a few years back after the first retightening session lol.
I did this method and has had no problems. She used 100% human hair, I didn't wash my hair the first 6 months and definitely didn't bleach or dye them. I started out with red extensions.
Everything you’re saying is TRUTH! I had wrapped loc extension and the unraveling only got worse...I took them out. Glad you found a way to do your own repairs, I had no knowledge of this technique in the past. You make me wanna post a video about my experience...😥
I have the crochet loc extensions. I will be 1 year Dec 2020 and yes they were very expensive but worth it, they blend in so well with my 4B textured hair. sometimes you get what you pay for.. Btw, the blonde looks amazing on you.
I'm in the U.K, im 7 months locd, I miss length but I'm trusting the process, your doing well to maintain it, My hair was like 1-2 inches when I started.😂
Wow I am sorry you had this experience with your locs. Mine are wrapped and they hold up well. I had them for 4 years before and never had any unraveling. The last set I had I only took them down because I got bored
I thought I wanted loc extensions...until they arrived in the mail. It doesn’t even feel like real hair. Immediately changed my mind and loced my own. No regrets
Im glad i watched this video because your video on taking them out scared that hell out of me lol im a licensed cosmetologist so im experienced in hair but locs are a whole other world i made my own loc extensions and i was so excited to install them but then i saw your video and have been very apprehensive but now that i know you had wrapped loc extensions and not the "traditional" im more confident in the ones i made think ima go for it!
I'm glad you changed your mind and took them out because the wrap method is useless. It's harmful to your natural hair and it doesn't make sense why "locticians" recommend or install them. Like they slip out and then it's messy when taking them out. I can't. I have traditional extensions and I love them. They are a much better option for you and much less time consuming.
I got the wrap loc extensions first. I didnt like this method it was a waste of money I took them out after 3 days. And learned the crochet method on youtube and did it myself and have been happy ever since 4 months and content. The crochet method looks more realistic . Everyone thinks its my real hair. Heck I forgot it wasnt mines. lol
It’s like she use Malaysian or Brazilian hair instead of using Afro kinky hair to do your locs or your wrap locs. That will cause unraveling very quickly. She can do a rattler and still crochet parts of it where she hast to add an additional hair out of the way while she’s wrapping and it wouldn’t unravel.
ughh im going thru the same thing with my wrapped loc extensions too. im debating if i should leave them or take them out and start with my real hair 😖
The downside to the wrap method for me is that once your hair grows out , it won’t match the texture pattern of your naturally loc’d hair the way that crochet method does .
i paid 740 for mine that are traditional and 24 inches, never were stiff, and looked just absolutely natural out of the package. no one could tell and came bleached on the ends. i got them from etsy. maybe try there if you wanna try again. i personally think your hair looks good but then again im not wearing yours so cant see the imperfections as well.
When you divide up the cost you paid for time and plan on keeping them in for 18 months, I feel like you gotta add like $20 an hour for every hour you spend maintaining the unraveling or fixing them just because that's something the doesn't seem like it should happen.
Right. And if you add that in, they’re definitely not worth the money & if you go back to the loctician to maintain them, that’s even more money so...It’s definitely not cost effective for the long term lol
sis it doesnt look 'natural' but it looks HELLA cool like you have a unique style, those rubber bands probably fulfilled a purpose but this whole style looks intentional and like you are setting a trend! but i get what you mean that the locs dont match a natural texture that is a shame..
Hi What are wrapped locs? I want to get them installed and the person I contacted makes her own locs and install them with a needle with your hair. Is this what you are talking about?
There are apparently several different install methods. This video she explains that the wrapping technique was used for her install. A more secure method is crocheting them in with a needle or needles, which is what your stylist seems to do.
I thought these were for you to keep locs in for a long period of time? So you don’t have to wait for your locd hair to grow long?… or did you put them in to know you wanted to eventually take them out?
Yeah i wanted to keep them at least a year then see how it goes but they just stopped looking good to me and started falling out. but people have kept them for several years
The reason the hair is straight is because it is indian hair that is processed to a "afro kinky" texture. That "afro" kinky bulk hair did not come from the head of an african descent person. LOL
Grl I just feel like, u didn't know what you were getting into. You didn't even know what type of hair was used in your install or the technique used. So there were a lot of variables contributing to your opinion. You made some good points but it was kinda all over the place

How do you get them to be not stiff after getting them done?
Had mine installed with this method and loving them and haven’t experienced and slippage

You should! There’s really not enough info on wrapped extensions out there yet! They really should only be temporary but they’re so expensive!
I Do The Traditional Extensions....I Saw That Wrap Method And I Was Like I'm Good Love Enjoy 😂 Too Much Extra Work For No Reason
I have the crochet loc extensions. I will be 1 year Dec 2020 and yes they were very expensive but worth it, they blend in so well with my 4B textured hair. sometimes you get what you pay for.. Btw, the blonde looks amazing on you.
Thanks! I’m really considering cutting the extensions out when my real hair gets a certain length and getting the traditional extensions instead

Awesome video and confirmed for me that getting the crochet loc extensions is the way to go for me. Love you hair color!
Absolutely, wrapped extensions are cancelled lol glad i could help!

But we do have hairs sticking out you wrap those around or cut them I wrap them your hair look great 😊
You should try the crochet type, it’s way better than wraps
Thanks! I was going to do these, but not anymore lol
Glad i could help lol

The frizzys look good tho that's how I'm tryna lock mines

I went back and forth about doing them myself but i couldn’t commit to it lol

If your real hair locked it’s gonna grow fast, take the fake she out and the real shit gonna grow fast.
the bleach definitely change the texture of the hair and cause the unraveling also if it’s not human hair it’s not going to loc correctly

They actually look nice though 🥲 how many locs do you have?
I have either 98 or 100. I’m not sure which lol
I just got my own bundles and made my own locs. Spent $120. I say if your a diy’er, do them yourself
I was so close to doing that but idk how i was gonna do the back of my head since my hair was so short!
already did it
i’m shocked cause whoever did em is suppose to offer tightening services after so long
I thought these were for you to keep locs in for a long period of time? So you don’t have to wait for your locd hair to grow long?… or did you put them in to know you wanted to eventually take them out?

New sub I love your personality ur funny naturally 🤩
Omg thank you so much!!❤️❤️
Girl you colored your hair 3 times?!? Ofc it would unravel, even normal hair couldn’t take in 3 dyes in such a short term
The price is a lot less than I expected you to say
How many bundles did you’re stylist use
I have no idea honestly, she was just pulling the hair out of a big bag.
Are they not human hair? I’m getting mine wrap and my Locs human hair
They are human hair but i think there were some synthetic pieces mixed in

Lmao I got these too they’re were horrible my hair is slick and they all slipped out 🙄
So many of mine have unraveled but surprisingly none have fallen all the way out 🙃 yet
she put synthetic hair in your hair for 700 it should've been 100% human
Damn 740$
