Mythcarver wouldn't be useful in locating Raishan anyway because she doesn't have a vestige on her possession. It's cool to see how scrying works in different ways depending on how it works. Mythcarver cna locate vestiges, Pike needs a personal item belonging to the person she will locate and the Earth Ashari seeing ritual requires a connection plus well being able to do it at all
First thing, I like your reaction to Pike's non-denial of her relationship to Scanlan. I think that's such a funny moment. BTW, in show canon, anyone can use Scanlan's sword. J'mon S'ord used it to identify Riley in episode 2. It's interesting what you are saying about framing Keyleth's learning of the ritual. I tend to skip these Earth-bending sequences, but I didn't really know why they seemed superfluuous. But, yes, there aren't any real stakes. We know she's going to somehow convince the Ashari Council, and we know that she's eventually going to learn this spell. (I will admit that I enjoy the head Council person, Uvenda, telling her to go away and finish her aramenté before demanding a new high-level spell.) I suspect, though, that part of that scene is to establish an antagonistic relationship to Uvenda. I think Uvenda is water Ashari, and that is the last challenge that Keyleth will need to face before completing her aramenté. It might help dramatically if Keyleth has to overcome their leader's disdain, as well as her own incompetency of water spells.
Yeah, Keyleth would have a point telling the rest of the Team off for not listening to her... *if* it weren't for one little question: *What was HER plan?* She literally didn't offer the Team any alternatives. If they'd gone with what Keyleth wanted, they would've fought Thordak without the Plate of the Dawn Martyr, which would've been a far bigger disaster than what we got. There's no way they would've won.
And every single time she randomly accused Raishan (and backed her up to others later) she was completely wrong: Raishan was not lying about the eggs as part of a setup, Raishan had nothing to do with Ripley’s attempt to steal the plate, Raishan didn’t flip on them when Thordak decided to hunt them down, Raishan wasn’t the one who exposed Whitestone (and that one was the one that destroyed the deal), Raishan set them up to potentially fail in the Battle of Emon, Raishan had ulterior motives and attacked Keyleth when she stumbled on her mid plan. Keyleth also forgot that every time she accused Raishan in person, the entire group readied to fight the dragon… only for Raishan to vanish/be on fire because of Thordak/Percy realised that it was Ripley and stopped them in time.

I fully agree with the discussion. For me, this season was near PERFECT all the way from the beginning to episode 9. But this episode really doesn't hit. Near two seasons worth of hype, building up to the take down of Thordak... Then they do it and immediately split up in emotional turmoil to do their own thing.
I kinda disliked this episode, I think you voiced well some of the issues I had with it. I think the splitting of the party is almost melodramatic and the pacing just feels off.
